Is this just me but whenever typing a post and reaching the end of the working window, your text doesn't start scrolling up revealing new typing area but rather remains still and your typing goes beyond the visibility....

Say you need to delete 1.5sec of a jerky video at the beginning of a clip. Are below methods ABSOLUTELY identical in their final result?
- drag the edge of clip in timeline “IN” with your mouse
- place the scrubber to the desired position of the clip and hit "SPLIT" then delete that unwanted clip to the left
- use “TRIM” method by going inside the clip and placing “left-trim” scrubber at the desired position.

Dafydd,
Thanks for your explanation. Can you say that "No Effect" is really a transition? Well, from "editing program" prospective of course it is but to the naked eye it appears as two clips are without any transition.
Now, speaking of those TV ads, during video production, do editors use "No Effect" transition or manually edit audio (fade in / out) and video (clip/trim) of each clip’s joints?
We all very often have jerky videos at the beginning and the end of the clips whenever pressing the "record" button too hard, too soon or too late. So what is the best (easiest/most efficient/least lossy) way of going about it?

Common Steve, just sleep over it and get back.

mtrapp,
I am learning that TS is only good for the common answers to common problems. I am also learning that for more complicated problems, the help from the users on this Forum, is of more use.
My questiones are getting more advanced so TS answers are turning more into the excerpts from the manual, as you fairly noticed.

What microphone would you recommend to buy to get a crisp studio like audio for voice overs.

Allen,
Do not forget to download and run BD advisor. It will tell you right away your strengths and weakness of your hardware. I'd wanted an upgrade myself until I learned I had more than enough juice.

Jan,
i did too regret about wasting my $$$ on a Adobe PE 7.0.
Cyberlink is the way to go!
By the way, care to share about your found solutions? It will help the new commers with similar problems.

Just click on the clip with the "m-man" then "Powertools button" and uncheck any of the four available boxes. This will eliminate all the effects to the clip in question.

Alex,
You cannot fit much of AVCHD on a DVD.
Marc,
same dilemma here. For now, I am producing AVCHD .M2TS files and watch them on my PS3 by copying files to a compact flash card. I also keep all my original projects on the second HDD to be later burned to BDs once they as well as BD burners drop down in price.

Klaus,
Visit this link, Download BD Advisor and test your PC for enough "juice": http://www.cyberlink.com/stat/bd-support/enu/index.jsp
One of the solutions that worked for my vista 64 platform was reduced history steps from default 50 to 1-2. This can be changes in the properties.
|
|
Jeffrey,
also, how large is your project?
|
|
Stuart,
AVCHD format CANNOT be played on DVD players. It is like trying to play DVD disk on a CD-player.
AVCHD format can be burned to a blank DVD though (space permitted) as well as Blue Ray discs but CAN ONLY be played on Blue-Ray players , Playstation3. DVD players do not recognise this format.
Hope you are clear now.

sjordi,
Did not clearly read your very first post.
Indeed, all extra content can be downloaded FREE at DirectZone. I am getting additional menus there.

Adriano,
I found out-of-sync audio in some of my clips, still in the library, as well. I sent a ticket to tech-support, asking for some insight.
|
|
Raymond,
Thing to note is that my out of sync audio isn't extracted but is part of the original clip on the master track. What I am also wondering now is that my previous projects were saved while using previous build 2220c and the final video that is I am enhancing now are being produced by build 2508. I was wondering if starting the project from scratch will eliminate the problem with out of sync audio.
|
|
another thing to note.
Highlight the clip
Select copy
Move the scrubber/slider to where you want the clip
Click paste.
PASTE option might not be available in the menu UNLESS you are right clicking with your mouse pointer within audio/music tracks.

I also do not know what causes Choppiness in the preview window when playing in MOVIE mode. A clip would play well and then the second clip (after a transition) will get jerky. Switiching to CLIP mode seems like solving the choppiness for the clip.
I also tried to check and see if it was the CPU or the card. I downloaded GUI from NVidia web-site and kept an eye on the stats. My video memory usage never goes over 58-60% (I have a 6Gb NVidia 9500GS).
And all four of my processros do not exceed 23% each during playback. I do not believe now this is anything to do with hardwatre. Must be the soft.

sjordi,
Have you installed "Contente_Pack"?

Tried your link and cannot see what you meant by "under #4".

Raymond,
No fix was found. I tried playing around the project deleting clips with effects, deleting transitions, moving clips around and still some clips main audio goes out of sync with main video. This is VERY frustrating/annoying as it completely ruins the pleasure of watching the final movie.
By the way, it started from the moment I ticked "Allow SVRT" (I think) but I could be wrong. I will need to continue playing around to find out what exactly causes it. If you look at SVRT info in the attached photo above, you will see that apart from clip-transition-clip breakages on the SVRT track, there are some additional sections. I suspect those additional segments might be the reason for the delays. But what causes them to appear that way? I will have to try to delete clips from the timeline which have multiple segments on SVRT track and re-import them back to see if that fixed SVRT track.
Do I make sense?

deBabba,
I did too always thought that if you apply "No Effect" transition it cuts away the last few and the first few frames of the two transitioned videos where you likely to have camera shakage as well as fades the audio in and out with just one click of a button.
Without transition, one will have to manually trim/clip the ends of the videos and manually apply audio fading himself. Am I correct?
