I can confirm: 2 hours video edting and no more Win10 crash !cool
The source of the issue seemed to be the win10 update KB4530684.

so, ... happy... but a shame for MS with their updates, that regularly lead to bug and crashes, depending on the application or devices we can have... less on Mac you say ?? too bad, I'm on PC win10...
May be a solution...

I suppress the latest WIN10 Version 1909, update KB4530684 and.... seems to be far more stable so far.... no more WIN crash for 15 mn....
Will see working more with PD365...
HI

thanks, I'm exchanging with CyberL support. Wait for their 2nd answer...
I remenber there was a WIN10 update, and if I right remember, PD365 crashes appear after... but not sure if it's the source of the issue...
Even with simple project I can have randomly crash with a save "Ctl+S" command...
hi

just had an answer from Cyberlink asking to update the nvidia driver: done... and 2 win10 crashes in the 5 next minutes...
sent them back my dxdiag file...

do we have to wait for another PD18 update ?

just renewed my subs and PD18 is quiet unusable yell...
Sent a request to Support with dxdiag file....
we'll keep you informed of course !

Bruno
BTW, I'm with Win10 64b, Nvidia GTX 960, I7 8750k.
Quote I renewed my 365 subscription in late November and and the program started crashing about the second week.(never had that problem before) I have contacted tech support and followed their instructions, updated graphics driver, deleted and re-installed 365 and now it shuts down in less than a second after I install and launch the program.
Jenny, don't stop ranting! I have a program that will not even open, but my 365 day subscription keeps ticking away!

Dears,

in the same boat here !! yellfrown
Same release of PD18, and same crash issues...suddently... When I save, when I replace a transition... seems to be random...
I still can produce at the right speed the movie production in H264 or H265. But some time, when I'm about to select an output format in the combo box, there is a kind of lag... weird again...

As you I just renewed my 365 subscription in late November, and was very unpleased, by the way, to have to pay more than new subscribers cryyell. Contacted the PD sales support anf they replied me that I'm in the 365 renewal process !! thanks to consider me as stupid faithful customers yell. Do you think I'm irritated ???!

Quote The GTX960 does not used the old cuda technology. You should display a screenshot from your own PD16 Preference screen, not that from Malieks’s pc. Yours should have open cl not cuda available.
You can prove this to yourself by removing that GT960 from your pc and use integrated graphics and see what you get in preferences. Send us a screenshot of that.

thanks a lot guys. My drivers are ok as i used them for h264 encoding. Will keep you informed

Well everything is OK about my drivers. SOunds OK with PD16. of course worsth perf without my GTX...

I have a GTX960 so I should have it.

Got GeForce Experience installed with latest drivers from nvidia?

Thanks I shouldcheck for GeForce exp ... drivers are in thé latest. But will Check.
Hi dear PD friends
just saw the last vid from "PD University" about "preferences" , Hardware Aceleration tab : "Enable Cuda accel ....".
And of course, I dont see that on my PC !! Just OpenGL Accel. that is checked.
I have a GTX960 so I should have it. My config (a bit old and was about yo move to a I7 8700k pack):
- I7 950, Gigabytes X58 UDR3, BIOS FB, GTX 960

Any Ideas ?
thanks a lot.
Bruno
BTW, love the PD16 release (moved from 14).
Any ideas for the release date ?
Hi all

regarding to the users feedbacks and PD features, I decided to stay on PD14.

Please to make this great program the best one for the price:

  • boost up the speed in editing line: should be almost HD real time with an i7 6700k and GPU such as an GTX960 at least

  • improve the editing window quality: in the same way video in windows must be nice looking: no poor graphic quality

  • improve the sounf mixer usage

really love this program and would definitively benefit from basic speed improvements.
sounds good Dafy...
Just installed the last Klite pack to check with my GTX960 but no cuda appears... stil with "Open CL" !

but when producing I can see with GPUZ that my 960 is working (from 1% to 35% max load)
Ok thanks JL for these data.
Well you couls hope for better perf....
but still love to use PD14 above others for the bunch of nice and efficient functions.

with a TL fluidity that would be the best consumer video editor...
hmm very interesting, thanks for these information.
ANd do you find the edition in the timeline more fluid/responsive ?
OK thanks,
so with PD15 no gain on timeline perf or producing a video in MP4/H264 ?
Im in nvidia driver 365.10 and I have "opencl" and not Cuda in the Preference-acceleration menu...
may be have to try with the latest to see ?
Will check with my gtx960 with PD14.
And what about the perf with ur PD15 ??
Wait to get pd15 ... Still not clear on the perf benefits on the timline...
Yeah, clearly when I dragg the cursor on PD14, the time lien should respond really faster.
I had experience in the past with Liquid Edition and Edius Neo and they were much more responsive.

But PD14 is really pleasant in its features, efficient and straight forward to be used, for the my use case, producing video assembly for travel, hiking etc.
But my movies are quiet short, no more than 30 mn.
Well thanks a lot for sharing with us.
Hope it will be fixed quickly to take god time using PD15 !
