Hi Everyone,
I too had been experimenting with the swing effect and swing transitions for a while. But as has been stated above, the jagged lines do kind of detract from the effects appearance.
However, just as HalCon has shown in his link above, if one uses an image mask layered on top of the swung video/image, it seems to help the appearance a bit. (short example attached)
Cranston, your talking about jagged lines,I will often see the jagged lines in the PD preview window but they always disappear for me after production and viewed in another program.....

This thread is wondering off the original topic.
I'd like to see Hal's input before I seal the thread.

I'm a newbie with sort of the same issue. I've imported DVD video of my daughter singing...and it looks great in preview. I added reverb in Wave Editor and reintroduced it into the timeframe. Now her mouth and voice are off by about 1/2 second. I tried to resize the audio, but it does not seem to do anything to bring it back into sync.
Could I be missing something else? Thanks!
PD 9 Ultra64, W7 Pro x64-6GB
someone recently stated in the forum here the best way to work with VOB files is to put it in the timeline and convert it to a MPEG-2 file.I wonder if doing this would take care of the sync problem when working with vob files as I have also experienced......

Billy,
Watch the window on the right hand side of this short clip. I think it is the effect you are looking for. Adjusting the timing for when and how fast the clip expands is not really difficult.
Ignore the left side, something I am still working on.

yeah that's pretty much it Hal,but that "modify",lightbulb/arrow thing can drive you to drink !

Have you played around with the keyframes? Add a keyframe earlier in the track and expand the video up to desired size at that keyframe?
I just got done messing around with that and i think the solution could lay there but it's so freaky to work with :

can anyone tell me if I can make a fast expanding or shrinking video box ? All I can get is one that does so at a snails pace.

Did a quick project using several AVCHD videos. I'm afraid that release 2230a was more stable. 2504 has crashed on several times using a project that release 2230a sailed past with ease. Cannot determine a the moment what the cause as the crashes are not consistent. Will follow up ASAP.
ouch,I think I'll stick with the older version for a while.PD9 is working pretty good for me lately, except for when I turn my printer on and PD9 crashes,sometimes...I use a lot of AVCHD files since my other .mov format i had been recording in caused a lot of crashing.

it doesn't seem to be expanding nearly fast enough. What I ultimately want to do is expand one box while decreasing the size of second box in the other corner. I want to have two people explaining what's going on in a slide show, while one is talking the other box diminishes in size and then when the other person is talking his box quickly grows in size while the other one becomes smaller.....

hey thanks guys, this is going to take some time to master !

a little while ago I asked in the forum if it was possible to put a small video box in say one corner of the screen and I was able to do this with help from the forum. Is it possible to make this box expand or get smaller in real time as the video progresses ?

I got it open now, looks like it was a quirky taskbar issue.I would put the mouse over the program on the taskbar then move it up to the the small windows 7 window and you would expect that to expand the program when you click on it but it didn't.At this point I had to left click on that window and select "maximize" and it opened properly.
|
|
I went to open PD9 waveeditor this morning and I got a message in windows 7 that said this program was trying to communicate with an outside source,I selected "allow once" now when I double click on the program it shows up in the taskbar but won't open,I get a message that the application is open by another user.Any ideas what's wrong ? PD9 is unaffected I'm the only one using this computer and have administrator rights.

I upload directly from PD9 to youtube with no problems,I think it's the easiest and most convenient way to do it, maybe not a whole lot more so then what Trevor proposed but it would be interesting to understand why your getting that message.

After a couple of years of trial an error with in camera mics with wind cutting coverings etc my solution is.
A separate good quality voice recorder (I use an OLYMPUS DS30 voice recorder) strapped to my shoulder strap with the detachable stereo mic in my helmet covered in wind cheating foam.
With this set up I can get clear voice recordings up to 50 MPH. You may be able to get better results with a motorcycle helmet as mine has air holes everywhere and much more open than a close fitting motorcycle helmet.
Cheers

Robert,is it hard to get the voices in sync with the video doing it this way ?

The one that I have is a Magnavox Model# ZV427MG9
It was $168 plus tax at Walmart Feb 2010.
I am in Texas, USA.
It's one fault is no DL disks. The quality drops if you try to record more that 2 hours on a single layer DVD. It is capable of up to six hours, but the quality of the video is really poor if you exceed two hours.
this is the one I have also.I didn't find the quality really dropping off until you used either of the lower 2 recording modes,EP and SLP

i did this just last month, bought a vcr/dvd recorder at Wal Mart for $168 I'm pleased how they turned out.Yeah PD 9 can handle .vob files, the file type that a vcr/dvd recorder produces. The only problem is when you trim the clips the sound track can become slightly out of sync with the video

thanks a lot everyone for all your help, that solved my problem

can another Title track be added ? I'm making a slide show and I started off with a "perspective scroll" and in order for it to scroll slowly enough I extended it out. I want to add another title further on down the timeline a little but this first title is in the way.
