I think you want to "explore" the disc contents from explorer.
Copy and paste the contents from the disc, to your hard drive.
Now bring the .vob file(s) into PD.
I've not yet done this, but I think that's how it works.

Defrag is big. Try Defraggler, you get it free from Piriform. There is a link on SMW, join free and get more free goodies!

Do you have the latest PD6?
Try playing the captured video in another program.
Does it play properly?
What is your capture format? AVI or Mpeg.
Your computer needs more horsies. AVI will give you problems, everything you do should be reduced to Mpeg2.
Up the ram.

PD does not do auto-updates. The program MAY inform you of a new build automatically, with a pop-up. It's best to go to Cyberlink updates and check them from time to time.

I always converted to Mpeg2 HQ. Now however I tend to convert/produce to Mpeg2 720. Even though it is not Hi-def video, I seem to get better looking results on my plasma tv. It's bigger files, but storage is cheap now.

45 minutes is not that bad for a big project. If you "burn" to a folder only, it should go faster, then use that folder to burn a DVD using a burning program such as Power2Go. It will tear thru a DVD folder.
You can also render your file as an MPEG2, then create the DVD.
The short answer is...burning a DVD from the editing file is probably the slowest way, but it works, usually.

Different remote controls behave differently, and I think this is one of those seemingly simple issues that is a lot more involved than it may appear. There may be another button on the remote that will do the trick, such as "return", "exit", etc.

|
Each clip can be "fixed" individually with different settings.
However, if you use "apply to all", I am unsure if it "reads" each clip and treats them differently according to need.
|
|
If you still have trouble, try a different menu, or try a new location or name for the folder you created to burn to.

I'm using 2227c with a low-end C2D. Very few crashes, nice responsiveness, but I still resist overdoing the filters.

The shake and the stutter are 2 different animals.
The shake is a result of the videography, and the Magic Fix reduces that quite a bit.
The stutter may possibly, that's possibly, be due to the overuse of various filters such as Magic Motion, Magic Fix/anti-shake, and the burdening of your system. If you can, only use these filters where you must, don't simply hit "apply to all" if not every clip needs it.
If you have one long clip, split up the parts that are shakey, and apply the filters only to those portions. That is my 2 cents.
|
|
It SHOULD be called "re-combine clips" because as you suspect, it can only work on previously "split" clips.
|
|
Hmmm, I'm not sure what your point is, could you be clearer? Maybe you've got too many of those CUP thingys.
|
|
Anti-shake seems to ask alot of a computer. I must apply it sparingly using my core2duo 1.6.
Maybe you need more power, or use only the filters you must.

A video or image in the main timeline cannot be dragged into pip.
However, anything in a pip line can be dragged into another pip line.
There are no transitions in the pips, other than fade in/out.
I have no problems with clarity in pip.
Try rendering your images in the main timeline, using the transitions you desire. Then bring that new video into a new project, placing it in the pip timeline, apply the frame you desire, with the background image in the main timeline.
I do it all the time.

Works with pics, and vids. Lets me take 4:3 footage and use it in a 16:9 backdrop.

The vid was probably named something like...XXXxxx.flv.avi.
What program did you use?

Adrian, I've seen some of your posts, perhaps you should take one of my rating stars!

If you wait a bit, at least an hour, your video may suddenly have the HD option listed.
I've uploaded 2 Mpeg2-SD and 1 Mpeg2-SD rendered to 720, and all 3 wound up with the HD option.

I have cured a few sticky burns by doing 1 of 2 things...
1. Try a new menu
2. Change the location I am burning to.
Sometimes it can be as simple as that, and I do everything on a laptop, too.
