Attention Dell XPS 8xxx owners having trouble with PD9
[Post New]
There are more than a few reported issues with this machine from Dell and PD9. Here is a partial list (thanks to Tony- AKA ynotfish):
Here are the references I could find in the PD9 forum:

One XPS user appears to have a recommendation from Cyberlink that worked, but , since this fix may be related to stopping programs running in the background...this may not be the final soulution. Here is what Colleen did:

Thank you Fred and Tony for highlighting the issue.

I've not checked out all the links. The problem may revolve around the AMD/ATI card installed and the driver used.

PowerDirector 9 not working correctly with AMD 5xxx/6xxx Cards and
latest drivers (Catalyst 11.6) editors describe different symptoms:

- All OS affected (XP/Vista/7 - 32&64Bit)
- Burning fail with enabled HW acceleration
- Produce fail (app freeze) with enabled HW acceleration
- The issue can be work around in many cases by disable HW
acceleration

Editors should check to see whether it is the driver first. In one tested case the 11.2-11.6 drivers did have a problem.

ATI 11.1 driver download link:

This issue is still being looked into.

Dafydd;

Possibly the updated ATI Driver 11.7 is a fix for these folks? Seems to be targeted at CL products

Thanks Fred and AlleninChigago. I have referred all threads/post links to CL for their attention.
