Hi, I'm using 32 bit Power Director 9, AVCHD H.256 format to produce all my movies from AVCHD files obtained from a Panasonic HCV-201 cam.

Vimeo says it prefers deinterlaced uploads.

How should I know if my produced videos are interlaced or not , and how to de-interlace them inside Cyberlink ?

I know if I produce the file for DVD it is for TV and is interlaced, so I avoid this.

Thanks.
Dafydd:

Really appreciate your suggestions.

I will try out that profile.ini

I am curious if I need to use a special video cam that outputs in 21:9 cinematic to shoot my video for import in Power Director to jazz it up, or just take a standard video and Power Director will resize it automagically for me.
Hmmmm, so it's that simple, just edit profile.ini ?

But wait a minute . . . did you edit a profile.ini for just one image ?

I will be using video, text screens, transitions, all created in Power Producer.

Are you saying you can create one time the profile.ini and then everything you create after that will be correct for 2520 x 1080 (21:9) Aspect ?
I have the AOC Q2963PM 21:9 monitor and I need to produce retail "ads" for storefront display in Power Director that hold true to 21:9.

Any versions of Power Director have the ability to produce 21:9 ?

If so, what was the first version # to do so ?
Right click works well to change the duration of text boxes - - why not transitions too ? They had it in PD 8 and earlier, then they abandon what users are already familar with ? That's intelligent . . . .
So, it has been like 8 months since last post, where is the "fix" in PD for this problem of HD 60fps video still looking jerky on YouTube ?

Or, is PD still going to choke on 60 fps ?
This is a Power Director issue, not hardware or quicktime - - who friggin needs quicktime ? I use VLC Home Cinema for everything incl. flash. Quicktime download and install is full of tag along garbage that pays to Apple to infect your computer

I can drag transitions to the beginning or end of a video clip OK, but no longer can you "insert" them in between video clips.

Also, right click no longer allows me to set the duration of the transition. . . .
I have been using Power Director 9 over a year, could always simply drag the transition I wanted right into the video track area - - now it will not work now matter how I try to do it, what gives ?
The computer is a Sony gaming laptop with 64 bit Windows 7 loaded.

We had the Power Director 8 ultra loaded and it worked fine except there were noticeable "hiccups" in each blur transition between video clips. I believe PD 8 is a 32 bit app.

Thought we would get smoother transitions with the 64 bit app but finding that the latest Power Director 9 is Beta still, see lot's of folks in the forums and on the web complaining about crashing and instability.

Seems PD 9 is not ready for prime time and was released hastily.
DXDIAG image
Yes, I have all the .mts files on my hard drive in separate folders (organized by date). This is where I attempt to import from.

I am not certain how to insert an image of my DXDIAG from my computer in a message on this forum.

Been through all the

1) latest video card driver upgrade for Nvidia GeForce GT 330M
2) Latest Power Director ultra 9 patch
3) Direct X 11 already installed
6 gigs RAM
plenty of HD space
Intel I7 CPU

but unable to import MTS files (or folder containing such files) before power director crashes.

I have worked with prior versions of PD but never seen as buggy and crashing a software as this one.

I wish I could get my money back.
My son and I went scuba diving recently and shot about 170 video clips with a Sony DSC-TX9 in AVCHD H.264 mode (1080).

We are using Cyberlink Power Director Ultra 8.0 3022.

You would think an 8th version should be far enuff down the pipeline to give good results - - I certainly would not invest in an upgarde if this version cannot prove itself out.

I have been using Power Director about 3 years with earlier versions.

We are using a new Sony gaming laptop with a I7 multicore Intel CPU, 6 gigs of RAM and a Nvidia Geforce GT330M video card.

This Sony is probably a bit more horsepower than needed, but should suffice.

I thought that this Power Director software had evolved into sort of Prosumer quality, but I'm still having issues with it.

We loaded about 46 of the video clips in a .pds file, all trimmed, we used the blur transition set at 3 seconds (default 2 seconds was worse) - - we checked other transitions but same problem with stalling.

We experimented with different time settings on the transtions and different transitions but always the same problem kept appearing.

We saved the .pds file and and producing a AVCHD H.264 1080 File for DVD.

1) We noticed upon playback that after each transition there was an annoying "hiccup" or "stall" before the next video clip started to play smoothly in the produced video.

What must we do to resolve this issue ?

2) We also noticed that although we trimmed the clips properly in the timeline when creating the video, the "produced" video played a bit faster and seemed to rush the beginning and end of each clip so that we lost important scenery and action.
Now we have to go back and re-trim them all ?

I guess with Power Director what you see is NOT what you get ?

3) Is it better to load only a smaller number of video clips (like maybe 25) and then produce video #1, load another 25 clips and produce a 2nd video, and so forth then in the final stage load your 6 or 7 videos into a master final and produce the final video ?

Snapshot function has failed -- this file type may not be supported ?

What the #@!$%

I just spent 2 hours creating a video just to take snapshots with the title screens already produced into them.

I done this before successfully - - I have no clue why this nasty little B is acting up now . . .

I'm using Power Director Express that came with my JVC camera
I'm working in the master video track in timeline mode.

I'm at the last video clip, and I've created several title screens that continue on farther past the last video clip - - - - like thank you's, credits, contact info. copyrights, etc.

I want to insert a 2 second video clip of fireworks to play in the background behind one of my title screens, but this title screen is 15 or 20 seconds past the last video clip - - and the software won't allow me to place the video clip with a "empty space" between the last video clip and where it needs to go to play in the background of the title screen.

Do I have to create some sort of "empty" video file with the exact time to take up that large empty space ? Or what ?
Trying to learn if version 5 or 6 will allow production of avi movies using MPEG-4 AVC (H.264)

My NE version crashes when I try to output an AVI using H263 (since 264 not listed).

My NE outputs Indeo 5.1 as an avi just fine.
