Right, because the timeline image only exists as a preview image inside PD, while all media library clips are true external entities. PD requires "produced" (actual) clips, for importing into the Motion Tracker.
You'll just need to do another round trip using GIMP or Paint.net on a timeline snapshot, as originally described in this thread. Once that transparent image has been created, import it into the media library and then into the Motion Tracker.
Thanks again Opto!!!
I have tried saving them in PiP Designer as overlays - then they show up.
For Video - yeah, I have to render them first then re add them to the image library.
Sincerely,
Veepo

Hello,
I took an image from my media library, put it into a time line - cropped it and did a Chroma Key on the image.
The background is gone, I now want ot use that image as a tracked object - motion tracker...but it does not show in my medial library.
Help?
Thanks,
Veepo

The Screen is blank - I can't see any video source to track

Hi Pix,
I am trying to cut a certain portion of music out. The issue is it moves so fast, I cannot tell where it actaully begins and ends. So I want to slow it down so I can hear where the music changes or for a word, to cut or copy. It is the original music, not edited in any way.
Does that make more sense?
Thoughts?

Hello Veepo,
I'm not exactly sure in what way you're trying to "mix" or modify music. Are you blending tracks together or shortening an existing track?
In basic terms, using the displayed wave form would be my first point of reference for cutting & adding sections. Expanding the timeline to zoom in helps with precision.
Are you particularly wishing to shift/bend the pitch?

I see the value of good lighting now.
Stay tuned...
And thank you again!

The only reason people use green or blue screen is that they are colors that do not match anything in the background. If a person wears a green shirt and then uses a green screen and then chroma keys it the body will be gone. So if a person has a green shirt on then they use a blue screen.
Yes, you are just doing a Croma key no matter what color you use. I use an app to help me. https://youtu.be/mt1B35pyD7w
Lighting is the most important when you chroma key more than just the color of the background you use. More light makes it easier to chroma key. Also with anything you learn more by doing. So set that camera up to take a 2 minutes video of you reading to the camera and load it into PD and practice that chroma key. Try different lights in different spots. Until you find what works for you.

Hello,
I am trying to cut pieces of music out using AD from PD.
How do I slow down the music so I can find when a beat drops or there is a break - so I can cut or manipulate there?
I see pitch control.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Veepo

That is good news.
I have white walls - can I use those?
Once I do make a video against a solid surface (white walls) then what? I see you have a pile of videos - should I look at "How to Green Screen"?
Thank you very much for your help!

it does not have to be a green screen. You can use a white sheet if you like. Just as long as it is one color and you do not wear that color. If you wanted to you could use a red sheet but if you wear a red shirt then you would disappear too.
OR if you can find a wall that is the same color that will work too. You would do the same thing you do with a green screen with chroma key

Hello,
I found a video that is similar for another product:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUBFHrMkQLE
Anyone able to do this with PD?
Btw, if I am not using the right terminology - please let me know. I hear the term 'alpha channel' a lot.
Thanks,

Thanks yet again!
I was trying to use all Cyberlink tools together - PowerD and PhotoD. I sort of figured out GIMP as well.
This tutorial video helped https://youtu.be/dFjmF6hDrKk
But I needed your help to point me in the right direction!
Many thanks!

See the original post: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/80921.page .
PhotoDirector/Edit/Etract or Compose/Background Removal/Select the brush tools and use them/Apply/Export.
See the attached result with the background removed with PhotoDirector. Gimp works too and it is free as shown by optodata.

Hello,
I think I can do this on Gimp, but anyway to do it with PhotoDirector?
GIMP: see method 2
Thanks,
V

Hmmm...
It is not working so well. I have managed to select the areas I do not want and delete them, but the area is now white
So the white areas not show up instead of being transparent - covering up the video.
I used: https://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Transparent-Image-Using-Gimp
Method 2
Thoughts?
Thanks

Yeah, this PC was built especially to be my main editing machine. Here's a quick article on the steps needed to create a transparent image on GIMP. A simple internet search will turn up more links (for GIMP and/or Paint.net), if needed.

Thank you very much!!!
I have GIMP and Paint.net. I assume it will say 'create a transparent .png'? Yes, I am not an expert in this stuff.
Btw, will PhotoDirector do the same thing - create transparent .pngs?
Luna vs a sock - nice!!
That is quite the specc'd out system you have!! Wow!

You have to create the transparent .PNG image outside of PD first.
GIMP and Paint.net are great free programs that will let you do that, and then you can import the image into the Motion Tracker tool and it will work the way you want:

Hello,
I was trying the motion tracker with an image.
The image was cropped than mask put over it.
I think added it as a tracker.
While it tracks well, the imsage still retains the back area not in the mask.
Any way to make the black area transparent so it layers in with the video?

Because your timeline scrubber is at a video clip in the timeline, move to a pic and you should have it.
Jeff
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!
You have a gift for helping really dumb people (me!)
Is there anyway I can crop a video????
Oh that crop zoom and pan option!!!
Did I just help myself?
Thanks!

Odd, I do not have that icon. Using PD18

Hi Veepo -
tomasc has explained that you can crop photos in both PhD & PDR. Maybe these screenshots will help point you in the right direction.

The crop tool is located in the top left of PhotoDirector in Adjustments.
In PD18 highlight the photo on the timeline and a crop tool button will appear on the top left just above the timeline.
Hello,
Sorry - I do not see it....are saying I would see it on this bar:
(see image)
and thank you for helping me out!

Hello,
Is there anyway to edit a photo in PD18? I have some photos where I want to crop the image or cut an area out. Make my masks better.
PhotoDirector does not have this ability.
Is this possible in PD18?
Thanks,
V

Ok, i know what is going on...I have a licensed version, but I entered AD8 from PD - I am guess that is why it would not let me produce it.
Quitting it took me back to PD and put my track there...

Hello Veepo,
That a confusing set of statements, to me. I hope we're able to clarify.
Is AudioDirector 8 installed on your PC? Do you have the most recent update installed [8.0.2817.0]?
When you say "greyed out" in your header, do you mean the updates icon?
If ADR8 is installed, what happens when you try to produce your edited audio?
The more detail you can provide, the more likely we are to be able to resolve it.

Hello,
I have AudioDirector listed My Products.
But I cannot save or Produce
Any idea what is up?
Am I not licensed?
It will save to PowerDirector
