I just saw that there was a new update. I was hoping that at least MY most frustrating issue would be fixed, and that's getting the playhead to go to the beginning of a track when you click on the track. NOPE!
I looked at a couple of other things, like the video track opacity in the timeline. Don't see it. What exactly did they fix in this version? Where's the changelog? i've never seen a professional software company so evasive about a changelog! I click on the "What's new in this version?" and I get an Error Page

I just installed a new update since then, but the head still doesn't go to the beginning of an added clip. Not sure what he's talking about, unless I missed something. Still not user friendly to say the least.
There's a new update released 9/25/23. Hopefully that'll fix the problem.

The above offer came through 2 days ago.
I doubt if I will renew if I'm stuck with this awful version.
I had the same thought. I saw the email before I did the update. Then I had to go back to see if I'd really seen such an email. Is this their plan to try to keep their users from switching to different software?

Thankfully this is one feature that has returned in the latest update
What latest update? The problem is in the update from September 19th. Are you getting a new update since then?

I do think it will require patience. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to institute changes without introducing all kinds of new problems. It's a lot of code to modify.
It's very difficult. But that's what Beta Testers are for...people who enjoy the frustration of working with buggy non-funtional software. We are all the unwilling beta testers for Powerdirector.
I did the "Rate Us" thing. Maybe they'll be so inundated with complaints that they'll put some things back the way they were. I'm starting to like the new appearance of the UI, and I've quickly gotten used to clicking in different places than I used to. But my primary concern is the playhead not automatically going to the beginning of a selected clip. I can't see any reason for taking that away. They even put up a warning box that the feature doesn't work. Why???
If it ain't broke, don't fix it! And if it don't work, don't release it!

Once again, something they "fixed" that wasn't broken. I've spent the last hour trying to recover some functionality that I had before. Most of my keyboard shortcuts quit working, and importing them back in didn't work.
What benefit is there to clicking on a clip and not having the timeline marker not go to the beginning of the clip? Completely useless.
I can get used to the rearrangement of some of the on-screen functions, and I like the updated look of the UI, but why take away functionality?

Since the last update of Screen Recorder 4, I'm having issues with the recording looking like my gameplay has a memory/fps issue, with jerks in the gameplay movement. My gameplay is fine but the recorder is acting like the fps is really low. What I've had to do is record for about 20 minutes, stop recording, then start again. Anything more than about 30 minutes and the issue starts. I didn't have this issue previously and could record for a couple of hours with no issue.
Sorry to revive this old thread, but there's not much in this part of the forum. I've used Screen Recorder in the past to to "tutorial" type videos, and I recently installed Screen Recorder 4 on a newer computer to do that again. It only captured every 4th or 5th frame, even though it was set to 30 fps at 1080p. Is there a setting I need to change? It worked fine on my older, slower computer.

I think I found a solution. If I try to open a file by double clicking on the project in Explorer (PD closed), it freezes at 60%. if I just open PowerDirector from the shortcut, and then open the project, it works fine. Can anyone else duplicate this?

Same problem here. Can't make SVRT work under any circumstances since the last update.

There aren't any options, but try this: navigate to your desired folder with the Insert image tool (you don't even need to load any images), then click on Insert background. It should open in the same folder.
Insert Image has been my workaround, but I didn't try it without actually inserting an image and then deleting it. I'll give that a try. Still annoying, but it'll simplify things by a couple of steps. Thanks.

TSIA. When working with backgrounds in title designer, when selecting a folder for backgrounds, it reverts to the prevous folder each time. Older versions didn't do this.
When inserting images, once a folder is selected, it keeps returning to that same folder, and then that folder becomes the default folder for inserting backgrounds--and this is my workaround. But this should also work for inserting a background.
Or is there an option somewhere that I'm missing?

Hi,
I am informed that the 3929 patch will be re-instated on the update page on/after the 28th June.
Can I suggest that you check back then, if you haven't been successful in any other way.
Cheers

How long after June 28? There must've been a major problem with this release for them to yank it like that.

Just a screen size resolution item. With nothing in the timeline, place the cursor in video track 1 near the left edge, the cursor will transition to a double left and right arrow cursor, when it does, click and drag to the right. You'll probablly also see some track labels exposed that you might never have known existed.

WOW! That's exactly what it was. When I set it up on the new computer, I slid the little slider just to where I could just see the little padlock icons because I occasionally use them, and since it gets into where the "show entire video" button is, it just disappeared instead of cutting off the edge. I was certain that it was on the same toolbar with the Magic Tools, etc. so I didn't even think to look there.
Thank you so much!

I've been using Powerdirector 15 for over a year now, and my old laptop finally started giving me so much trouble that I bought a new one with a modern i7 CPU and Nvidia graphics. I reinstalled PowerDirector, got everything all set up the way I like it, and in the process of editing videos, I notice that there used to be a toolbar button near the Magic Tools and "Split the Selected Clip" buttons that allowed you to quickly zoom out and show the entire video across the time line. You can right click on the timeline and select "Show Entire Movie" and it does the same thing, but I"m really missing having that button to do that quickly. Other than this everything works fine and better than it ever did on the old laptop.
I don't know if there's a setting that customizes that toolbar that I may have changed a year ago when I first started using the software...if there is, I don't remember how to do it and can't find anything that gives any options on that.
I tried doing a complete uninstall and reinstall and the button is still missing.
Any suggestions?

If I record a video at 30 fps, and then double the playback speed of the video, then process it at 60 fps, is it truly 60 fps, or is it still 30 fps with each frame repeated twice?
