Did the support team tried to install shark codec for windows 7 (shark007.net) ?
Has everybody having this problem tried, before the problem with powerdvd, to install some codec pack or hack to play video on media center ?
maybe some codec or hack could interfere with the cinema mode ?
nevertheless, uninstalling the shark codec pack did not solved the problem for me.
Is there any debug tool/mode/log that could help identifying the problem on the machines having that problem ?
I have never used any codec pack in the computer where I get no audio in cinema mode. So the codec should not be the problem.

I have this issue aswell.

I'm talking to Cyberlink techs and giving them all information they are asking about. I hope they can resolve it.

Yes, Mark II is installed!
|

Sorry I forgot. All titles tested are like this.
2 examples
Swedish "Farsan" and
English "Star Trek" (the new movie)

Hi
I used to be able to get it via the keyboard command L which I have bound to my remote. But no luck.
And it is no present if I right click and view "SELECT MENU"
I can only see it if I click on the popup-menu-icon on the low bar. But I don't want to use it that way since it isn't remote/keybord friendly.
My dilemma is that I have to use ordinary PowerDVD 10 since you guys haven't figured out why PowerDVD 10 Cinema Mode doesn't produce any SPDIF audio

Hi,
When using PowerDVD 10 I can't reach blu-ray popup menus. I have to go back to PowerDVD 9 Cinema Mode to be able to get to the popup menus.
In PowerDvD 10 I can only see First Play and Title menu.

How can you realease something, call it Mark II and still you haven't fixed a major issue like THERE IS NO SOUND.
It should be Mark -1.
Please give this some attention Cyberlink people! I have sent all my info to tech support but nothing happens.

Dear John,
can you share which application you needed to uninstall to make PDVD work?
As we constantly improve PowerDVD quality and robusteness we need to know which application is causing this issue.
Thanks and BR
Michael
Hi!
I uninstalled the following applications
Corel WinDVD 9
TotalMedia Theater 3
AC3Filter
MediaPlayer Classic Home Cinema
Sony Vegas 8
mkvtoolnix
I wasn't really methodical about it so I just uninstalled them all. So I can't pinpoint which one of the application caused the problem for me.

"If you have installed any playback software, please uninstall it as it may be conflicting with PowerDVD software. " I did this and it started working. But that is an UGLY fix. What if I needed the other playback software? I was lucky because at this time, I didn't. But you can't just take for granted that people have to remove alot of software they need or have paid for just so that PowerDVD is going to work. PowerDVD should be able to work WITH my othe software, or else it's pretty useless.

David. Please leave this thread. All you do is irritate people. Everyone in here has a problem with Cinema mode on PowerDVD 10. That is not a coincidence.
You are infecting the thread with your useless comments. I was able to fix my problem by uninstalling a bunch of stuff. But that does not seem to work for anyone else. And since Cyberlink doesn't have a real answer to the problem we can only guess that the problem is in their software.
PowerDVD is probably conflicting with something and they have to figure out what.
So if we can keep this thread clean of posts like yours that does not help in any way, it will be easier for Cyberlink if they would care to stop by, to actually find the posts describing the problem.
To everyone else. Write to Cyberlink support. They answered me pretty quick with followup questions. Do that and give them all their details. Don't forget to link to this thread as it will give them more info on the subject. They will not take this seriously if they don't get enough complaints.

Hi!
I got it working today! I don't know exactly which action made it work. But I had the following applications installed and I uninstalled them all
Corel WinDVD 9
TotalMedia Theater 3
AC3Filter
MediaPlayer Classic Home Cinema
Sony Vegas 8
mkvtoolnix
After I uninstalled those and reinstalled PowerDVD 10 I got my sound working in cinema mode.

Thank you for your reply!
My PC is connected to my 50" Plasma with HDMI via GeForce 9500GT with the latest drivers.
My Audio i connected to my AMP with optical cable from my mb (Gigabyte 73PVM-S2H) with the latest Realtek drivers installed.
So:
Video (PC->TV): HDMI
Audio (PC->Reciever/AMP): Optical

I have now sent a message to Technical support. Let's see what they have to say
|
|
How can this issure just be ignored? I't a pretty serious issue imo
|
|
Maybe I should mention that I can only access the options for Dolby Digital processing and DTS processing when I'm in classic mode. When I enter Cinema Mode I can only choose from System Default and S/PDIF, no other sub options are available here. (Still talking about cinema mode in PowerDVD 10 of course )
|
|
Yes, they are two different programs. We know that
And I have/and want to use Cinema mode since I am running PowerDVD on a HTPC with 1920x1080 resolution on a 50". With that high resolution it is hard to read settings. And it's not only because of readability you use Cinema mode. the mode is specially made for HTPC:s where you use a remote to navigate. I do not use a mouse and keyboard to navigate PowerDVD, I use my Harmony Remote and then PowerDVD Cinema Mode is perfect!
