have you guys experienced that all of a sudden, powerdvd 11's speaker environment setting becomes 2 speakers even when you have always set it at 6 speakers?

it's been a few times that i'd notice that pdvd11's speaker settings would be 2 speakers even i would always set it to 6 speakers.

Hi,

I can not reproduce your issue here - the audio settings are stored on my end and do not change.

can you please provide more information about your environment and the detail steps of your settings.

Hi,
did you disable the onboard audio?
did you use the Audigy as only Sound device?

Please add the DXDIAG (32Bit) logfile

hello michael,

i just would start PDVD and i'd find it that the speaker environment is already set to 2-speakers.

i always set windows and everything (including PDVD) to 5.1 (or 6) speakers because that is what i have.

anyways, i will try to post here should this happen again and will try help you guys solve this problem if it continues to exist.

hello michael,

at last i was able to reproduce this issue.

have already upgraded to 2024.

play dvd. open settings > audio. speaker environment is set to 6 speakers. (set to 6 if it is not set and click on OK.)

open and play mkv file found at http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/18814.page (this mkv file does not have audio stream)

play dvd again. open settings > audio. speaker environment is now set to 2 speakers. sometimes this is set to headphones.
