Is this Readyrangers stuff a paid job? .....if so, I want in

Are you burning to folder or to disc?
If you haven't tried burning to folder do so and see if you still have the problem. You do have to activate the burn to folder option as outlined here:
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/8131.page
You system should have enough RAM and HDD space.
If this is successful you can use IMGBurn (freeware) which is a reliable burning module.

There is no PiP track as such in PD9 just multiple video tracks which is actually better.
Video tracks are overlayed in ascending number i.e. track 4 is overlayed 3 which is overlayed 2 etc.
Looking at your screen shot you have placed it in an appropriate track for it to work.

Personally I have only ever asked one question in the three years I have been using many of the Cyberlink products through Technical support. They responded with a solution within 24 hours.
Kevin
They obviously had a solution to your problem where as in this instance they do not.
I put a ticket in inthe early days but gave up. I work with what they have given us which is a cheapish NLE which does a half decent job at what it does. Work arounds eventually get there for those fenickety few of us who demand perfection but only spend $100 on software.

Well logic would dictate the higher the profile level, the better the quality.
Ie 48KHz has much better dynamic range than 8 KHz, 16bit would be better than 8 bit., 187Kbps data rate is much better than 7Kbps etc.
As long as your PC can edit the files easily enough, go the highest data rates for both video and audio.

Any update on whether they are bringing copy and paste back?
It is available.
1. Open project you want to copy.
2. Use the yellow markers on the time line cursor to highlight the clips you want.
3. A copy button appears above timeline.
4. Open existing or new project.
5. Merge clips
6. Move cursor to end of second project
7. Paste button is available above time line.

t So I think your second comment is the main reason, if that's true (it's news to me). Is this documented somewhere that I can read more about it?
thanks.
Here is a thread where it is discussed.

I know it isn't what you want to hear but what you are doing is probably preferable.
Two reasons.
1. PD9 isn't particularly good at estimating disc size so burning to folder is quite a good intermediate step.
2. PD9 can be a bit flakey in burning discs and Imgburn can also verify the data.

Without downloading the files I think both the problems have been noted:
Firstly SVRT does not work if you change the beginning of the clip; this includes transitions.
Secondly when rendering interlaced material , PD9 apparently just line doubles the interlaced field A and hence losing half the information and creating the effect you see.

Hi Chaps,
I do a fair bit of out door stuff. Up to now I have used a home made wind cutter involving foam and rubber bands which was quite effective but kept falling off. (see first photo)
I just purchased (cheaply) online a customised product which I have put onto my newer camera. (second photo). It is somewhat less conspicuous and works better than the first home made effort.
Any other solutions out there? What do others use?

There is an option in produce tab (audio only) to save as windows audio mono. This will create a mono track in both channels.
Alternatively in Wave editor you can copy one channel and paste it in the other then save.

So, you select 720x480 but it does burn at 720x576?
Correct. As long as PAL is selected in preferences.

You'll find that if you have NO video on the timeline and ONLY in the preview, the false file is created.
I find that if I have NO video on the timeline and ONLY in the preview, that a snapshot is created just fine.
I suggest your system has a glitch somewhere, not necessarily PD.
|
|
Again, sorry to contradict but my snapshot works fine from the preview window AND the timeline.
deleted...wrong info
|

Well jpeg works for me as well.
Just tried a .mov file as well. No problems.
|
|
I can create snapshot for m2ts. What file type are you using? I use bitmap.

Just to add my experience.
I have an older PC: Q9550@2.83GHz and (had) 8600GT Video card. Running W764bit 6Gb RAM. I could run PD and edit 1080p60 files from TM700. Splash and WMP played the files smoothly enough with v. occasional stuttering. GPU rendering worked well: about half the time for CPU rendering.
BUT when I was GPU rendering the card obviously was getting close to it's limits: I couldn't really play any other HD video smoothly and moving stuff around my dual HD screens had that annoying "lagging/choppy" effect. It annoyed me a bit so seeing it it holidays I changed the video card to a GTX460 1GB.
Well....must say a good investment. Not only is the GPU rendering for AVCHD four times faster (including 1080p60 @32Mbps) it is seamless in ongoing graphics duties while it is rendering.
Interesting observations though:
Old card the CPU usage was about 30% when GPU rendering with GPU at 90%
New card CPU usage is 80% when GPU rendering with GPU at 40%. This still results in AVCHD 1080p60 being rendered quicker than real time (ie 30min project takes about 25mins to render). Both cards were running the latest nVidia drivers so it beats me how they sort out resource management.

This thread grabbed my attention as I have burnt some PAL AVCHD discs in SD. It is as described not having a PAL option but the actual burning is in PAL format and the 00000.m2ts file in the stream folder is actually PAL format 720x576 so all is well.
edit : SVRT works but new encoding works as well.

Pjc3. Ideally I'd like to actually view the disc with its menu and other functionalities. Even if I can't view it, I'd like to be confident that I can provide a hi-def video to a friend that will actually play in their blu-ray players.
Yep, you can preview the menus etc. Just load the disc, start PD and go to the "capture" Tab. Select the drive and then click on each "title" which plays the menu, the "chapters" play the video segments. I use this method to check the disc before I send them off if I can't be bothered walking 20m to the bluray player
|
|
Are you wanting to just check if it worked or actually watch the disc?
You can load the disc back into PD and see the disc structure and play the titles in "capture" mode (but not actually capturing)
|
|
? PAL vs NTSC issue. Check your preferences perhaps.
