I would use a USB cable or the the SD/Memory card reader rather than BT.
Both on my Smart Phone (iPhone) and on my PC I have DROPBOX installed. (I know this works for Mac too. It should work for Android too?). Once a day or as frequent as necessary I open the Dropbox app on my phone. It automatically recognizes which photos and videos have not been uploaded yet and uploads those to the Camera uploads folder. All I have to do when the new batch of media files arrives on the PC is put them in my media archive folders, this keeps the Dropbox folders as empty as possible (I use the free version which allows 2Gb max and 3 devices to sync with.) As long as the size of the files are average this works fast and well. For the larger files, or when I am in hurry, I use USB.
Thanks! Indeed it appears to be possible to apply a LUT to all clips in the timeline.

Actually how it works in my version (the latest 365) is:
as soon as I right-click the LUT, the selection of clips in the timeline is forgotten and the apply to all clips is done to ALL clips in the last selected track in the timeline.
To be clear: when I have say 7 clips in timeline 1 and 3 in timeline 2, and I select clip2 in track 1 and clip3 in track 2 (in that order), then as soon as I right-click on the LUT, the selection is forgotten and the apply all will show that all LUTs in track 2 (the last track selected) will get the LUT, track 1 and the formally selected clips in track 1 are forgotten.

If the behavior if the right-click on the LUT is changed so that the selecteion of clips is not forgotten, then the apply to all clips (selected) would be ideal...
If not, then the text in the right-click menu should be changed into: Apply to all clips in the selected track.....

(I have forwarded this suggestion to CL.)
I and I understand many others have problems with the latest version too. I tried to add a blurring effect to a small clip this morning and PD crashed. When I switched off some of the hardware encoding in the preferences it went a bit better. Maybe that is something you can try too.
further, opengehaald freezing ignition have to do with the shadow files that either should have been created to ease the preview, or of which the collection best can be deleted to start with a new empty folder.
since it is the playback only (I guess that the clip plays alright after production??) maybe the preview quality settings should be lowered a bit?
My feeling is that this has not to do with the resolution but with the difference in the frame rate of recording /producing of the image and the final result. The images “jumps” from one size to the other. Making more frames might give a more fluent result. The time the logo is shown is very short, this may also have to do with the flickering: there is not sufficient time to show in between steps that can make it less flickering.
You might give it a try with a different/higher frame rate If you have recorded the image, try to use a picture of the image instead and scale it directly in PD again allowing as many frames while the scaling happens.
My two cents.
(Haarlem neem ik aan? 😊)
It looks like this video was taken from a large (show) screen during a performance, a screen on which a number of clips were displayed.
Simulating this with PD might prove to be a laborious job. If I were challenged to give it a go, I would look at:
- a very careful planning, to make sure that you don’t have to redo too much. Make a drawing of the final product that you can use in the subsequent steps.
- collect all the clips you will have to display in the final product
- use PD Video Collage (in the plugins) to get the clips in frames. Now this collage editor can only do as many as 8 clips at the time (I think). So, you will have to make several separate collages to get to the final product, also depending on the number of clips you have and want to display. Also be careful with the collage definitions, maybe you likely don’t want the clips to phase in but already display the full (eight) at once, but you can also make use of that effect.
- in the example you see that some of the clips were cut into parts, this can be done with the collage editor to, but moving the clips and the clip borders around. Takes some experimenting though.
- The easiest next step I think would be to produce each of those collages. This can be in one go (all collages on the same track next to each other), or separately. I would use a high-quality output format so that you have all options on quality when making the end product. I would add the blurriness at a later stage, I think.
- Then (in a new project) insert all the collage clips and put them next to each other in the screen on their right place (careful planning will help). Or you can use the collage editor again depending on the amount, size and nature of the collages.
- produce this collage of collages again in high quality
- in the next step (with a new project?) you have a clip of the (show) screen that might be used during a performance. (I am very sure that this screen btw is produced with more professional tools)
- with Crop/Zoom and Pan tool you can now pan over the collage of collages to every moment show different parts of the overall. You can add blurriness at this stage and other effects if you want to. And even add in an extra track a performer even with chroma key if you want to.
So not easy, not trivial, but doable, even with PD 365.
Let us know of the outcome, will you?
I did not find a way to copy the LUT from one clip to one or more others in the timeline. The copy / paste Keyframes does not work here either. If it is the LUTs you want to apply, you the have to drag the LUT to each and every clip in the timeline where applicable.
Looking at your question the problem with a mismatch of colors etc. I think is also worth while to have a look at the color match option. After having selected (or set) a clip with the desired color etc. you can make all other clips matching that clip and there is even an apply to all available....
Ok, thanks for the upload. The sound that I hear is very similar to a wrong digital sound format of some kind or a digital sound track that start at (is cut at) the wrong point….
It strikes me that the noise starts right after a cut. What we cannot hear is whether the sound of ALL the parts of the clip (that ends with 4417) is also noisy or not.
I have some questions and suggestions below trying to help you further with this:
- The original clip, without or before PD, as played with another media player, is the original sound okay?
- what is the format of the original, especially the sound?
- did you render for preview or did you produce
- what are the specs you used for rendering/production
- did you try what happens when you insert the original clip into the timeline of a new project, without any editing? If the sound is noisy then too, it may point to a format of the clip that PD has difficulties with?
- assuming that the original is okay, maybe try to convert the original clip (with HandBrake or the like) to the same format as the example you uploaded H.264 AVC and audio format AAC but with (much) higher bit rate then uploaded? And use that to see what happens in a new project without editing of the timeline, and (of that plays okay), with some of the intended editing?
- and if all other fails, it may also be your system, but I assume that your systems works fine and non of the clips give weird noises outside PD? In case of doubt you might upload the DXDiag file so that we can check?
and let us know what you find?
If this not bring you further maybe download a bit of the original file a few seconds from the point the noise starts in your uploaded file.
Sorry, this this is all I can do at this moment. Maybe other have more suggestions or a solution?
Hi,
Because this does not look like normal behavior and it is hard to give a general solution, maybe it is best that you share somewhat more information? What kind of clip, format, any editing applied etc? Does this loudness come during preview or after production, or both? Maybe even better to share (a part of) the clip?
It is indeed a challange because whatever effect you do, it may be applied to all above layers to.
What I have tried (and had reasonable success with) was
- take the clip that should be "chroma keyed"
- use ColorDirector and within that Color Splash, and select the color (green) you want to maintain. The rest of the clip will be black and white
- back in PD you have still the green as the only color that can be chroma keyed.....
mind you, as far as I have tried, this solution is predominantly working with black and white, in the example you gave there were other effects applied. Most effects will also change/have impact on the green color.
I would recommend to play a bit with the application of the effect, it can be either directly to the clip, or to a separate effect track inserted. When applied to a separate clip the ffect has (a different) impact on the laye and the layers above...
Sure there is:
Right click ABOVE the clip in the time line, in the line with the time and frames and in the menu that opens select for ADD TIMELINE Marker to add a marker on a specific time
Or
Right click in the clip and select Clip marker, which sticks to the clip rather than the time as above.

