I've read how bad the support is with Cyberlink but now I have to experience it. I should have listenened! It's been 6 days now, and I still can't install my new Cyberlink PowerDirector 16. All the other programs installed OK, just not the one I need NOW! I have been back and forth with technical support, they keep asking me to send them certain reports which I do, but I still can't get it. I'm not sure why they can't just send me a new Product Key!!! So frustrated! I've got a big job on the go, and I can't do anything!!! Gggrrrrr. Karen
Last year, there were some tutorials on youtube for special effects with PowerDirector that aren't available anymore. One in particular that I'm looking for is the one where the guy jumps over a house and lands in front of the camera, runs towards the camera. Does anyone know if there's a tutorial out there for that? I've already filmed what I needed but now I need to put it together and I didn't realize the youtube account was closed. It's for my baseball video for our year end banquet in Sept. Thanks
I received the video from a friends usb stick. I put it in movie maker and split it in 2 as I thought it would fit but it didn't. OK, original must be about 13 gigs not 16 THANK YOU, I will try the Smartfit format. Will let you know.
K
It's a workout video, 6 separate 25 minute sessions. I have split it in 2 now so each video is about 6 gigs. Format is .wmv
The DVD is probably just under 2 hours.

Thanks.

I need help. Is there a way to compress a 16 gig video to a DVD in Cyberlink 10. The only way I have found is thru windows movie maker but u have to have vista or XP and I have windows 7. Once compressed I want to burn in cyberlink. Thanks Karen
Thank you for your help. There were 2 Default 3D titles I could choose from and I was picking the wrong one Thanks again, it works now and I have my 3D cube. This forum is awesome! Karen
Thanks Carl but that doesn't make sense that it's the disk. I have burned 30 disks and about 5 of them are poor quality. When I select 8.0 from 48.0 it seems to work fine but now when i go to select the 8.0, the only option is 5.0. Very weird. Not sure how to fix that. My computer is quite new and so are the disks. Thanks again for your response. K
I've watched all the tutorials and I can't seem to find the 'Extrusion' tab. I'm in Title Designer but I don't get the Extrusion/Transparency screen. Help!
I too own several coasters now because of the quality of my DVD. When I select 8.0 instead of 48 which seems to be the default, then the disk looks pretty good. But now, when I look for the 8.0 it gives me 5.0 and no other choice!!!! Its very frustrating. What needs to be selected so that I can choose 8.0. Why does it only give me 5.0. I think thats why I'm getting the poor quality.

Thanks
K
Just to let you know my video was a hit this past Saturday night. I was able to get a clear crisp copy done after many tutorials and what settings to select. Didn't need to do it as a BluRay.
thanks everyone for your help.

Thanks for your reply. My DVD is for my softball banquet coming up. It is about 250 photos (large format) and about 6 little video clips. I did a green screen with 4 of the video clips and the subject was all done with my Sony camera which is decent. I do this video every year, but this is the first year with Cyberlink. A Bluray is out of the question, I don't own one, and I bring my own DVD player to the hall where I'm showing it on a big screen. The entire DVD is 30 minutes.
So are you saying I have to select 1920 by 1080 and that will help it??? There must be another way other than a bluray, no?

Thanks again
Karen
Hi all: I finally finished my project in PD 10, and the quality of my DVD is terrible. There has to be something I'm doing wrong.
What are the exact selections I'm to choose when I'm creating my disc. I noticed the recording speed should be at 8.0 is that correct? What else should I be selecting to get my project looking like it does on the computer. Also, what's the difference between selecting 2D and 3D.
thanks.
Karen
Thanks Tony! I was able to find them but unfortunately the last date its showing is Sept 23rd still :o(

K
I'm definitely turning it on so this doesn't happen again. I restored from 3 days ago so it wasn't a total loss!
Boy did I learn my lesson never to move files around!
K
No like an idiot I said ignore all then I read the forum. I don't seem to have an auto save file?.....?
I was just going to burn my nearly finished project and everything I worked on for the past 2 months on my timelines ARE GONE!!!
Someone please help me. I don't understand. I looked up 'restoring previous versions' but the only version it's showing is sept 23rd! I've been working on it all night and I can't find a version from this week. Can anyone help me? Its for my softball league and I have to show it on Oct 5th. Thanks you. K
I miss using movie maker. Panning and zooming was so easy................;(
I'm also having issues with moving any of my photos around. If I want to put a photo earlier on my timeline, cutting and pasting just doesn't work. If I "overwrite" I lose other photos and I have to re-do the duration etc, if I insert, then it splits my music. What am I doing wrong? Signed: Frustrated Newbie
Thank you - I will try that. Does this count for my music too?? I hope I don't have to move my music, just to close the gap.
I'm such a newbie with CB. So many things to learn :o( My softball Video is being shown in 2 weeks.
thanks again.
Hi Laurence. I'm not sure if this is the issue you're having but I had the same thing happen and was told the following:

If you're inserting pictures & titles in between others and you want it all to stay in sync, unlock the tracks & make sure you've checked "Link all tracks..." in Preferences > Editing. Everything will shift when you insert or remove things.
