I had this problem last year on PD12, somebody here posted a fix/patch. I applied the fix and I was able to check the box for fast video rendering on MP4 files. A few weeks ago I was forced to re-install Windows 7 64. I am now trying to render videos for the first time since. Neither PD12 nor PD13 will let me check the fast rendering box (greyed out) trying to create an MP4 using PS13 AVC or HEVC (called MP4 on PD12). If searched this forum trying to find that fix again, but no luck. I have an Nvidia GTX 560 with the latest driver as of today. PD13 has 2604 update.

Does anyone remember how to acquire the patch that fixed this problem on PD12 last year?

Thanks!
That did it! T H A N K S !! :o)
Those are the buttons I was looking for, but they don't appear in on my screen -- even if I pull the sizing bar way down. Here's a screen print. I don't find control over this in the preferences. I am at the current patch level of 2604.
The contol+S (Save) function is definately slower on PD13 than PD12. I'm doing my first projects since upgrading, and PD13 is definately slower/jerkier than with PD12 on the same computer hardware. It's like the execution path is much longer, so a greater percentage of the computer hardware resources are used -- even for the same basic functions as before.
In PD13 is there way way to apply Fix/Enhance settings to all clips? Wasn't it possible to do this in PD12?
Here's why we all have a love/hate relationship with PowerDirector. This problem did not exist on PD12. In PD13 I isolate a clip of about 11 seconds that I want to be in slow motion. I select the clip, and choose Video Speed -- slow motion with video interpolation technology (default .5 speed). PD13 becomes unusable when try to play the clip -- doesn't crash -- more like freezes. However if use video speed adjustment option, and set the slider to .5, all works fine. This added 2 hours instead of 2 minutes to the man hours to create this video. )o:
Please allow the PD user to change the editor color scheme from all black to other options. All back with super-thin fonts is confusing. When you get a pop-up you can't tell the pop-up window from the background window. I belive other products call these "skins". At age 72 the new editor user interface colors are hard to see what's what. Thanks!

Or the ability to hide used.
Here is the fix from CyberLink for this problem...

Dear Roy,

Thank you for writing back.

In regards to your concern first, I suggest you to install the latest drivers update from the link below.

http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/81390

Then, I suggest you to produce and burn.

1) Open the project--> Go to produce tab--> Select (MPEG-4/MPEG-2) --> Start to produce.

2) Go back to edit tab and replace the produced video on the timeline.

3) Go to Create disc.

4) Try both creating a folder and burn to disc, and check if helps.

When burning disc, please ensure:

- Tick both "Burn to disc" and "Create a folder" options when burning. In this way, program will do authoring first then write to the disc to improve the burning successful rate."

- Try alternatively with both enable/disable "Hardware video encoder".

If issue persists, please suggest to uninstall and reinstall the software, then check if helps.

If the issue still persists, please help to confirm the following info:

1) Can you burn with/without menu?
2) Can you create a small project, and check the project can burn?
3) Is the issue occured with a particular project, or with all project?
4) If the issue occurs with a particular project, I would suggest you to create a pack project material and upload the project on our FTP site. To create pack project material, do this;

1. Create a folder in a desktop and name it as "CS001432764".
2. Now, open the project in PowerDirector and Goto File -> Pack Project Material -> save it to a folder ( which you have created in desktop)

Please follow the steps to get in to FTP location.

1 Open Windows Explorer.
2. Copy and paste the below link on the address bar.

ftp://cyberlinkcs:R3TWE640@ftp.gocyberlink.com/vctarun/

3. Enter and you will get a page "FTP directory /vctarun/ at ftp.gocyberlink.com".

4. Click on the "page" which is at the top right corner and select open FTP site in Windows Explorer.

5. Enter the username and password below whenever ask.

Account Name: cyberlinkcs
New Password: R3TWE640

Please copy and paste the folder.

Also, please inform us that you've uploaded the information file at FTP.

Subject: ERROR CODE E00B0002

2015/01/14 16:16

The attached error message pops up when trying to burn a video to either a DVD drive or a folder only. May occur immediately or after rendering part of the video. Can burn to DVD OK with other software. When burning to folder the hard drive has plenty of free space. Occurs on more than one video.

