watching fringe season 1 special features (disc 4 & 5).

steps:

watch a featurette. video is progressive.

when the featurette ends, it returns to the menu.

after choosing another featurette, video is now interlaced.

i'd close pdvd 11 and resume from where i left off, video is again progressive.

thanks for that note, joseph.

i am sure all of us would love an easier method of installing and reinstalling upgrades and i am sure once this problem is resolved, the work that support needed to work on will be lessened and there would be more happier users.
thanks for clearing that up, michael.

looking forward to when MKVs would solidly be supported.

thanks again!
this is a follow-up michael.

after installing the patch, 20114.53, this issue still exists.
hello keefy,

yeah it works that way if you have the upgrade version. you have to go through all the process. it's a long process which cyberlink could address and that is, make it simpler for us upgraders to install via a lesser tedious process.
my DVDs on the hard drive are playing...
Hello Michael,

i am just using an ordinary keyboard. (http://www.logitech.com/en-sg/keyboards/keyboard/devices/6231)

i change the volume using +/- keys. either at the qwerty keyboard or the numbers keypad.

- i don't have special multimedia keys on the keyboard.
- mouse wheel is set to time seek.
- i don't have a remote control
- i don't have PDVD remote app.

here's how to reproduce the issue:

play DVD.

press +/- to change volume.

click configuration button. click ok.

press +/- to change volume. resolution is now 20%.
hello michael,

attached is a screen capture. please take note of the increments of the volume.

hope this could help.

regards!
hello michael,

at last i was able to reproduce this issue.

have already upgraded to 2024.

play dvd. open settings > audio. speaker environment is set to 6 speakers. (set to 6 if it is not set and click on OK.)

open and play mkv file found at http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/18814.page (this mkv file does not have audio stream)

play dvd again. open settings > audio. speaker environment is now set to 2 speakers. sometimes this is set to headphones.
by the way, it does not say english anymore. it only says, "invariant subtitle"
the same file that i sent you in

http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/18005.page

does not show the subtitles anymore.

with the previous version, it was showing even when the lines are not properly displayed. now, it is not showing anymore.

all my other mkv files with subtitles which used to work with the previous version does not show the subtitles anymore.
after updating to 2024, volume resolution inconsistency still exists:

for BD: 10%
for DVD: 20%
for videos (mkv): 10%

i thought 2% would have been a better resolution.
updated to 2024 (11.0.2024.53; SR# DVD110811-05; TR# TR110902-013).

no more subtitles for MKV files.
after installation, on the first opening of PDVD, you will be asked to enter your license keys.

hope this helps.
hello michael,

onboard audio is disabled in bios.
audigy is the only sound devise used.

attached is dxdiag logfile.

hello again, michael.

i have powerdvd 11 version 11.0.1719.51. i have had this version since i purchased powerdvd 11.

regards!
have you guys experienced that all of a sudden, powerdvd 11's speaker environment setting becomes 2 speakers even when you have always set it at 6 speakers?

it's been a few times that i'd notice that pdvd11's speaker settings would be 2 speakers even i would always set it to 6 speakers.
i too would like a workaround for installation of upgrades.

my "older" version was a creative suite and i only upgraded and use powerdvd.

re-installation would mean installing the creative suites with all the software included in it and then uninstalling everything again save for powerdvd after installing the upgrade.

i am so sure there is a way for an easier installation of powerdvd sans the long and unfriendly method.

i think you guys would agree.
i think an option to show the camera button on the main panel would be nice...just like the old times.
starship trooper,

there is a checkbox in that small window that says do not display this message again or something like that.

check that before clicking on ok.

i hope that helps.
