"Copy"?
Open/Start the computer with your projects that you want to "copy"
Open PowerDirector using the project's saved pds file.
You should now have the project displayed on screen and the Edit Workspace showing.
Top left of the screen and select File/Pack Project Materials. (PDR10 will be File/Export/Pack Project Materials).
"Pack" to a new folder.
The folder should/will contain all the media you have used to create the project. It is the folder with the newly created pds that you copy and move via a connected portable device.

The pds file is an xml script that lists the location (local address) of media used, it is useless* to copy and move unless you pack the material with it and in the manner indicated above.

*there are ways to circumvent the local address issue but explaining how is not for now.

Hi TroySpiral,
The variable frame rate your device (I'm guessing here) records is likely the cause of the dilemma. In Edit your video is being displayed at the closest option (and if you have the Preference/Confirmation frame rate notification checked) and is the best available but you get a warning popup. When you gain more confidence you'll probably do away with the popup. It is the output in Produce and what you select which should concern yourself with. Use Intelligent SVRT to match at best the original video.

The hesitation between clips may be to do with hardware acceleration (uncheck the options) but again I'm guessing.

If my answers haven't helped please can you provide some more data.
See Part A, B, a screenshot of the edit workspace Part E & F and data on the video being edited, Part J. Knowing what you select in Produce would also help.
See the guides at: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/45453.page

Just a quickie,
5 years 11 days (inc 2 leap years) since you joined the forum as an active member works out as 1838 days.
Now based on the figure of 2000 posts that would mean Tomasc you've had to add an average of 1.08813928 posts per day (every day) for the last 5 years.

Stay cool

Hi Alan,
I cant give any info out but the thread http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/25/48785.page#259899 made me have a wry smile as members try and deduce the timing of the release.

PDR14 currently has a 70% price reduction, I would suppose that PDR15 will be at the full retail price when launched. In the thread I've linked to, Barry has suggested price reduction coupons may be available.

Edit: Thank you for removing the quotation marks.
Hi Alan,
Please edit your Profile and get rid of the quotation marks around your forum handle, as they do cause issues. I would have sent you a PM.
Check out: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/45454.page

Maybe Ultra is your best option, read the specs of all of them.

Be aware that PDR 15 is due out some time soon.

Dafydd
Hi tomasc,
I have edited your post and sent you a PM.

Everyone: Here's what needs to be done, to make a quote display correctly in a post.
Select "Edit"
Look at the "Options" below in the Reply Editor and uncheck "Disable BB Code in this message".

Hi Ray Mc,
I'm not seeing anything jump out at me in "general" so far except the foolowing.
1. You're editing a TV/recorded program
2. Your diagnostic shows you've had/have a number of incidents running in Windows, see reports at the end of the diagnostic file.
3. You've got a powerful computer set up.

May I suggest a workaround? OK, I will
Run the avi video files through a video converter such as Handbrake and change them to mp4's. The avi you have is like a monster with large boots on, clunky and thumps around sluggishly (some time soon!).
mp4 example using a PDR14 profile,
Video bit rate = 16mbps
Audio = AAC 384
Frame rate = 29.97

Just a suggestion.

Hi bonagege,
Thank you for posting the update
Dafydd
Hi alanwilliams2938,
The trial versions of PowerDirector are not designed to be activated, your search will be fruitless I'm afraid even if you found a trial PDR11.
Maybe it is best for you to consider updating PowerDirector.
Dafydd
Hi Fenman,
Take issue, yeah, no problem.

I'm aware of the "production" rather than editing as being the issue mentioned. Shadow File generation throws up strange effects when the files are incomplete. I want to view what the OP has/is editing.

Please address the OP's issue. I'm fishing for useful information at the moment.

Dafydd
Hi Ray Mc,
You've missed out some basic data to help members help you. Here's a list and see the link to the guide below:
1. A diagnostic. Part B.
2. A screenshot of the Edit workspace with your project insitu. Part E & F.
3. Text file data using MediaInfo of the media files used. Part J.
4. PDR14 version data, Part A.
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/45453.page

All the info please as "somewhere" in the data there will be an answer in there for you.
Dafydd
Please provide a screenshot of the Edit workspace with your project insitu. See Part E & F in the guide.

The diagnostic looks incomplete, no nfo in the lower section.

i5 may struggle with HD video. I'm wondering if you have Shadow Edit files being generated and you're starting to edit before they're all completed.

Dafydd
Hi respawnseries,
Five bits of info you should provide to members please so you get the best answer.
1. What build of PDR14 are you using, see Part A in the guide?
2. A diagnostic of your PC, see Part B in the guide.
3. A screenshot of your project insitu in the Edit workspace. Part E & F in the guide.
4. The MediaInfo of the video you're editing, see Part J in the guide.
5. What are you creating the video for, so we can advise/suggest the best output to choose?

Guide: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/45453.page

Give all the information requested please and members will be able to give you the support you need.

Edit "?" added
Hi don.mitchel,
Thank you for the follow up.
Dafydd
PDR9, that's an old product. Make sure you've applied the very last patch. I would suggest it was time to look for the latest version of PowerDirector, I see they have had a 70% discounted price offer on.
Dafydd
Hi don.mitchel,
I've read all through this thread and I have sent you a PM. Tomasc and Shadowman help and assist many forum members with sound advice and information. Your comments targeting them are totally unnecessary and reflect badly upon you.
Dafydd
Hi Krugster,
Just a workaround thought and an experiment to try.
1. Run the output file from QT, the mov, through Handbrake (free software) and create an mp4/mp4 codec.
2. Uncheck the Shadow edit files, you shouldn't need those, 2x places in Preferences, General and Confirmation.
3. edit the files in PDR14 and see what difference there is.
Might be better.