Next to a marker and its color you can texts and notes (I guess that the text will be limited to 255 chars.

If zooming in blurs the image means that the video or photo is out of focus, or that the resolution of the photo is not large enough to display the zoomed-in sharp. There are a number of solutions:
Make sure that the photo is very sharp and with high resolution so that crop cuts are also sharp.
Take two photos/videos, one with an overall view and one with a detailed shot of the zoomed-in image. While zooming in the video, you can make a transition to the detail image that is displayed so sharply.
Or make a new video in which the zooming is done with the lens instead of with the video editor. Make sure that the image is also sharp after zooming in with the camera.
If that doesn't help, show us an example of what you want to do.
Quote That is for Powerdirector 14, most of those things are no longer available to do in PowerDirector 365.

have a look again, both links point to examples that use the standard title and should work for most if not all versions.
Well, please note that in the left border where the tracknumbers are all 'eyes' are crossed off apart from the eye in track 1. Even the subtitle eye has a bar or back-slash, which means that (all) these track are not shown and not produced.
Right click with the mouse on all the tracks you want to be visible and I recon that the subtitle and the stuff in other tracks will become visible.
what (also) strikes me is that you have a lot of gaps between the clips in track 1. If there are no visible clips in the tracks below these gaps, you will see black screens on these places in your production.
The tracks below do not show on the picture, it may be that you have something to show there:
let us know whether un-slashing the eyes has solved your problem....
my two cents:

  • audio track turned off?

  • audio excluded for production?

  • turning the (PC) audio on during media replay?

  • media replayer audio turned off ?

Do you have a bit more information for us? Like: what have you done to the clip in terms of editing, and rather then rendering the preview, does the production of the clip work well. Also, please tell us whether you have hardware decoding on (switching it off might help), and whether you have set to create shadow files or not. Code 2 error looks like pointing to many causes including memory leaks (something CL should resolve), and slight differences in the format of the input file that PD cannot cope with.
It may also help us have a look at your DXDiag.txt file to look at drivers etc.
When browsing for this error online (and in this forum) there are all sorts of suggestions, including the reinstallation of PD.
If all those features give you a bare framing line etc. then it may be that you do something wrong.
It is a bit hard to understand what it is that is wrong, but
Just to be sure have a look at the tutorials that are available, like: https://www.cyberlink.com/learning/powerdirector-video-editing-software?category=1&pf=0&pv=1&ft=0
and also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iq1HsYuGbhg&ab_channel=PowerDirectorUniversity

If that does not help, maybe some back a show us with a screen recording what it is you do, so that we can point in the direct direction?

To WARRY
Production is
2D Standard
H254AVC
MPEG 4 640 x 480 24P
DVD is NTSC

I could send aclip where you can see the bad images and the original as well.

