  • Hey All! Need your expertease...

So I recently uploaded a years worth of videos off my Sony HD vidoe camera to my Micrososft OneDrive where I store and organize everything. They auto upload as MTS format.

They import and play just fine in PD 365, put I can't play or privew them on my Dell laptop when in the Cloud to see if I'm going to need to import a particulatr video or not into 365. Is there a safe file / driver I can download to Dell that will allow to my watch it before uploading into PD?

2nd question: When prododucing my Project -- whats the best format to go with for a Blu-Ray disc? MP2, MP4? H.246?

Thanks so much in advance for any input you may have!

    My Best,
    Jarred

Success!
Success!

I can't thank you both enough, truly a major help!! I exchanged out the Fitness Pack 4 w/ the timer from that pack -- it was able to be produced and (as you can see by the pic I attached) and burned just fine!

Again, THANK YOU!
Quote I'm downloading your packed project now, so thanks for doing that!

I'm unable to download the DxDiag from the forum, so if you just drop a copy in the shared OneDrive folder I can access it that way.

Ok -- I opened up the PD Folder and added that Dx in there -- let me know if you don't see it. I greatly appreciate the help, I'm pretty good w/ PD, it's just the troubleshooting that you need sometimes I'm not the best at.

I just added my DxDiag that I ran a short while ago. I've not done the Pack Project Materials, but will give it a shot!

This should work:

Quote Are you comfortable sharing your project? If so, please use Pack Project Materials under PD's File menu and save everything to a cloud folder on Google Drive or OneDrive. Please see the Share a file publicly section in this Google FAQ or this OneDrive support page if you need more info.

Even if you'd prefer not to share your project, please follow the steps in the Read Me Before Posting guide and attach the DxDiag file so we can see the details of your computer.

Quote I assume there's something wrong with your custom produce profile. Use the default MPEG-2 1920 x 1080/24p (25 Mbps) profile and see if that works.

I actually just tried that, same error issue.
Hello-

I've spent the last few weeks working on a Home Movie, when I went to produce it, before buring this project to a disc, I am receive the following message:

"Production unsuccessful. Please ensure your graphics card driver is up to date, and update to the latest version of Windows Meida Player. You can also try to output the production in a different video format."

I've never had this message before, and I can only assume they mention WMP, becuase I extraceted some audio from You Tube, and it saved as an AAV file via WMP. However, I think it's up to date. Including my graphics card.

Then I thought, I'll just burn the project without Producing it, then I got this message....(also attached pic)

Burning Unsuccessful

Error Code: eC00C0008

Possible Causes:
Transcoding engine's front end stream error

1. File Broken
2. File Missing
3. Out of Memory

I have 140GB free space on my computer, and I don't have any missing or non working files,

Any help here is greatly appreciated!
Hi All,

I'm making a Thanksgiving Blu-ray to share with a few family members. 2 of the 4 Thanksgivings were recorded in 480p, 4:3.
The other two were recorded in 1080p, 16:9.

What settings should I apply so the entire dics looks accurate? I'm not interested in stretching/cropping the older years, I'd prefer keep them the 4:3..

Thank you!
Jarred
Hey Guys-

Really anxious to hear your feedback & input! My external hard drive has recently been corrupted, not allowing me access to any of my files. TONS of video and pics lost. Geek Squad said what caused the corruption was by simply unplugging the USB connect, and going clicking on the drive and clicking "Safely Remove" or "Eject".

So I'm now wondering about using One Drive via their Cloud. It's 1TB of space. Does anyone else use One Drive when importing Media into PD?

Thanks!
Jarred

Hello all,

My current editing laptop is about 6 years old, and giving me tons of issues. I am looking to make a purchase here soon for a new editing laptop. In your experience, is there anything you recommend that is "must have", when considering which laptop purchase to make.

thanks!
I am wondering, is there a method that effective when saving your video projects on your computer?
I would like an easy, but organized process to save my home movies.

I realize if/when you move files around, it can cause your saved project to become corrupt.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks!
Jarred
I really appreciate your help here!

I have probably 12 - 15 projects saved, they all have worked perfectly. What I can't understand, is that I was putting the finishing touches on a Thanksgiving 2010 & 2011 Home Video project on October 18th, and on the morning on Oct 19th, I started getting this "Server Busy" error. Dell somehow got that to stop, but now none of my saved projects will load. Or, if they do, I can't make any simple edits, muchless, burn it.

I'm tempetd to have Dell just format my laptop and start fresh. My saved projects are saved on my extrenal hard drive, which is where I save all of my pics and videos that I work from.

Also, that image in settings/project, I looked on a blank PD templet and that option is un-checked.

Thanks again, I really do apprecaite the help and input.

Some people seem to have all kinds of problems with PD18/365, and others are able to edit without any significant issues. I see that you've posted several times about problems you're having, but you haven't provided any technical details about your system, and that's probably what's causing at least some of your particular issues.

Can you please follow the steps in the Read Me Before Posting sticky thread and attach your DxDiag results here? That will assist us greatly in seeing what issues might be present, while also ruling out other potential culprits.

I have attached my DX file. This issue has been going on for one full month now. Dell Tech support, I've spent nearly 10 hours on the phone with them, over 3 phone calls. They feel my laptop is perfectly fine.

The "Server Busy" error has stopped all together, but none of my saved PD projects will properly load, PD crashed (Not Responding) during loading the media.
I've been using the 365 subscription via PD 18, I haven't had any issues with it until about 12 days ago, now it's crashing left and right.

First it was saying "server busy", now that's gone away and it literally just shuts down after giving PD a command, as an example: when I clicked on the chaperts icon on the left had side to make some marker edits to my chapters, PD tried to load that command, and then it it crashed.

I cant do anything with it.

Are others experience this is as well?
Just today I started getting this error on my most recent Home Movie project in PD 18. A window pops up and says "Server Busy", and it gives me the option of:

Switch to..
Retry
Cancel (greyed out)

Stops loading my video at 20% or 22%.

I've never had this happen before, and I don't want to start over on this project -- what can I do?
Quote Burning the BD as MPEG-2 would probably remedy the pause you note.

Jeff

Oh really? I should have mentioned, on this particular project is the first and only time I have burned in a format of H.265

I read somewhere that was a better produced/finished copy as it relates to video quality.

I will give your suggestion to try, thank you
A new problem I've encountered...and not sure what to make of it, or how to fix it.

I've created a new Blu-ray video "Home Movies: 2017 - 2018", the runtime is approx 1hr 45 mins.

Used PD 17, and burned the finished product to my Verbatim BD-R DL 50GB Disc.

There are 3, maybe 5 total spots on the Home Movie where the begining of the Chapter will immeadietly "pause", but you still hear the audio. I have to fast forward past the qlitch, and the movie resumes perfectly fine.

Other than that, there doesn't seem to be any issues.

Has anyone else had this happen? What can I do?

This problem I have here when I add over 100 video files, let alone worse.
It has some relation with activated shadow files.
If this is the case the simple solution is to divide the project into 2 or 3 parts.

I have now turned off the shadow files on this project. I've always created my home movies in one project, but I'm not sure how to divide it, then create one Blu-ray Disc of everything.
