This thread is wondering off the original topic.

I'd like to see Hal's input before I seal the thread.

I am working on getting the procedure together. I hope to have it ready soon, but I may not finish it till sometime in the morning. It is just after 1:00AM where I am right now.

It is taking me a lot more time to explain it than it does for me to do it. Before I post it I want to be sure that it can be understood and duplicated by all that want to try it.

I am creating a text file with a step by step procedure, and I will include some screen shots where necessary.

Hi Everyone,

I too had been experimenting with the swing effect and swing transitions for a while. But as has been stated above, the jagged lines do kind of detract from the effects appearance.
However, just as HalCon has shown in his link above, if one uses an image mask layered on top of the swung video/image, it seems to help the appearance a bit. (short example attached)

Cranston, your talking about jagged lines,I will often see the jagged lines in the PD preview window but they always disappear for me after production and viewed in another program.....

Thank you, Dafydd, for pointing out the Swing!

I wrote above;

I have an idea...but it would sure be nice if a tutorial was availible at some point.

I have been aware of the mirror - but not the swing. Thanks again!

Still getting jagged lines, even after produce and playing in another program.
However, I think maybe Hal will give a solution to fade that with a mask (?) and I'm
looking forward to his input.
Cranston's example I think also confirms that there are possible ways to conceal most of
the jagged appearance of the lines.

So Dafydd, you told me to "eat my heart out" - which I think in English is somewhat the same as saying
something like "you ignorant nitwit, you know nothing...."

Instead of eating my heart, I will thank you all for giving me input and information
which I can use further.
Just something.

No it doesn't Nina...

It means "neh neh I can do it and you cant!"

Or if you want me to say something it goes like "hold shift" with a laugh
Of course one could rabbit on and chew the cud over matters with an epiphany at the end if you like

The mirror can be altered using opacity setting and of course applying a second effect in the Effect Track.

Dafydd
PS Eat your heart out = suffer from excessive longing

Hi,
When you make the tutorial please post as a new topic.

We've strayed off topic here so I'm locking the thread.

Thanks

Dafydd
