So the multi gpu is only for SLI gpus?
Hi,

I own Asus UX32VD which has integrated intel hd4000 gpu compatible with Intel Quick Sync and discrete nvidia GT 620M GPU which support OpenCL and CUDA

Is there a way to be using both nvidia and intel GPUs ? (GPGPU)

If i don't force powerdirector to use Intel GPU though the nvidia panel, i can't use Intel QuickSync

On Windows, logged to your account go to menu Start > Run and type regedit. Be careful now, since you operate on the Windows registry.
Find the key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cyberlink\CES_FunctionLogger\Data.
All the listed entries should be of value 0x00000000 (0). If any of them is not change it to 0. This will be the production profile which produces the message "Production unsuccessful... blah, blah, blah..."

It works perfectly !! This should be sticky or in the FAQ ! It's too bad Cyberlink couldn't give this solution sooner themselves.........i guess they didn't even know it.......
Ok

But can you explain me why upgrading quicktime would make the mp4 quicksync working in pdirector12 ?

Quote: Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I have done everything unless updating quicktime. I don't really understand the link but i'll do it.

Uncheck any extras.

what do you mean ?
Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I have done everything unless updating quicktime. I don't really understand the link but i'll do it.
For information depending of what edition you do, producing will be faster using your intel integrated gpu (that goes along with the i5) than your 4gb discrete GPU.

In fact for encoding and decoding purposes, intel quicksync blows away any other GPU

Hi,

I bought PowerDirector yesterday night. I had already used it so know how it works. I have also knowledges in gpu decoding.

My problem here seems to be a famous one. When i try to produce in mp4 using intel quick sync i get :

"Production unsuccessful. Please ensure your graphics card driver is up-to-date, and update to the latest version of Windows Media Player or QuickTime software. You can also try to output the production in a different video format."

My hardware is Asus UX32VD i7 3517u, Intel HD 4000 (supports quicksync perfectly), GT 620M, win8

I have tried to reinstall latest intel drivers but it doesn't change anything. It can produce in m2ts but i'm using a software that doesn't support m2ts and whatever i didn't pay 60 euros for a software that say it can encode in mp4 using quicksync for nothing. I think you understand what i mean.

When i use handbrake or sony vegas, it uses quicksync without any problem.

I have also forced the powerdirector to use the intel GPU (otherwise i don't have the quicksync option)

I've seen this error reported here :http://www.cyberlink.com/support/product-faq-content.do?id=14956&prodId=4&prodVerId=1052

so i guess you know exactly how to solve it now ?
Here is the answer from support. So as I was saying before it seems that for real the person I got the answer from seems not to know much. I can understand that some people of the PD support have knowledges only inside the software and its fonctions, but they could at least have escalated my question to someone who knows cause regarding the big amount of technologies inside PD like for example the support of AVX2 there are definitely people with High knowledges here and very aware of the latests features offered by Intel.
Dear Frederic,

Thank you for writing back.

Regarding to your concern, I would like to inform you that this could be of the limitation for trial version. The trial version software has limited features as comparing to the full version.

I would suggest you to please purchase full version of PowerDirector 12 to enjoy full feature editing. You may refer the link below to purchase.

It's insane that PowerDirector would support intel quick sync of Sandy bridge, then would go straight to Haswell support avoiding Ivy Bridge. I don't see why Ivy bridge would have been avoided. So as the software detects my Intel Quick Sync well, i guess the person who answered me just doesn't know much............
I guess you're such an old person not aware of progress.....

Let me introduce you the present : Intel Quick Sync :

http://www.anandtech.com/show/5771/the-intel-ivy-bridge-core-i7-3770k-review/21

Before it was created in fact GPUs weren't advice. Since it was introduced it is the best thing nowadays for video editing and that is why it implemented in EVERY video software nowadays
Dear Frederic,

Thank you for contacting CyberLink Technical Support.

I understand your concern related with the support of Intel Quick Sync in PowerDirector 12 trial version software.

Regarding your concern, I would like to inform you that you need to meet the below given informations to use the Intel Quick Sync technology:

1. CPU: 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 3000/2000 (Intel Sandy Bridge)

http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/processors/index.htm

2. Mother board: Intel® H67(B3) Express Chipset
3. When using Intel Quick Sync video, you can't use external/standalone graphic card (Some of the Motherboards has the function to switch between embeded Intel graphic card or external graphic card)
4. Software supports Intel Quick Sync Video Technology (Like PDR, MediaEspresso)

To check if Intel Quick Sync Video/AMD Stream/NVIDIA CUDA is available in PowerDirector or not, Click on the PowerDirector Logo on the top-right corner to open About page. If there's Intel/AMD/NVIDIA logo on it, then you can use the hardware acceleration in PowerDirector.

* PowerDirector Intel® Quick Sync Video support (SandyBridge hardware support)
- Hardware encode
- Hardware effect acceleration

NOTE : Windows XP itself doesn't support Hardware Decode. (AMD Stream/NVDIA CUDA/Intel Quick Sync)"

Hi,

I just first wanted to precise that my goal wasn't to depreciate PD12. I tested other software before i decide myself and PD12 is the best i saw.

Handbrake can just be used for encoding. No producing feature. I was comparing with it just to point out a possible problem in PD12 so that the devs fix it if so. The goal is that the soft works the best possible. Intel Quick Sync is really a powerful tool that should be used again and again.

I had answer from the support. Intel IVY bridge is not supported. Quick Sync works only with Sandy bridge system
I m concerned by that cause I find powerdirector very slow compared to handbrake to do the same operation. So I was trying to understand Why so then I saw the low gpu usage and was wondering how something which claims to use quicksync would use it this little

Quote: Thanks for this feedback. Could you test handbrake quicksync ?

I also hope I ll have a feedback from the devs as I don t want to buy the software then see the result is the same

No devs here, go to cyberlink support if you want tech support, http://www.cyberlink.com/support/contact-support.jsp before your trial runs out.

I won't post handbrake results on a Cyberlink hosted forum, something about rules and common courtesy. If you use a CL supplied sample file and post details of the file and results I'd be glad to duplicate with the same sample clip in PD12 retail and you can go from there.

Jeff

Very kind of you....i have tried multiple files but it's the same low GPU usage behavior. It's really weird :s

I m on win8
hope i'll have a solution before the trial expires
Actually whith Handbrake GPU load is more around 95 %
