You did order an Intel MB to go with that I7, correct?

Imgbirn. Strait up sftw. Tks for recommendation.
Great news! IMGBURN also burns regular SD-DVD and AVCHD onto reg DVD.
FYI: When you buy media again, try the verbatim brand.

To burn your bluray, try a free program called imgburn. I have been using it for years. No coaster and excellent compatibility.
But this could also be that your bluray media and/or player is not compatible. What blank media are you using? What player?

Ok, that seems great, since I have not yet deleted the videos on the camera. I have looked in the different settings in the HD writer AE 3.0 but I have not found anything that let me set this. Can you please check when you are back home?
Regards
Bjorn
The HD writer manual will show you how to do this.

It seems that importing HD clips from my Panasonic is a problem if the clips are 1080/60p and not 'plain' AVCHD. Can I fix this somehow? In PD-9 the 1080/60p clips stall and stutter and play on slow motion. Must I always shoot in AVCHD to use PD-9? And please excuse my lack of expertise!
Your best bet is converting the 1080P flies to 1080i, with the (included) Panasonic Hd writer software. Then using that in PD or any other NLE. You can continue to shoot in 1080P, just convert before editing. The HD writer manual will show you how to do this.

If I use the Panasonic software and produce a video the output is splitted in much the same way as the camera does it.

Your Panasonic HD writer software has an option to "seem" these together, but you must do that when exporting from camera to hard drive. If you have already deleted the footage from your camcorder, this cannot be done. It won't do this for footage already on your hard drive either. It has to be done in the transfer.
1. Plug in your AC power to camcorder.
2. Hook your camcorder up to PC, via usb.
3. Turn on camcorder and put in playback mode.
4. Open HD writer.
5. In the HD writer menu, there is an option to transfer/convert/seem the video from camcorder to harddrive. ( I am not at home and don't rememebr the exact menu name here).
6. This will seem everyhting together, in a folder, on your harddrive.
7. You can now use the seemed files, in HD writer or PD.

Record in the HA setting, but follow test suggestions above. Try producing both a short SD-DVD and a AVCHD DVD. The avchd is HD and will only play on a bluray player. Most people at least know someone with a bluray player, so you can see the quality difference. If not, try it in a store.

Fred,
Thanks for the info.
But , I DON'T have the trial, and dont plan to install it on this system.
I want to start fresh with the full version on a new drive, as I am reading about too many issues with installing PD10 on drives with previous or current trial versions.
I plan to download the trial on another drive, but have not yet.
So I assume that the full version (link in email) will install on a NEW drive, with no previous trial?
Randy

OK. Did not know it would create a problem. Sorry.

This is very confusing. I received this email from Cyberlink after signing up for the forum here. I do NOT have the trial, nor any previous version of PD.
Will I be getting the FULL version with this special, if I purchase via this link in the email? Will it install and work without any previous or current version already on my system?
Randy

Can the trial be updated with the patch?
Randy

I am getting a drive ready for install of trial. But I am trying to learn as much as possible by then.
I have to finish a current Avid project first.

A potential customer, with a question.
So, you can turn the accelerators on or off?
You also have options for gpu vs CPU rendering, and that improves your quality?
Sorry that was 2 questions.

Hi Brad and Randy,
Just to check.
1. Please clarify what build of PD10 your are using?
2. Please state if you are using a Full build or an upgrade to PD10 from PD9 or lower?
3. Please attach a 5 to 10 seconds sample from your camera(s).
Guide information in the link below.
Part A and Part B for Randy.

Dafydd,
I am just visiting and researching. I have not purchased or demo Pd yet, but are VERY interested at this point. I am reading postings and checking out issues, before I decide. I just gave Brad general advice from my years of experience with Pinnacle/Avid and other NLE's. I also work with 1080p, but convert first.
But I will say that Brads results (as posted in his link) would be unacceptable to me, and would prevent me from purchasing PD. So I am monitoring the actions here to see how and when it gets resolved. I am sure it would be resolved, but would not be able to use it, as is for wedding videos.
I really like the attention that you, Carl, other admins and CL are giving to posters issues here. CL seems really dedicated in resolving PD issues and patching quickly. Pinnacle/Avid continues to put out version after version, with major issues, with NO patches or at max 1 (which introduces more issues than it resolves).
I am currently setting up a new hard drive to download the PD10 demo. I can't afford to cause possible incompatibilities with other NLE's on my curent work system. Right now PD10 is my main pick, just waiting for the right time to jump. Please put up with me a little longer, as I ask quesitons, browse, comment, and pass along advice.

Brad,
I am interested in the responce to your issue, as I also have a TM 90. I am thinking about trying the PD10 trial.
Currently I use pinnacle studio, but I convert my 1080p to 1080i, using HD writer that came with Panasonic. Then I import that into the timeline. That looks fine.
My output is both sd-dvd and bluray.

The Romance Pack 3 is neither a patch nor an update, that's why it doesn't show.
So you are saying the the tab "Installed PACKS" is not installed packs??? Hmmm!?
I downloaded it, I clicked on it, I installed it (twice just to be sure) and it does NOT show on the "Installed PACKS" tab...it DOES show on the DVD menu preferences..so KentuckyRandy, you will have it. (see attached image)
EDIT NOTE: I see it both in PD9 and PD10 as an available DVD menu choice!!
Nice! Yes, I would also buy the other Romance packs, and would want them all to show and work. BTW: PD10 is looking real good right now. I think I will try the trial soon. Do you know what version the trial is? Does it contain the patch?

Quote:
It installs, according to my program list, but is unavailable, never shows up in the UI, or listed in the PD updater.
When I re-install, it removes the existing pack, and I go through the same thing again.
I am still thinking about buying PD10. I am a wedding video producer, and would want the pack. That would be a bummer!

Still no Romance Pack 3 on either of my machines. It's not a critical thing, but I know it does not work for other users, also.
No messages on my updater, either, but at least now I'm updated.
Barry,
Are you saying that you did not get the #3 pack upon initial install of PD10, or the patch deleted it?
Randy

Does anyone know the current demo version? Does it contain the patch?
