Hello -

I'm am capturing video from my Mini-DV Sony Cam and noticed there are profile settings in the Captured Content section.

It defaults to 8.000 kHz, 8 Bit, Mono 7kb/sec and goes to 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo 187kb/sec
Can somebody give me some information on what this is and what is the best setting for the best quality from my Mini-DV?

Thanks!
Larry

Well logic would dictate the higher the profile level, the better the quality.

Ie 48KHz has much better dynamic range than 8 KHz, 16bit would be better than 8 bit., 187Kbps data rate is much better than 7Kbps etc.

As long as your PC can edit the files easily enough, go the highest data rates for both video and audio. Panasonic SD9, Panasonic TM700, Panasonic SD600, GoPro HD Hero.
