Hi all. I had the same problem unstable videos ( Jerky). No matter what i tried in preview, authoring, burning, the end results was not as good as what came out of the camera. Ask carl 312 I gave him a hard time. What i wanted to know what part of my computer was causing the problem. I came across this. Hit start button --control panel--systems--Windows Experience Index-=--. Read your lowest subscore, mine was 5.0 Primary hard disk. That tells you the weakest part of your computer, and can only perform to that level (5.0) the rest of my score was, 7.4--7.4--7.9--7.9--5.0 . 7.9 is the highest score you can achieve . By those readings I thought i had a top computer but the hard disk could not cope with the reading and writing on the same disk for HD editing. I bought and installed a SATA 7500 rpm hard disk and my rating went to 7.0 It has improved my blu-ray playback by 90% The only part of the video that is unstable is the first 4seconds. perhaps a 10,000 rpm hard disk would be better. To sum it up I believe if your computer cannot have a sub score of 6.5/7.9 forget about HD editing and burning of a blu-ray disk.Perhaps ALL moderators can confirm or deny this . Also all power director 10 users that claim they have good results please state your lowest sub score. Good luck.

[youtube]http://youtu.be/_3CBHeOnViy This a raw video from my camera without any editing.I then saved it to C drive Put it through power Director 10 and save to file, E drive . Very little difference. Put it through PD 10 again and enable all hardware acceleration and viewed through preview window in full HD Resolution It was great. what is going on here?
As I was reading and writing to the same hard disk, E with a USB 2cable it got throttled. When i was editing anything under 1gb with no menus or titles it could handle it. Once above 1gb with the works it collapsed.Purchased a E sata cable and things only got better. Is this possible or am I dreaming.

Hi .This is what it looks like. Graeme

Hi. Tried WMV and saved it to file in drive E. Played it back using Media Player, Hopeless. How can I put it on YouTube so others can see it? I had downloaded AMD 11.11 one week ago, also update for Power director 10. 1129a last night. Feeling is, it is the card. I will do what Robert J /oz has suggested and report back.

Hi , ro22tol that is exactly the question I wanted to be answered, and now Carl312 has answered it. You do not have to check hardware acceleration in Preferences before Producing. Carl stated in produce you have options to do it, but he doesnt, because he gets very strange results for AVCHD. Hip hooray I havent gone insane. At this point I do exactly the same as Carl and get very strange results, if i use acceleration or not. WHY? IS it the AMD video card, that cannot handle it? (I would change) or Blu-ray burner a (LG super multi blue)which picks the burning speed it self and can not be changed?.I have not used WMV , but will experiment and let you know. How many other AMD users are having this problem?

Congratulations Carl312. That is the best answer all five off us in my suburb have read about that issue.( WHY) Three of them are here now pushing me to ask another. When editing we all disable HARDWARE ACCELERATION ,(open CL to speed up preview and render),(enable hardware decoding). PRODUCE, allow SVRT on single IDR h.264 video. And have preview window down to high preview resolutions which seems to be most stable. All want to burn to a DVD or BLu-ray to play back on full HD TV. The question is, DO we have to ENABLE all what we have disable mention above, before rendering and authoring and burning. all is it automatically done when the video is rendered when you enable hardware decoding and SVRT tick box in PRODUCE. (MTS files from camcorder to wd hard drive then picked up by Power Director 10 and displayed as mts.) Our computers profile are about the same as yours Carl except AMD phenom 11*6 2.8GHz ATI Radeon HD 5850, Power Director 10 Ultra 64 build 1012 , that is why we we are hammering you Carl . AMD Guru. The bottom line is ,most of our finish product is terrible to view, not as good as when play direct from camcorder to TV with HDMI cable. The next post will be Help.

Thankyou carl312, that answers my question.Next question, HD Video Processing (shadow file).Everyone has been asked to disable it in this forum, what is its purpose and does anyone use it? Certainly does not work for me. Sorry to be technical .

May be someone can help with the difference between Rendering and then Authoring to produce a video movie, blu-ray before burning, and also is Burning speed and recording speed mean the same. All of this with Power Director 10.

I had the same problem 10 months ago. My LG bluray player would not play a blu-ray disk with a PD menu , delete it, and it played .I did marched into a electronic store and asked the assistant to try other players.(Entry level players )Pana,Pioneer ,LG The only player that could handle that disk was Sony. All Models. The staff were highly amused and I came home very happy, and have not had any trouble. All of this was with Power director 9 and now have pd 10 and still no trouble.

HD-PD I downloaded your video again and saved it. Played it first as your raw file throughPowerDVD10 and got frozen frames at the beginning and end of the file(.In between was excellent.)Then I drag and dropped it in to power director 10( full version) it would not accept it because it was NTSC., as you stated a raw file straight from your video camera. when I agree for PD 10 to change it to PAL (Australia) because that is what I set my camera and PD 10 to it played fine without any hesitations. Could this be the answer, I am no guru in this field so could someone check it out, please? Graeme.

HD PD I am using the full version PD 10 and the latest update. AMD Phenom11x6. 16gb Ram memory. ATI Radeon series HD 5850 with the latest driver. Also, in windows media player it does the same.Windows 7 home premium. With this system, since PD8 Ihave never had a lock up or crash, which is great. But the quailty of the video is terrible.Cannot win.

HD PD .Yes I am getting the same results as you. not only at the end of the clip, but also at the start. I downloaded your clip of the cat running across the verandah, it took one step backwards at the start and then a frame froze at the end. clever cat. Graeme

What file is it that some blu-ray players do not like and will not play . All Sonys will play. Samsungs willnot. (That is PD9 burned disk with menu template added) Graeme1946

That is the point,I dont want to burn again. It took me 32 minutes to burn the first video, i average 4 GB per video, 4 into 50=12.5 videos @32 minutes=6.6hours,that is doing it all at once. Now if I erase the eleven videos each time to put a new one on that is 72.6 hours.I think my wife is getting the divorce papers ready now.Can someone save my marriage. Graeme
