Removed all PD 12 programs and used the Cyberlink Cleaning tool and then re-installed the three downloads: viz:
PD 12 - 2109
PD12 - 2230
PD12 130626 Essentials
I initially tried loading 2230 but msg showed unrecognised purchase so did the three as shown and all OK in the sense that all the transitions where in the library. What really did surprise me was that even the Transitions I had move into MY Favourites were also shown in MY Favourites (how can this be when I removed everything before re-installing) how did the program know?
Anyhow main problem still persists in that when the project is loaded other than a couple of transitions in the Time Line all the others show a yellow icon and indicate no action when moused over.
Have I no other option but to go through the full project and re-insert my transitions.

I had an almost complete over 1 hour project. All working well with a good mix of transitions (most of which I had placed in my favourites). Because of other problems I opted to uninstall and reload PD12.
First I loaded the PD12 2230 and noticed not all the transparencies were in the library. Removed and installed my initial PD12 2109 this showed all the transparencies in the library but on my time line even though the transparencies where inserted and seemed to show the correct icon as I moved the mouse across it said 'no effect'. I then re-installed PD12 2230 and also re-installed the Essentials 130626 but again in the library there were only a few of the transitions.
What the heck has happened?. Is there any way I can get all the transitions in the library and also to get my inserted transitions to work without having to delete and re insert them into the time line?
Also after initially installing2109 and viewing the PD page it showed upgrades but it did not show the update of 2230 which I thought it would have.

OK having read the replies this is the current situation.

Tried burning (rendering) a second time again to a file not directly to a DVD it ran overnight and on checking next morning it gave msg saying PD12 had stopped showing time 11:41:10 with 0:0:01 time remaining and 94% (bugger) of course it may well have crashed some time before the 11 hours.
Did it again for the 3rd.time with contact vigil taking snapshots of Project and several snapshots of rendering process. All details are in attached file.
The last screen capture at 5:34:37 and showed 78%. I check again at 7-30 pm hoping it would have finished OK.
However the same msg as before saying PD12 Stopped Working
Don’t know at what exact time it stopped working or what %age but if like last time probably around 94%.
On each of these two occasions all the VOB files were produced and I can use a video player to view them however there is no link between the clips and no loop around menu. I have to load each one into my viewing program. All the other files required i.e. the IFO file are missing.
I have spent 60 hours on this project over the past few months and this is calamity.
It is intended as a gift for a neighbour as it it about his recent trip to Canada and Alaska

I have a project 70 mins long but before I burn to disc I want to produce a MPG file. I opted for MPG2 and it started and indicated it would take over 8 hours to complete. Is this normal or do I have a problem

Transition cannot be revered played like movie clips

Have checked the Modify of several transitions. Was try to find a Closing door i.e. the reverse of Grand Opening also something simlar to Star but in the opposite direction also a circle similar to Star but again with a zoom in and zoom out options. Any ideas

I select Wave Editor and it loads OK I then can Boost or edit as I wish then on closing it ask for save.
When selected the dialog box often shows not responding but eventually seems to save the audio file but the system does not return to PD12 but goes to a blank web page.
I sometimes can go back to PD12 f by selecting from my taskbar but other times receive the msg that the program is not responding with the option to wait or close.
Any ideas...

Although the list showed some file as in use I still selected ALL files and tried deleting. Msg informed some files where in use and then I noticed all the IN Use file were deselected and only the Not In Use files were left selected. I opted to delete and yet still a msg saying some files are in use so I opted not to delete. I am worried that if I delete I may lose files that I cannot recover. Please advise.
My Graphics card is a AMD Radeon HD 5700.

Don't know what I did but after editing a video sound suddenly noticed a series of green squares just by the time indicator on the timeline. When playing back this portion is just black screen.. what have I done and how do I remove the offending problem
As borgus1 suggested: Try deleting the temporary files, under EDIT|PREFERENCES|GENERAL tab "manually delete."
However when checking about deleting temp files as suggested . The list showed many files as in use. To be safe I did not delete any until clarified.
Is it safe to delete all these files whether 'in use' or not.
Any other ideas what the problem may be

I have upgraded from PD11 to PD12 and I have applied latest update.
There doesn't seem to be as many Transitions . I cannot find any transitions for Swipe/Wipe/Slide Left or Right. I always thought they were in PD11. I may be getting mixed up with Pinnacle Studio which I had before PD11.
Also with PD11 there was an 'Essentials' file to install. Is there an extra Essentials type of installation for PD12.
Finally is there any way you can reverse the direction of some of the Transitions.

I have recently upgraded from PDR11 tp PDR12. With PDR11 there was an additional file called Essentials... Is there no additional extra files with PDR12.
I ask because I always thought there were Transition of Swipe/Wipe Left and Right but don't seem to find them in PDR12 and I was just wondering if they were in PDR11 Essentilas.

Installed update 2209 caused problems and project would not load . Re-installed original PDR12 exe.
Have now applied update 2109 but not sure whether to install update 2209 ( is it clear of problems)
Also have noticed update 2230 is now available.
Also I have in my download folder update 3026.
Can anyone please advise me which updates are safe to install and does it matter in which order they are applied. Cheers
