Hi Mark

If Mclean's suggestion is not suitable you can have a look at the link below to bring the files into PD8 directly

Hi George

PD8 claims to handle the following Audio formats Audio: MP3, WAV, WMA, M4A. It appears AC3 is not supported.

Hi Jayhawk1

If you can stream your video tape via USB to a hard disc here's what I do.

I have an external hard drive connected via USB where I tranfer the files (clips) for storage before I work on them.

To work on the files in PD8 you will need to "import media" via the the "media room" (yellow folder) click on it and browse for your external drive.

You can then do any editing you need to to do and when you save your project it will be saved as a .PDS file. If you go to DIRECTORS CHAIR - EDIT - PREFERENCES - FILE you can select your external HDD to be your "import or export" location.

To work on a "saved" project in PD8 go to the white folder to the right of the directors chair at the top of the PD8 screen. Click here and you will find your projects.

When you have completed your project you can then "produce" it. You will then be able to save the file and rename as necessary. The format will depend on your choice at the time of production.

I hope this helps

Hi Dave

Have a look at this link. It may help you with your own music

Hi Kurt

Try downloading "Format Factory" (it's free)

http://format-factory.en.softonic.com/

It will convert most files to something PD8 can handle

I hope this helps

Hi Dom670

Does your PC and laptop burner support DL?

Robert

You know where we are if you need help

Robert
That's great Niki

It's so nice to have some feedback, an awful lot of people dont bother so we dont know if we have helped or not.

You are always welcome to ask questions and if we can help you we will.

Regards

Robert
Hi Niki

If I have understood you correctly. Put your secondary clips in a PIP track. You can then stretch it via it's handles in the preview screen so that it takes up the whole screen. In other words it covers the main video track.

If you have PD8 you can open extra PIP tracks by clicking on the "Two snowflakes and a + sign" above the time line.

When you place your secondary clips in the PIP track just put them in the position where you want them to play. If you do this correctly there should not be any audio sync problems.

I hope this helps

Robert
Hi Gregor

A single layer DVD of 4.7gb should give you 120 minutes of good quality video.

The quality of the preview screen in PD8 does not give a good representation of the final production. It will be much better than what you see in the preview

Robert
Hi Engs

You could try downloading the "free" VLC Media player and see if that gives you audio. http://www.vlc-media-player-new.info/

It's worth a shot

Hi Stephen

You know you can put any CD track into PD8. Just burn it to WMP and it will be placed in "MyMusic" folder - Browse and drag

I have Power Director 8 Ultra. My build number is 8.00 2508

Robert
Hi Stephen

To the top left of your timeline is there a little button with two stars and a + sign. If so click on it to find extra tracks.

PD8 ultra has 9 PIP tracks, but I dont know what version comes with media suite. The current build version is 2508. It does sound like yours is way behind. PD7 only had one PIP track, so your HE version sounds a bit like that.

I hope you can find that button for the extra tracks

Fibredrive, Hi again

As kevin says, this is very odd.

When you save the file, PD8 should only give you the option to "save project" Is that what you get when you save the file?

Now, to find that file again I think you may be trying to import it (yellow folder) which will only give you the MPG2.

Are you going to the "open project" (the white one at the very top of PD folder to retrieve your saved work. If you do you should find the saved work.

On the other hand, if you are opening a "project" and the bits and pieces are missing you need to read the the section on "Package Project" as suggested above

I hope this helps

Robert

Edit!! I may have misunderstood what you were saying. If some of your files are OK you are obviously doing it right - sorry
Hi Fibredrive

Have a look at this page on the forum. In particular the post by Kevin about "packing project". You may find it useful.

Hi Scott

Sometimes TVs are fussy which flash drives they work with, try another one.
So far as I know, and I am sure somebody will correct me here, TVs prefer the M2TS file format.

And lastly, I just had a look at a Phillips 42" spec, and it says "USB for fantastic photo and music playback" No word about video playing so you had better check.

I hope you find a solution

Regards

Robert
