Read aonther post about the same problem. May or June packs do not show up anywhere to dlownload... spent an hour trying to navigate the terrible site but cannot find any answers on HOW to download an effect pack???? It says I should be able to do it within the program (I have the latest update, yes) but it doesn't work.

After starting this, I stopped to wonder if I am wasting too much time doing my project this way. I figured the best way to do something is to ask the experts.
I have hundreds of digitized photos from the past 50 years, and will be organizing them in different projects/movie files. I started building a slideshow type of presentation. I want to show this in a gallery on a photo frame type of device or chromebook to run the show. I also plan to use my music from my published songs, so it will prob be output to a speaker system.
I started building it, alternating 8 sec clips on 2 different video tracks with overlapped fades between each photo for the length of each song. Prob not the best way to go about it. I wonder about many different ways to do this, but building maybe 8-10 videos with maybe a hundred photos each, I would like to minimize any extra effort that I don't need to do.
Any other ideas to do a gallery display of these photos with music?
If I do a slideshow type of presentation, how would you recommend to do that?
Edit: no responses, so I guess the question is too vague and I did not notice the presets for slide shows... I loaded the slideshow presets so that may be the best starting point instead of doing a manual drag n drop. Are there any improvements in slideshows between PD15 and the latest PD19?

prob an easy one but i couldn't find it
on the timeline, the opacity dots on the line... you hover over it and it turns red, you click on the line to add one, but I tried CTL and ALT click but it doesn't delete the dots? inquiring minds want to know.
thanks

Use the padlock to the left of the tracks, lock it and they won't change during that speed adjustment. The only change will be the track that has the clip which you are slowing down.
Jeff
but you would think it would give you the option of moving the other clips ornot on the track like if you inserted a new clip? maybe an idea ofr the next version.

when i select a clip in the timeline in the middle of the project and change the video speed of that clip, it not only lengthens the clip as it should, but ALL tracks and clips in the project are slipped out, throwing the timing off.
If I move the clip past the end of the project, I can adjust the video speed and then move it to the location in the project where I want it without affecting all clips.
is this the default action?

I may have figured it out. I enabled shadow files and now it appears to work.
I also changed my audio file from a vbr to cbr.

so I'm doing a music video, 'It's So Nice to be Here With You'. It's a slow country style with that same repeating element/ lyric. It's a suprrise tho, because it is written from the persepctive of a dog as the singer, but it's not until the last quarter of the song where the listener realizes it's a dog from the lyrics.
SOoooo, what in the world do I do for most of the video until I introduce the lyrics/video about the dogs? I didn't think it was fitting to show couples together... I could just show clips of me playing the instruments... but there should be more to hold the viewer's interest until they reach the AHA! it's about dogs! point in the video. Like I said, it's kind of slow, so I don't want people watching 1 min of it and leaving it.

after working on this project using a wav file, I still have issues with previewing the video and syncing with the music, particularly when more than 3 videos overlap. I have 6 lines of video in the project with prob 8 different vids on those lines.
I briefly searched, but is there a reference here that discusses settings or how to minimize memory to allow seamless previewing? Even in Normal Preview mode I still get loss of sync between music and vid. Looks fine in rendering.

i converted it from a rendered wav file from my DAW.
i used best quality VBR mode. Ended up 256k bit rate and 2:41 file was 7.2Mb.

i didn't realize PD didn't work with mp3... that fixed it. thanks

I started a new project and inserted an audio clip that's 2:41. The timeline show it is like 4:10.
When I try to add/edit title lengths, they are not consistent... ie, when syncing the end of the verse to the title clip, it is at :59 but the clip shows longer, so I drag the clip length to :59, and the end of the verse is now at 1:15.
I ran the latest patch last week. I'll check and run it again.

I tried WMM last nite and it and it didn't copy the sound and the quality was not great (after recording a 90 min tape), but I messed around today with WME, since it pops up when I turn on the camcorder...
I had to mess with the device setup to get it to work properly... setting it to the camcorder caused an error, but setting it to line device and manually playing the camcorder works, at least for now.

i read some posts about this, but doesn't solve my problem...
i have a Sony TRV 340 Digital 8 camcorder (digital on analog tape) that I need to archive the tapes from. I recently reinstalled a new Win7-64 OS on SSD w 16Gb ram, running a i5-3570 proc.
i get a couple of seconds into a capture and it stops... no error msg in PD12, and WME says the tape is stopped. I set it up and can run it via FW thru the computer interface, but it just won't capture. The Sony site says the drivers are good except for streaming.
Hints, suggestions, ideas??? thanks

I've been researching for a new graphics card, and as I read more in various forums, it seems that the primary application that you are using is a big factor in the selection of hardware specs... for instance, using Adobe Premier integrates nVidia cuda use in its software, so nVidia is preferred over Radeon. It would be nice to see something from the tech people at Cyberlink to throw out some recommendations on card considerations for optimal performance in different graphics card categories, such as pro, intermediate, etc.
These features could also talk about for instance, using 64 bit vs 32 bit OS and memory, using Haswell over other procs for H.264, how more video memory affects production, is bandwidth a factor in video editing... It's just overwhelming for a typical PD user who wants to optimize their system to research all of these factors... I find articles that seem interesting but are from 2010... 4 years ago, so are these still relevant?
So, as I blabber on, what are some good specs for a card in the $100-200 range and why?

I noticed when i insert a new track into the timeline, it wants to render it. Closed the prog, reopened and it seemed to work fine, but I've only done it on 2 tracks.
I'm also getting the editing tools disappearing on certain clips but haven't tried disconnecting and reconnecting audio yet.
edit: seems that if I split the audio and video the editing tools appear. Also, if I click Power Tools, I get a cmd screen and the prog crashes. I was also editing and applied a 2d effect to a clip, and the prog locked up, so I opened task manager and closed it. Upon trying to open the prog, it would not open at all until rebooting the computer. On the good side, I rendered an MP4 file at medium settings and it came out fine.

I got a new camcorder and am doing a music video (3 mins). I set the recorder to m4 mode, so i guess it's like 1900 x 720. I'm having issues with rendering while trying to edit, and I only have about 8 tracks loaded and prob 4 or 5 more to insert. I've read a bit on my issues, but looking for advice in case I'm missing anything.
System: Win 7-32 w 4Gb, i5-3570 ivy bridge proc w Z77 mobo, HD6790 video card.
I read it doesn't make any diff on the recorded format, so I don't need to convert from MP4 before editing?
When inserted files start rendering during edit, should I close and reopen the prog to flush the memory?
Is trimming more efficient than splitting into sections?
Any other advice for systems with my limitations?

am i missing somehting? - photo shows up in movie after i removed it from the timeline. I had it on a video track, it played on the movie even where there is nothing on the track (after the length showed it as ended)... so i deleted it from the track... it still plays in the movie... so I deleted it from my library, and IT STILL shows up. I started disabling each track, and it is on track 6, but nothing there is visible. Can this be a hidden from the timeline?
