Do you use subtitles?
If not, you could use subtitle markers instead of timeline markers. The advantage there is you can move all the subtitle markers at the same time if you select all the markers first: click on the first subtitle marker, then hold down the shift key and click on the last one. Another advantage is you can copy and paste markers along with clips if you create a range with the range markers first before clicking the "Copy" button. Clips won't snap to subtitle markers, but you can move the cursor to a subtitle marker, then clips will snap to the cursor at that position.
When you add subtitle markers, you will see the text "Double-click to edit." You don't necessarily have to edit them out with a space if you can remember to disable the subtitle track before burning a DVD.
You can jump from one subtitle marker to the next by holding down the CTRL key and using the left or right arrows.

Thanks for the heads up, as I am running Windows 8 Pro. I haven't had any problems since installing the 2707 patch, and I have produced to each format.
The one thing I do before installing programs is turn off the Anti-virus software and create a restore point just in case things go wrong.
Make sure you run Internet Explorer 10 from the Desktop and not in Metro mode. When I ran IE 10 from Metro and tried to post on this forum (this was the only forum I had trouble on), the forum web page would refresh unexpectedly and my typing would be wiped out.
Windows 8 Pro is so much better than XP. I never had Windows 7.

Your statement is not correct, otherwise you have a very underpowered computer.
How long is the clip when it is not sped up? How much did you speed it up?
|
|
It probably has to do with the video levels ranges 16-235 vs. 0-255. Your graphics card software such as AMD Catalyst has a setting just for video to control whether the 16-235 (TV) or the full 0-255 range is used. The 16-235 range will make video frames look "washed out" compared to an image which is usually shown with the full 0-255 range.

<Field Order>2
That results in lower-field-first according to MediaInfo.
In PowerDirector on the Quality Profile Setup dialog, the menu item for field order will be blank.
I haven't analyzed the produced video to verify if the video really is lower field.
EDIT: Verified that it's Lower Field with Vegasaur.

No crashes here either, Cranston. Works on stills and video.

New Workspace will retain the media that's in the library. New Project clears the library of all media except the default media.
Edit: You can paste in either.

...and in addition, if you can find the media players settings for deinterlacing, you can see if the striping goes away when you turn deinterlacing on. Sometimes there are a few methods of deinterlacing you can choose.
In Splash Pro, I had deinterlacing turned on and the video played without striping.

No, optodata, I was just confused. You can't smart render 30p to 60i, although I've fantasized that it could be done.
I didn't see any striping. Different media players will play it back differently because the decoders aren't the same. Some are good and some are bad. Some are software and some are hardware decoders, depending on the options you set for the media player.
LATE NEWS: I see striping with VLC.

I can get PD11 to smart render 3D (side-by-side half) AVCHD from Sony Vegas Pro. This is a trick statement.
What 3D format is your video in? What model 3D camcorder was used?
|
|
Wait a minute, where is the original?
Was that the original source? Are you doing any kind of editing to the video before burning a BR disc? Because you can smart render it if you use the H.264 - HD 1920x1080/60i (24 Mbps) preset on the Create Disc screen. Turn off "enable hardware video encoder" on the Final Output window. You can't smart render (SVRT) if that option is on. The BR disc will then have your original video, more or less, at your original bitrate. No transcoding.

Just a note to say that you can import a transparent PNG image and keep use that for spacing. You could also create a new title and then erase the default text before doing a Save As. That would be transparent.

But Regedit is GUI.
This subject has come up before, if I recall. You could search through this and the other PowerDirector forums to see what was said.

This is just a hint or possible clue. There is a registry key that points to the working directory. It seems that the working directory is where the shadow edit files are put. You would have to experiment and analyze what goes in the working directory. You are own your own. This has not been tested.
In Windows 8 Pro 64-bit, look for the string value "WorkDir" in the root of this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CyberLink\PowerDirector11

To insert an image sequence, you use the Time-Lapse slideshow and set the duration of each image. To start place the images on the timeline and then click the Slideshow button. The Time-Lapse slideshow thumbnail is in the lower right. Click on the thumbnail and follow the wizard.
|
|
To produce only a part of the timeline, you have to select the portion that you want to produce with the in and out markers, just like you do when you want to render the green line, then click the COPY button above the timeline. From the menu select FILE > NEW WORKSPACE (not New Project). Then click the PASTE button that's above the timeline. Produce.
After producing, you will have to open the main project again and repeat the process.

On Cyberlink's product page on the "SPECS" tab is mention about my APU/GPU combination and that a separate download of the AVIVO encoders from AMD was needed in order to enable hardware acceleration. It made a big difference in rendering speed. So make sure you check the requirements on the Product page for PowerDirector 11 Ultra and Ultimate.
The information about the AVIVO package is all the way at the bottom in fine print:

The graphics processor that is in my computer is AMD Radeon HD 7560D. It's actually part of the AMD APU A8-5500 (CPU) component, not the motherboard. In PowerDirector 11 Ultra it hardware encodes MPEG-2, H.264, MKV, MPEG-4 (AVC/h.264), and WMV.

For certain file types, you can create tags in Windows Explorer that will be searchable. Certain file types, such as MOV, and MP4 allow for indexing your own information. You can right-click on a file in an Explorer folder and select Properties and then select the Details tab to view all the information about a file. There's an editable box for title, subtitle, rating, tags, and comments. If these fields aren't editible, then that file type isn't supported. Each file can have multiple tags, where you can put the names of people and places in that clip. When you have your Explorer folder in details view, you can expose these columns by right-clicking in a column heading and then selecting the columns you are interested in displaying. The Tag column in Windows Explorer lets you select mulitple tags (there's a dropdown box on the Tag column header), and when you are done selecting, only the files with those tags are displayed.
I'm in Windows 8 right now, and never had Windows 7, so I don't know if this feature is the same in that operating system.
I've tagged four files now, and that's all I know about it so far.

If Digital River handled your PD11 order transaction, then you might be able to go to their website and download it. Of course if Digital River didn't handle your order, then all this means nothing.
If you have your order number for PD 11, or even if you don't, you might be able to get it from www.findmyorder.com. That's a Digital River web site that handled the order transaction for my purchase.
When you purchased PD11, you probably entered a password specifically for that purchase. That is the password you need, not your Cyberlink account password. If you don't have a password, then you can use the last 5 digits of your credit card that you used.

My observation is that the title creeps just because you open the title designer and do a save and exit. You don't even need to change the content or do any alignments.
You could copy and paste only the first title on the timeline, or drag and drop the same title from the Title room to the timeline. When you are done modifying each title, all the titles should have crept the same amount.
