I have the AOC Q2963PM 21:9 monitor and I need to produce retail "ads" for storefront display in Power Director that hold true to 21:9.

Any versions of Power Director have the ability to produce 21:9 ?

If so, what was the first version # to do so ?

Hi ssarbot,

Edit an entry in Profile.ini or paste the example given here/below. I was able to produce an mpeg4 using Nature.mpg as my test sample. I wasn't sure of your requirements... just took a stab at a possible solution. I chose 2520 x 1080 (21:9) Aspect Ratio, you may require something different.

Location of Profile.ini is via "hidden folders": C:\Users\YourComputerNameHere\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\12.0

I hope that helps.

Dafydd

Hmmmm, so it's that simple, just edit profile.ini ?

But wait a minute . . . did you edit a profile.ini for just one image ?

I will be using video, text screens, transitions, all created in Power Producer.

Are you saying you can create one time the profile.ini and then everything you create after that will be correct for 2520 x 1080 (21:9) Aspect ?

Hi ssarbot,
most templates can do free-form to any aspect ratio. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Free-Form, to me that means I can input my own frame size and that is not possible to do manually in mp4 using the Quality Profile Setup dialogue box. You can select default template frame sizes from the drop down in Video/Resolution, however, none of those sizes offered 21:9 aspect ratio. The template structures offered are based on 4:3 and 16:9 and not as requested here for 21:9.

A final however: Using Intelligent SVRT you should be able to have a template and perhaps that is the "free-form" that "the King" is referencing. In a re-modeled test using the Produced Nature 21:9 ratio video, SVRT picked up the Customized template.

I should point out that I didn't have any 21:9 aspect ratio video to work on, until I created one.

Dafydd:

Really appreciate your suggestions.

I will try out that profile.ini

I am curious if I need to use a special video cam that outputs in 21:9 cinematic to shoot my video for import in Power Director to jazz it up, or just take a standard video and Power Director will resize it automagically for me.
