Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! I guess I will have to look into the Particle designer to create my own. smile
Simple question: is it possible to make this kind of animated titles in PD? And if the answer is "yes", how is it done?

Title example

The example is of course very simple, but I'm just curious if I can make something like this, or even more complicated, in powerdirector 365.

I guess the bigger question for me would be - why are you wanting to produce everything separately?

Well, maybe I want it for the wrong reasons. I'm trying to restore and enhance some 28 year old noisy, grainy, flat colored footage. As much as I like using PD17, I really hate it that for serious color correction, denoising etc. I have to open every clip in Colordirector one after another, make my corrections, go back to PD and repeat ... The constantly switching between programs for me is a PITA. It just doesn't feel fluid and I hate it. So I thought maybe I can do the preliminary editing in PD17 and then use Resolve for all the color correction work.
But right now as I'm typing this, I think I've found my own work-around: do all the rough editing in PD17, produce as 1 movie and then load in Resolve, and use the Resolve scene detect function to get back to my separate clips. :
Thanks Optodata. But unfortunately that's not quite what I'm looking for.

I know I can produce only a part of my movie using the in-out range. In fact I use that a lot for testing purposes. But what I want to do is produce all my clips on the timeline as separate mp4's in one go. I currently have 112 clips on the timeline and if I have to render those one after another using the in-out range method it will take me a lot of time. So I was wondering if it can be done faster by telling PD I don't want those clips as 1 movie, but as 112 seperate ones.
Hi all,

just wondering if maybe I'm overlooking something: is there a way in PD 17 to produce a movie as separate clips?
I mean every used clip as a separate mp4 in one go?
Sven and Opto, many thanks for your research an work-around!

I had the same issues, but the "Remove all unused content" trick worked for me. That is to say: partly. The waveforms do load now, but soooooo slow.... . The project I tested it on is 38 min long, has some 150 clips and 5 mp3's as background music so no real big deal I guess.
I have just opted for a one year subscription, but if these quirky bugs are still there when my subscription ends, it will be byebye CL and maybe sooner because of all the lost time due to the buggy software.

In the meantime I'm learning (the free version of) Davinci Resolve 15 and if the workflow is much smoother than PD and it brings back the joy of editing, maybe that $300 one time fee for the Studio version will be totally worth it ;
Even for a hobbyist like me!

Nevertheless I will be following these forums for updates and I hope CL gets the job done and will deliver a stable buggy free package.
Quote You may just want to use the new pre-cut feature. That might hep you keep things manageable, and you won't ever have to "re-produce" any clips.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I want to use some of the clips in another program, so I guess the pre-cut feature is no option then. But for those parts that don't need to be used outside PD17 it is a good tip so I will definitely use this option!
Hi all, here I am again with another qeustion.
I have captured a 90 minute videotape spanning several days of filming and want to edit that in PD17. To start with I'm thinking of splitting is in smaller sections that each cover a day and render those into separate mp4's.
But what happens when I import those new mp4's in a new project and render this project again as a whole? Do I lose quality because of the second processing?
Ok guys, I have another question about the background music that comes with DS 365: I can find them now in PD17 and I see that I have to download them before I can use them. But where on my harddisk are they stored?
With my subscription came another 10 songs in a different download, and I want to add them to the program. But how? I guess copying them to the location where the other tracks are stored, but I can't find these?

Any thoughts?
Thanks Bernd!
I recently bought the director suite 365 which, according to the specs here: https://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector-video-movie-editor/comparison_en_EU.html ,comes with 100 background tracks and 300 soundclips. For some reason I can't seem to find these tracks and soundclips in Powerdirector. What am I missing?
Thanks Warry,

the duplicate solution was what I was looking for!
And as many times: it's actually that simple that I have no idea why I didn't think of it myself... tongue-outlaughing
Is there a way to keyframe out a 3rd party effect from New Blue or Boris? Let's say I want to start a clip using the BCC Rays cartoon filter and using keyframes after 5 secs this effect should not be applied anymore. I know I can adjust the setting of the effect(s) using keyframes, but I don't know how to make it gradually transform back into the original clip so that the effect is no longer visible.

Is there a way this can be done?
Quote Hello AdrieH,

Welcome to the AudioDirector forum smile

Your issue is concerning, & has been raised previously in the forums.

I've been attempting to replicate it here, but without luck. It appears that you're editing the audio part of a recorded video. Is that correct? Or was it a separate audio bed?

Could you please post all the relevant MediaInfo reports for your video clip(s), seaparate audio track (if applicable) & the WAV file returned from ADR after editing?

Hi PIX,

this is the medianfo from one of the original clips where it happens:

And this one is from the generated WAV-file:

I see now that the original AAC-audio stream also is shorter than the video file. Does that imply it's not a ADR problem?
Still, it's a strange thing that with some clips it's no problem, and with some other clips it is. Hope this helps a bit.

Adrie
Sometimes after I've edited an audio file in AudioDirector 7 and the WAV is send back to PD15, the audioclip is a bit shorter than the videoclip it belongs to, and also shorter than the original audioclip. Linking audio and video is no longer possible then. Any thoughts what might be the cause of this?

Thnx for the link. It seems I'm not the only one smile

I will use the VLC work around.
Just because I'm curious: I noticed a difference in resolution between my film and a snapshot I took from it in PD15. The movie (h.264 AVC) is 1440x1080, but the snapshot is 1920x1080.

Can someone explain that difference?
Hello all,

I'm new to PD 15 and I'm trying to learn to use the program as good as I can.

Just started my first project (a simple holiday movie). In my assets there are about 250 clips, spanning the 7 days of my holiday.

What is a recommended workflow? I'm thinking of making 1 project of each day and then later on load the 7 finished projects in one "master project". Is that a good way of doing it? Or does the quality of the final film decrease because I render each project in fact 2 times now?

Just curious :