Error Message.....
Burning Unsuccessful
Error Code: eE000B0002
Possible Causes: Cyberlink Powerdirector could not create a directory. It is an internal logic error.

Powerdirector 12 with patch 3403

Have uninstalled PD12 and reinstalled, following by reinstall of patch 3403

Attachments: burnerror1.PNG
I rendered the video to an MP4 file, then rendered that to a VBO file, then burned it to the DVD using IMGBURN. Testing to the DVD drive with several pieces of software reveals there is no problem with the drive or the discs. PD12 seems to have lost it's mind (again).
I reinstalled PD12 + Patch 3403 and it made no difference. Still getting burn error to either a folder or a dvd that says bad directory/logic error.
Error message #1 was corrected by following the directions in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3FDGR9Oeow
The RichVideo service was not starting (it was disabled).

p.s. The other error message is the exact same message whether trying to burn to DVD drive or a folder.

Windows 7/sp1
All of a sudden I'm getting two different error messages when I try to burn a DVD with PD12 at level 3403. The problems may be related.

1. When I start PD12 I get the attached richvideo1.png
"RichVideo is not installed on your system..." Have to press OK to proceed, then get message do you want to allow modify system, choose yes, then nothing installs -- PD12 starts up. Get this every time start PD12. Ran Malwarebytes Pro and no malware found. Also running current Pro AVG anti-virus.

2. When attempt to create a DVD, get the attached burnerror1.png. This one attempting to create to folder-only on drive C. The directories are there. When attempt to burn direct to DVD get the same error message and error code, but text is about DVD, not directory.

Suggestions?
Quote: I would like to see more cuda supported transitions/effects

I second the motion.
Over the years since PD-1, the interface has gotten kind of "dusty". Some activities require too many mouse movements and clicks. The more that can be done without taking your hands off the keyboard, the higher the productivity. This suggestion is that the entire user interface be re-thought considering modern concepts (like context sensitive menus), and make the interface consistent in look, feel, and operations no matter what the user is doing (e.g. the same keys do the same thing everywhere in the program).
In addition to the previous improvements for Magic Motion, allow the following:

In the Magic Motion motion style dialog, put a checkbox next to each magic motion "style", along with a "Select All" button. The user can them select the styles to use for the "Apply To All" button. For example, if the user only wants the Zoom In and Zoom Out styles to be randomly applied to all images, they would just select those two styles.

Thanks!
Here are some more requested productivity improvements...

1. Media Room -- ability to show unused clips

2. Hot Key for "Mute Clip". Right-click of clip allows mute clip, but it has no hot-key (nor menu access). "Customize Keyboard Hotkeys" (Alt+H) provides no ability to assign a hot-key to this action.

3. Audio Mixing Room -- ability to apply volume change to entire clip. Currently to apply volume change to current clip must select clip, press home to position to beginning, change volume via Audio Mixing Room which only changes the beginning volume, press end to position to end of clip, change volume via Audio Mixing Room. The entire clip now has the volume change, but requires too many actions.

4. "Remember" the "Snap to reference lines" settings in each designer pop-up, and save with the project. Currently have to keep turning off "snap" over and over again.

5. Motion Designer -- each time entered, default to maximum selection box (entire image). As previously suggested, also provide ability to maximize selection.

Hopefully Version 14 will include these basic functions not included in the previous 13 releases.

"Custom & downloaded effects - titles, PiPs, particles, menus etc - are always available in any new version (because they're stored separately from the program folders."

Hmmm. I wonder what I've done wrong. Several times in the past when I've upgraded I've lost custom titles, templates, etc. I'll watch for this on the next upgrade.
When upgrading to a new version, please transfer the following customized settings and entities to the new version. In the past 6 upgrades this may or may not happen. Make it consistent.
+ Downloaded or created effects, PiP objects, titles, and transitions
+ Program Preferences
+ Custom video rendering profiles
+ Downloaded or custom disk templates.

In short, anything that can be saved or customized by the user, should be remembered after upgrading to a new release.
More keyboard shortcuts to "nudge" elements and tracks for alignment would be a productivity improvement.
