Thanks. So if I understand you correctly, I need to insert another video timeline above the existing one which has all the clips.

I imported a picture in one of the clips. I also selected a background for this clip. However, the background is on the top of the picture. How can I send the background behind the picture?
Thanks

I inserted chapter markers on the video track. I would like to have a list of chapters at the beginning of the production file, in front of the first clip. I realize that they will not be active, however, can such a list be created automatically instead of typing it as titles or subtitles?
Thanks

The problem I had in the past was that every couple of years the files are reorganized, copied to another drive, etc and the link in pds file is lost. Since, as you pointed out the storage is inexpensive, I thought to have the clips for a respective movie in one place. I will look into that "Pack Project" function.
Thanks

When I create a movie I use files and pictures from different drives, folders, etc. Once the clips are assembled I would like to output them into a single file for editing so I do not have to keep track of the original sources. What is the best format? AVCHD, MP4, MOV or others?
Thanks

My PD12 hangs out every 5-10 min and I have to restart it. My system should be powerful enough to handle a 30 min movie without hanging out. Any idea what should I do?
Thanks.

I imported an MP4 file into PD12 when I got a warning that the file is 15 fps and I need to convert it to 30 fps. How do I do it?
Thanks.

Hi Kevin,
Quality of both the picture and sound was surprisingly good. One thing which did not work were chapters at the beginning of the PAL video. They were converted as a non-active still picture. The rest was fine. I have not tried yet editing of the converted video. I will try to do that in a couple of weeks.
Thanks,
Milan

Thanks. It was pretty easy and worked quite well. I tried it both ways: from the DVD VIDEO_TS folder and copying VIDEO_TS into HD and working from the HD as suggested. Both ways worked, however, from the HD it was incomparably faster.

I have P2G v. 6. Because I have become a silver member Cyberlink is offering me P2G 5.5 LE for free. On the Cyberlink web P2G 8 essential is for free. Is there a way to compare these version? Which one should I go with? Thanks for the advice.

I received a noncommercial DVD burned in PAL which I can watch on a computer but not a TV. How do I convert it into NTSC DVD for watching on TV? Which of the Cyberlink product do I need to use?
Thanks

I have updated to v2023 and subsequently have editing problem which was not there in v1703. After moving scenes to the timeline and trying to play either clips or movie, a green bar appears on the timeline growing in 2 second increments with a box above the timeline on the right side showing a progression of 2 second "rendering" . Consequently the playback of a clip or movie in edit mode jerks in 2 sec intervals. After 2 seconds of a clip is rendered a green bar increases by 2 secs, i.e., after each 2 secs are rendered the bar moves forward by 2 secs. 10 min of a movie takes about 20 min to render.
Once the whole clip is rendered it can be played back uninterrupted. Under these conditions editing is very difficult and very time consuming, e.g., if you switch clips you have to "rerender" them again. In the previous version editing was going very smoothly. Is there any options which was maybe accidentally selected that causes this "rendering" and can be disabled?
Thanks

I am still puzzled by the green and yellow "shadow files". The video was recorded on HD camcorder on two sequential days. Nothing was changed on the camcorder between the days. The video was downloaded to a computer in one session. Yet, the first day video has green rectangles the second day video has yellow rectangle. What has caused the change? Thanks.

I apologize. Apparently I inadvertently clicked on PDVD instead of PD10.
Thanks for the explanation.

Thanks, whatever helps. However, since this question arose why I was building and editing a project in PD10, the main function of the program, I thought that PD10 is the right forum.
