I'm using iPhone 8 Plus, and my HEVC works fine...
I suggest you to delete the media cache from registry editor then import again to re-generate thumbnails, maybe it will help.

Quote Hello all,

Interesting...the clips you shared can be generated correctly on my platform.
Try AudioDirector
https://www.cyberlink.com/products/audiodirector/features_en_US.html

PowerDirector does not support multi-track recording.
I don't think this is an issue, SVRT can be used in certain formats/profiles only, not everywhere.

The videos I use are usually M2TS files, and the audio files are all MP3. PD17 does not have any issues with these files yet fails to display the waveform. And yes, I have Enable Waveforms ticked in Settings.

M2TS with MP3 audio? May I know where does it come from?
I have some AVCHD camcorders record .MTS with AC3 audio, it generates waveform correctly in PowerDirector.
Quote Does anyone know if H.265 10 bit is on the radar for a future update of PD? I too have a Mavic 2 Pro and the features that PD have to date suit this camera, eg. H.265 files, LUT support, color grading, however it now seems, zero support for 10 bit color?

I've tried some H.265 10bit videos, it can be convert to 8bit for preview and edit, but the color looks "trimmed" to 8bit, no magic.
Try the profiles in Produce > Online > YouTube.
Those profiles are basically followed the YouTube recommendations: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en
It looks like new Nvidia driver's issue since old one works fine.
Quote I am trying to inport CineForm '422 High' 5.2k Gopro fusion 360 footage into powerdirector but it only shows up as an audio file. I also tried ProRes 422 in 5.2k but have the same result. Only H.264 in 4k works with powerdirector. Is 4k the absolute highest 360 resolution I can work with? Too bad if so as the camera supports 5.2k and I've recorded a lot of video in that format already. Just want to confirm my suspision.

Thanks!

Unfortunately the 3 items are not supported in current PowerDirector: 5.2K resolution, CineForm and ProRes codec.

This is a shorter video (4min) showing the issue, I did enable preview during producing on this one which shows the video renduring fine, as well as the preview on the production screen before pressing the produce sign. Videos were taken with a Note 8. Sorry for the repititivness and thanks for your patience. In the end the video came out fine, but version 16 has no issues doing the same thing.

According to your video, I guess the issue belongs to the shadow file(aka proxy file), you may turn it off in Preferences > General to workaround.
Quote i wonder if installed two computer and use only at one.

Yes you can do that, technically.
Quote Does anybody know if PD-17 supports import "AND" export of H.265 10bit color files from the DJI Mavic 2 Pro? It is my understanding that in PD-16 you can import 10bit H.265 files but it will only produce 8 bit.

Unfortunatelly 10bit video is not officially supported in v17 according to the spec, you may import/edit it but the video will be converted to 8bit and export to10bit video is not there.
Quote Thanks Bernd!

I prefer to keep the explorer view displayed.
Quote so I guess the poor old GTX260 embarassed isn't up to the task. Therefore, I can't test Jim's observation about using backdrops with start/end effects.

Another odd thing... in the Title room under Text Only, whenever I select "Backdrop 04" PDR17 stops working. It can't even preview the thing, let alone allow me to drop it in the timeline. Does anyone else get that?

I guess they are related.
Since your VGA cannot handle DX11, it causes the backdrop preview failed.

Time to upgrade a new VGAwink

Question 2) And what do they mean by "high profile?" That may have nothing to do with B-frames.

Short descripsion for the profile of H.264 here, you may like to read full spec or encoder related articles/books.

Quote Hello, i own PD16 but i don't use it anymore despite the incredibly fast rendering engine. I wonder if in PD17 you can finally export in 2K (2560x1440) resolution mp4 ? Thanks !

Just curious, why do you need 2560x1440 output resolution?
As I know, there is no camcorder/camera can record with that at least in consumer level.
Quote Quadro Fx 580 that handles DirectX 11

Unfortunately it doesn't support DX11:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_quadro_fx_580_us.html

so the error is expected.

What would it take to get that added?

Overlap type transition takes one more video decoder, which is an issue if the SoC is not powerful enough, it may also affect PiP video capability at the same time (imagine you add multiple PiP videos)

If you are editing 4K videos, it will be even more limited.
Unfortunately I don't see any benchmark of modern GPU for multimedia, all press are focusing on 3D gaming benchmark.

Anyway, what I can share is my buddy has GTX1060 and the hardware acceleration works fine with PowerDirector 16 too.
RX570 on one of my PC works fine with PowerDirector 16, and the CPU is Intel Core i5 8400.

Actually you may download the free trial to check if the hardware acceleration works with your GPU.
