My experience with AMD was bad I had Octa core FX-8150 which pushing my CPU temps high, froze and had high power consumption
Moved to I7-3770K Ivy bridge overclocked to 4.6 Ghz. No problems so far :

I use Sony HX-300,super zoom bridge camera. No lens changing hassles. Shoots 50/60p/i at HD (market dependent). excellent video quality at 20 MP.

Does your laptop have add-on graphic card or a reasonably fast on-board card. 3GB is comfortable editing standard definition files.
editing HD or ultra HD clips would stress your laptop fullest and slow down editing process and rendering.

The general rule is if your SLI is on a 8x + 8x mother board there would not be any difference since both the cards work at 8x though 1st card is plugged in a 16x slot. It should matter however, if the both cards run at 16x

Re-linking Audio and video happens if you are in edit mode and press CTRL+Z. Once saved re-link video audio is greyed out which is a bug.

I made another test with 14 clips. I was able to delete. Wonder what happened earlier .
Did not want to update beta patch. Will wait till they release proper version.

I was working on a project where I had de-linked audio. Selected half dozen of the unlinked audio clips in a row and deleted (Shift+Del). The PD crashed.
If I select a single clip or 2 to 3 audio clips it does not crash.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem
