Well thanks a lot for sharing with us.
Hope it will be fixed quickly to take god time using PD15 !
Sure I agree,
but before be a PD users I made video assembling for some years with other solutions.

I'm really pleased with PD 14. But when some users who were working with PD14, install and launch PD15 and found some low perf. on the TL, that's not a question of learning curve.

of course the best way is to get my PD15 upgrade and check all these points by myself.
But the least I would expect fpr PD15 is to have better perf on its own engine and with the use of GPU. The least I would expect in 2016 !
hmmm
was about to update to DirectorSuite5...
but will wait for your feedback to understand why these perf are bad... or feedback from CL team.

normally the Time line should provide more fluidity for all ope in PD 15 as they move to True Velocity 6...
just received a mail from CL proposing an interesting update to Director Suite 5 for the full package. In addition we can use the "member10" coupon for 10% rebate when you have subscribed to CL.
an overall great price for 142 E...

but I just saw too on the forum that the PD15 perf on the timeline are not good...
So will wait for more information on that, and if needed, to be fixed by the new release.
Very good information
thanks

Quote: Hello
just to be sure: Upgraded from PD 14 to 15.
Can i uninstall PD 14 after installing PD 15 without loosing anything?

Thank you in advance

This is what the CL support confirmed me today....

just have to test to be sure !laughing
And BTW is the newblue Titler Pro 1.5 is fully functional with PD15 ?
may be a stupid question, but...
Thanks a lot !
in parallel I asked to CL customer support and very very quiclky (in 5 minutes !!) answer me te to instal aboce PD14 and afterwards suppress the PD14.

nice to check with your views Guys...cause I'm more prone to believe the users in a forum !
BTW, moving from PD14 to PD15 what is the right method:
- un-instal PD14 first ?
- install diretly PD15 ?

but what's happened with the my AudioDirector 6 ? re-instal or recognized ?
in you have any experience on that ... Thanks a lot.
hmm ok interesting...seems performance were improved...

I'm more concerned about stability, output quality and preformance than more new features.

Al

Totally agree on that !

I had no stability issue with DP14, but I found that today in 2016, we should have more fluidity on the timeline in full HD with GPU-based algorithms

  • viewing the timeline, scrubbing the cursor

  • audio editing in not that good, slow (I have a i7950 and the GTX960)

  • applying FX (some of the Pixelan G¨¨U-based work very nicely)

  • etc.

Don't find any information on performance with PD15...

The link is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fccm4hLAvs0 . Read the video description and you will find a 10% discount coupon code given in the description. It is good for both a full version and upgrade versions.

Hope this help someone. laughing

yes I saw that and will it to move to pd15 ultimate. You can add that coupon to your update price.
Guys , the answer about the pixelan plugins (great btw).
Hi Bruno,

Yes, all of our plugins work in PowerDirector 15.

Sincerely,

Pixelan Software
Hmmm
May be better perf on editing timeline... To see ...
Hi all

just saw the PD15 is out !
The titler Pro 1.5 would interest me too with Ultimate version.
Do you know more about the real performance in editing ? a new engine truevelocity.. any tests by here ?

Will certaineny move from 14 to PD15 ultimate to get those plugins but would like to be sure that my Pixelan plugins are also well supported. Will mail a question to Pixelan and keep the forum informed...

Hi all

@ Carl: I have currently the same kind of crashes as you, since I had 2 news RAM modules to move from 6Go to 10 Go... Have "intermittent" crashes, into web browser or other applicationss, including some blues screens... never had that before. Will uninstal the modules to test.
Yes i just installed the 2707 patch. Really appreciate these updates.
Hope they are efficient and reactive to solve bugs to provide some improvements in between major releases.
Thanks Barry,

For me, a enhanced usage of GPU/CUDA would be a priority, as it eases the global workflow and timeline fluidity...

we'll see what will be implemented. In any case, will move to V15 (except if it's too buggy !)
hi All

I'm a PD14 users since 6 months now. Very happy with, regarding to other solutions on the market, except on some point like sound management and GPU usage.

I'm not making DVD or BR, just assembling clips with fx, transitions, titles etc.

I fully agree on above wishes.
For me:
- a more efficient usage of GPU / CUDA capabilities: with the available power of GPU we should have a very fluid timeline in HD today...FW and transition and quiet good (in addition I use 3rd part FX from Pixelan)
- a better management of sound: it's very poor comparing to competitors. the sliders for mixing is poor responsive and too simple for an efficient sound adjustment. CL should have a look to premiere elements features.

Hope these requirements will be taken into account.
Bruno
