Why so many directories

When I upload a video from a camcorder to computer HD several directories are created. Subsequently creating a project in PD10 in order to download scenes I have to open "Import media files", "Select files","AVCHD", "BDMV", and finally "STREAM" to get to *.MTS files. What are these directories and is there a shortcut to download scenes?

Hi MJH -

That file structure is on your camera. When transferring clips from your camera to your PC, it is necessary to navigate to that "STREAM" folder (whether it's an internal HD/flash drive or an SD card). Those directories aren't created on your PC.

Once you select the clips transfer them to your PC & store them in your selected location.

Cheers - Tony
