That looks nice too. What software did you use?

Here is an example of days in 2018. On a green screen so that it can be used at your taste.

and
here a much nicer one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fuoNImcGHQ
but no years between 1968-2018, no doubt not difficult to make?

It helps if you give the details of both the original file and the resulting output file, e.g. those listed in the details tab of the files properties in the menu that opens when clicking the rights mouse button on each file.
Also helps to show what output format you select when redering the output file.
Thanks!

Hmmm that did not happen to me yet. Can you tell us what version of PD you use and maybe show a brief example?
Also good to understand HOW you apply this zoom, as there as several ways to accomplish it.
Thanks!

I agree with Hatti.
Considering the potential higher quality working direct with the source material, the less work/chance for errors in case of rework, I would consider to follow your option 1, but keep the number of files/segments as small as possible (per vacation day?), do the editing and redering and in a last step edit (and render) the results together into one movie (or is that your option 2 already?) If SVRT works it should not be too bad?

PD16 is able to read, edit and write 4K video.
How to play the resulting files depends on specifications of your TV. It may be a USB drive or stick, or you may even use Youtube as an inbetween!
Before you buy PD16, I suggest you download the trial version, to see if and how it works!

Now, in the middle of a series of small projects, I bumped into this anoying thing of the "random" thumbnails shown in the media room after 2-3 projects, that (which is consequent again) are also copied in the timeline when the media file is copied. The thumbnails do not represent the media that is behind it, and that is very confusing and anying.
I can of course repeatedly empty the folders mentioned before in this topic (which does not always help), or save the project, close PD16 and restart it again (which mostly helps). But I would recon that this "feature" should not happen, is very disturbing, and should be fixed in one of the next updates!
I really hope that the PD developers are reading this forum from time to time. In the next release reliability, stability and speed are foremost needed.
Thanks!

Much to my surprise I see activities in my GTX1060 in my laptop using PD16. Likely since the installation of Windows 10 1803. Good performance of the preview screen, even with 4K video.
Is it me? I am seeing things or are there more of you out these seeing the same? And what might have happened?

We all understand your frustration! Many of us have been there too. And we are all on this forum either because we have problems ourselves or because we want to help.
PD16 is not perfect, look at the forum discussions. I also use other applications for things PD does not do well. These other applications sometimes crash too. Video processing apparently is not so easy.
As The Shadowman writes, it would be good to understand what it is you want to do. Maybe you can share and the DXdiag file will also give a bit of insight.

Ashampoo Burning Studio (17, 18 or 19) has a free version that works good for me.

Most menu's can be modified. Right Click and select modify. This is the official way to change menu elements and replace background images.
If you want to change the original image files, then there is the work around by accessing and changing the menu sources files directly
Menu files can be found on disk, try:
c:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\templates\........
depending on the version and available content packs you will find a number of menu's in the folders stored.
downloaded menu files might be found in:
c:\Users\Public\Cyberlink\Downloaded Menus
Background image files are often *.png files
I would suggest that before you play around and change files to make a backup copy of the menu folder structure or copy the folder structure with a new name, so that you still can access/use the original menu.

Thanks Tony for the reaction and the suggestions.
There was also the folder ProjectThumbCash.
I keep those clean I monitor whether this makes a difference!

Currently I am producing a series of slideshows from still images with PD16. Every month of images in a slideshow each in a separate project. After each project I do a "new project". After the second or third project the inserted images for the next show get random thumbnails, not those of the imgae themselves, both in the media windows and on the timeline. The images correctly show when selected in either the window and the timeline. I have not seen a patern for the thumbnails, but most are thumbnails that belong to transitions.
After restarting PD ( I have the latest version) the thumbnails show correctly, until the second or third project again.
Is there someone who has experienced the same, and any suggestions to prevent this from happening?
Thanks!

Did you try this:
- crop the first clip as described (your way or PlaySound's way, whichever that suits you best)
- copy the keyframe attributes of that clip
- past the keyframe attributes for each of the clips (1/3 I understand) that should have the same cropping.

Try this:

or even better this:

(I think you will see some answer around about 2:27)
You need ColorDirector though!

Just to be sure: you have, in the general preferences, selected the "enable shadow files for high res videos" option?
|
|
Select the piece to export in the time line in "edit-mode"
Right mouse-click on/in the selected piece to open a menu
Select Produce range. Production-mode will be opened.
Select the type of output for the export, filename etc. and click on start to export the selected clip.

Hi Dave
Good reaction by The Shadowman and good article! When the recording order is important I do the same: rename the files names and add yy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss before the filename. I use Advanced Renamer, which may be a bit less overwhelming :
