Has anyone had any success using Junction Point (Directory Hard Links) to steer PD11 temp and shadow files to a drive other than C I know there is a way to set this up by doing an audited install of Windows, but at this point using a junction point link is a more attractive idea. If this possible it would be great to use a 4gig ram disk... any thoughts?

This is just a hint or possible clue. There is a registry key that points to the working directory. It seems that the working directory is where the shadow edit files are put. You would have to experiment and analyze what goes in the working directory. You are own your own. This has not been tested.

In Windows 8 Pro 64-bit, look for the string value "WorkDir" in the root of this key:

Thanx Xerox... but no thanks. I'm a GUI kinda guy. Don't want to be messing with the registry. Ultimately i'd rather not have to clean out temp files and defrag my C drive all the time. Maybe the Cyberlink developers can produce a patch that gives customers a choice of where to direct shadow files. Each computers OS, hardware and configurations should make leaving temp files on the C drive a possibility, but not a necessity.

But Regedit is GUI.

This subject has come up before, if I recall. You could search through this and the other PowerDirector forums to see what was said. Gateway DX4380, AMD A8-5500 Quad Core 3.2GHz with ATI Radeon HD 7560D; 16GB RAM; 1 TB SATA 7200 RPM; Windows 8 Pro 64-bit; PDR11, PDVD12.

Ah, why was I notified of this when the reply was intended for another user?

I checked my email and got this message: "Your topic "junction points" has received an answer since your last visit. You can access this message using the following link......" but the message was not for me, rather for Patinthanh from Nam SSSS. Naturally I didn't include that "link" in this post reply.