Thank You

Hi,
Before you share example clips, maybe look at this:
From what you write I understand that you first produce H264AVC MPEG 4 640 x 480 24P files before you write a DVD? What kind of DVD software do you use?
My feeling is that the degradation of the video clips might be caused by the steps in between. If you produce to MP4 640x480 from HD original (1920x1080) then there is a lot of degradation already. The next step would be to DVD, which has MPEG2 as standard (720x480). I can imagine that coming from 640x480 to 720x480 is less than coming from 1920x1080 to 720x480. This two steps conversion (from original to MP4 and from mp4 to MPEG2) will not improve the quality.
It depends also a bit on the kind of DVD writing software you use; it has to convert the mp4 files into the DVD standard MPEG2 format. (And maybe on the DVD writer itself as Muzza suggests, but if the DVD itself pays well, then I assume that the DVD is technically correct).
So my suggestion would be:
Try (maybe with a small clip first to save time), to produce a clip with PD using the MPEG2 and select from the options list: DVD HQ 720x480/60i (8 Mbps).
After this clip has been produced look at the quality of the production on your PC. It cannot be as good as the original clip because that was true HD, but it should be better than the 640x480 you used before? Maybe check this with the VLC video media player. (You can both look at the original and the produced file to see the difference).
Should the produced file already be showing problems then we have to look at the PD process. If the newly produced file is already better, then look at the next step, the production of the DVD. If you feel comfortable enough write this test file to DVD and see what happens. My hunch is that the DVD should already produce better results because of the better in-between steps.
In the following stage, you might want to look at why using DVDs. From the above and your experience, it becomes clear that with DVD you can never get to the results of the original camera recordings, which is a shame. Maybe look at using Blu-ray, which can hold true HD format (if it should be a disk medium), or look at using YouTube, Vimeo and the like, to get to optimal results for your audience?
Looking forward to seeing your results.
In the chain between your camera and the DVD there are several moments where things can go wrong.
Note that if you have a HD camera which is likely 1920x1080, the regular DVD file format set to high quality goes as far as 720x480 60 frames. Which is much lower than the HD input?
Maybe good to help us understand the specifics of the steps are you take?
- What is the format of the video (file) you get from the Sony camera?
- What are the project settings you have used in PD 20 (framerate etc.)
- Let us know what the settings are for the preferences for producing and for hardware acceleration, they might matter too.
- What kind of editing did you do, color changes, effects etc.
- What are the settings you use to output the video?
- Is there an intermediate step, if so what format specs are you using?
- If directly to DVD from PD20, what are the parameters you apply
- And last but not least: how do you show the DVD, is that per PC (which software) or on a DVD player?

Sharing the result may give us an idea of your problem but the above may help us pointing into the right direction.
If you can then maybe add a screen recording showing a bit of the original and a bit of the result? Maybe use VLC to show the clips on you PC?
I wonder how you notice that the shadow files are not being used?
Thoughts:
If the timeline editing is (still) slow, does it help to downscale the quality of the preview screen and the display options?
When I test the switching off and on of the shawdow file creation, while editing, I see that PD will duly produce shadow files (when done the the marker in the bottom left corner goes from yellow to green.)
In "normal" editing situations it takes a while before (all) shadow files are available, even when the timeline is being filled up by the users editing. So this would be normal behavior and this would be something developers would take into account?
So, if besides the green marker there is no way telling whether shadow files are being used (if that should matter at all), maybe ask the developers / customer support what really is happening behind the scenes.
Saving the project and then reloading it again (after having switched on the shawdow file option and the markers are green, I think taht PD will rescan the media room and likely also look at the availaility of shadow files. Would that help?
In addition to the is very good overview by vn800rider, while poking around in my system (after a fresh Windows 11 installation, hence the reinstallation of PD 365), I discovered that the mentioned templates could be found in my system in the c:\Program Files folder (not (x86)).
Using the Application Manager I could also download older Content packs, those belonging to the previous versions I obtained. Installing those placed all template files in the \program Files folder.
Next to the express projects mentioned, I discovered 12 in the folder Travel Pack 5, and 12 in the Content Premium Pack 3, ExpressProject folder. Maybe there are more.
Using CAM there appears to be a catch though: Not ALL packs can be obtained via CAM, e.g. when trying to install the holiday pack 7 mentioned, CAM refers to the latest version of the PD program, from where the effect scan be downloaded. This (as far as I can see) does not apply to the express projects.
Of course you can go as far as install the older versions of PD and/or the Suites separately, which in principle will make those express projects available again. You can delete these versions again, but before you do, I suggest that you copy the template folders to a save place, in case they are removed as part of the uninstall too. You can obtain the projects as mentioned by opening the project file (pds).
I cannot understand why CyberLink did not think of a more customer friendly route to the old, in many cases part of the purchased (not 365) templates. They now can only be found using "tricks" as described by vn800rider.
Although CL points out that in some cases the (old) templates can be found (https://www.cyberlink.com/support/faq-content.do?id=27217). I was not able to find them. I suggest that they are made available on an easier to find place, or via the Application Manager or even better in PowerDirector as normally was the case.
What you can do is copy the photo and put it in the track above. Then stretch the photo in the first track (which shows in the background of the original photo) and blur it with an effect.
