As far as i know, all the windows are locked together. Meaning like you said you can only move the entire program window or set up a preview monitor.
Not sure if this is what you need but, you could try to move PD to one monitor then shrink it down to about half the screen. Then re-size the windows in PD so they're usable.
Best of luck!
Quote: You've also left a "sliver" of audio in track one, that may be intentional.

Dafydd,
The "sliver" happens alot to me, because i often am over a little when i click insert.
Tony,
Thanks, though yes, your reply didn't have an answer It was vary enlightening.

I agree, but as far as i can remember the trail did have all the slideshow templates.
Recently i imported some short WAV audio clips into PD. They played in windows media player, before the import, and played in PD's preview while file selecting window. But when i'm in the media room and i click on a file and click play, it plays but i don't hear any audio. The real mystery is that once i add the clips to the timeline they play fine.
This isn't really a problem per say because they play in the timeline and produce fine but i was just curious if anyone knew what was causing this.
Thanks,
ClancM
When first reading this post i had never heard of NB but I've looked into it and think it'd be a great edition to PD. I've often wished something like Boris FX were available for PD.
When you say infinite, i assume you mean for a certain amount of time. What you could do is create a gif. like Kevin's stoplight and have it stop on the same, or right before the image it starts on. That way you just insert it again and again one after another for how ever long you want it and it will look looped. You could even do this then produce it if you don't want to clog up your time line.
For YouCam you can produce the above mentioned scenario as something that YouCam will play.
Tony,
It does have 3. Slow, Fast, and ....Broadway i think. Been a while since the trial.
I often use a GIF to AVI converter. To play my gif's in PD. you just need to chroma key out the background.
AVCHD is the best option for Blu-Ray.
The Imprinted option makes it like a tittle, meaning you can;t turn them off. But the Subtitle for disc option is like commercial DVD's where you can put the subtitles on or take them off.
Cyberlink offers Power 2 Go for free it works good for burning folders
Make sure you switch the subtitle setting from being printed on the movie and optional. This can be done by clicking a button on the bottom of the subtitle room.
You need to then re-open a project (file>open or ctrl+o) after you start PD. You can also change in the preferences (the gear icon at the top) if you want your last project to open on start up.

Or if you meant this:
you can add clips to the sample clips folder in PD C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector\SampleClips and i think they will show at start up, though i HAVE NOT tested this.
This happens to me sometimes when i click the tittle room to early, and don't wait for the tittles to load.
Quote: Is there somewhere else where I can simulate different colour filters and saturation ?

Thats exactly what you need! Click on the clip in the timeline, and click FIX AND ENHANCE in the middle bar. That will bring up a window where you can edit these values. You can also have them change by keyframe.
PDToots has tutorials on attaching a file to the forum.
But all you need is to use the chroma key tool. Click on the clip in the timeline. Then in the middle bar with the options click the modify button. In the modify window, click on the first eye dropper icon on the left side bar. You then click the color you want to take out. Put this video in track 2 and the video you want in the background in track 1.
Here is a link to a video tutorial on this http://directorzone.cyberlink.com/tutorial/#0_3_2
The best way to do this is with a green screen chroma key set up. But it can also be achieved by using a mask.

you could delete part, produce but click the go back to the edit page. Then click undo
I think PD should also have more text animation options.

And the ability to import .gif images and have them play through with out using a gif to avi converter.
PD9 will still run on a slower PC (mine for example) but you will find that it takes vary long to run simple tasks. But i'll let the more advanced users evaluate your specs.
Premiere can be complicated and tough to use for the average user, but that's a topic for a different forum.
