Hi, RonFromFields!
Another trick could be to resave the audio as MP3 but under an amended title. The new MP3 file will be the same content but will effectively be a different file altogether as far as the computer "sees" it. The new, amended-title file should then import to PD14 without too may problems. It'd be like Carl312 wearing a "Ronald Reagan" mask(sorry, Carl!), same item - but "disguised" as something else.
Cheers!

Hi, Tony(Ynotfish)!
Just noticed in the image you provided for your last post, there are transition effects on the PiP layover tracks. I assume this has only come about since PD12 or 13, It was never available in PD7 or 8. I welcome such a development as I could really find a good use for it in some of the videos I edit. As for the Cross fade transition, the one called "cross" has the effect of a zoom-in from one scene, zoom-out to the next, combined with a blurring effect. Good for location changes(i.e.: scene of holiday shot, followed by a scene from "back home").
Cheers!

Hello, Jofelnootje
This might be "the long way around" your problem, but first, add the effect you want, then render the clip at normal speed. Then bring the rendered clip with the effect to the timeline(after removing the earlier version), and apply the speed effect, then render that to get your final result. Hope that works and you can avoid another PD "dummy-spit"!
Cheers!

This is a second attempt at posting due to sluggish internet
Hello, highmarcs1!
I had a trial version of a programme similar to what you describe but had to uninstall when the trial period ran out. I forget the name of it or who built it. It was on an older Windows EXP computer, prior to this one. On this computer I have another twin-screen editing software from VLC, called VLMC, it's free software so it's worth what you pay for it! It had(at last check) several bugs in its design and I'm seriously mulling over whether or not to "ditch" it when I get my PD14 Ultra pack(ordered and paid for).
Cheers!

Hi, Optodata!
Judging by comments made elsewhere on other subjects, it could be a Windows 10 issue. Did you, by chance have PD14 or PD13 installed on a Windows 7 or Windows 8 computer? Did you experience these problems with W7 or W8? A lot of people seemed to be experiencing software or hardware issues with Windows 10 of late, that's why I'm playing it safe and staying with Windows 7.
Cheers!

Hi, Munchmed1!
A belated welcome to Cyberlink Director Zone, by the way! Your computer might need servicing. Is it a laptop or desktop(Tower CPU)? Take it to your computer technician, he/she may be able to help.
Cheers!

Hi Zabo!
In relation to "changing duration", transitions, when added, do tend to shorten the overall length of a clip by an amount depending on how long you set the duration of the transition, multiplied by how many transitions have been used(of same length, generally). But if you want a more spectacular cross effect, try Threshold 1 or 2, and if thyere are any more versions of Threshold in PD13 or 14, try them out as well. You'll be amazed at the effect it creates!
Cheers!

Hello, StevenFrench73!
Something just occured to me as I read your post. Check to see if the clip was highlighted in the "media Library", you may be watching the preview rather than what's on the timeline. Also, check to see if the "scrubber" is progressing along the timeline as your clip plays. If it isn't, then you are definitely seeing in the preview screen, the clip in the library, rather than the clip in the timeline. At the bottom-left of the preview screen(should still be in the same spot in PD13 or PD14) is the selector for Clip or Movie. "Clip" will play from media library or highlighted portion of clip on the timeline, while "Movie" will play the entire video on the timeline, complete with edits and added transition effects.
Cheers!

Hi, Mark!
Those sample clips(JPG images and MPG clip) don't worry me at all! They may even come in useful at times for decorative purposes.

Hi, Mark!
Something I'm going to need to watch out for with PD14, re:titles! I note(from your first image) your video clips are NOT on the master video timeline, but on one of the PiP tracks. That might, but only might have something to do with your situation, though I can't be absolutely certain. I'll leave it to others who may have a better idea than me about this.
Just further, in PD7 and PD8, the title editing simply provided text which was superimposed onto the clip, you'd set font, size, colour and any animation effect and it became part of the clip in the final render. There was an option to save for future use but it didn't "demand" you save it. Like I said, this is something I'm goint to have to watch for in the new PD14, as I generally only use the titles for captioning and, perhaps "closing credits". My video "Titles" are created by using my own lettering(each individual letter is placed on a separate PiP track and then later animated).
Cheers!

Hi Mark!
I've briefly used Windows Movie Maker but it has several shortcomings, for a start, there's no "capture" facility(on the version for Windows 7, there was such provision for XP, gone backwards!) and in the editing procedure, sometimes I'd lose colour(while editing from digital material imported onto my computer). WMM was definitely a disappointment for me. Power Director, on the other hand, was "pure magic"! What I was able to create with PD7 then PD8, I had a ball editing video. Now I'm looking forward to PD14 Ultra, and after viewing a couple of YouTube tutorial vids, I've got ideas to try and can't wait to get my hands on the new software package.
In the meantime, I hope the suggestions I made earlier are or were of some use to you.
Cheers!

I'm with you on that Neil. I'm firmly in the camp of "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Once I've got a stable system I'm extremely circumspect about making any changes to it. I was particularly amused by one comment in the thread I linked to regarding 'Pioneers' being the ones out in front - with the arrows in their chests
Hi, mike!
"Arrows in their chests"? That's just gotta hurt.....Ouch!
Had a look at a YT Video about a tracking effect available on PD14. I said in a new post that I can't wait to get hold of it! I've got ideas to use it swimming around in my head and I ain't even laid hands on PD14 yet! Let me at it! I can't wait, but I might have to wait another week.... those days are a-gonna d-r-a-g by!
Cheers!

P.S. It was "Motion Tracker" I was looking at via that YouTube clip. Wow! Geez what I could do with that!

A lot of the problem has to do with the microphone(s) in the video camera(assuming it's a stereo model). In my experience the microphones seem to pick up what's BEHIND the camera more readily than they do what's in front of it! Some early Video-8 tape-based mono analogue cameras had a provision for an external microphone to be plugged in. A microphone with a good, long lead back to the camera would avoid much of the problems you're trying to remove. Why havent these newer generation of digital cameras got this feature? It would be of greater use than the manufacturers realise!
Other than this I can only suggest you go with the other ideas already expresses here. I cannot see the original post for some reason as when I look, I get a big, blue text saying "This page can't be displayed!

The problem experienced by munchmed1 appears to stem from bumping his computer up to Windows 10. I've had the icon sitting on my toolbar(near the clock) to install W10 for the last few months but, with all the talk going around, it appears Windows 10's a bit of a "lemon"! I'll be playing it ultra-safe and sticking with my Windows 7 Home Premium until such time as this computer "carks it". By then a better Windows platform will be available that won't have W10's foibles!
Cheers!

Hello Mark1978!
You can create a title page outside Power Director by using the Microsoft "Paint" programme. There's a "Text" icon in Paint that allows you to type in short sentences but the number of characters might be restrictive.
If you have Microsoft Publisher, open up a blank page, draw out a box of, say 32cm wide by 18cm high(don't worry of the "box" extends outside the "page" limit), Click on the line icon and select No Line(this eliminates a potentially unwanted border), then right-click on the box to "add text", type in what you want(you're only restricted by the dimensions of your box), set your text font and size, add a text colour if you wish, copy the resultant box(Ctrl+C) open Paint and Paste(Ctrl+V) and save the resultant panel in BMP, JPG, PNG or whichever image format will give best results. Make up as many "panels" as required using the Publisher panel, just type in the new text and copy to Paint. When you import to Power Director, lay your title frame on a PiP track, click on Modify, here you can set chroma-key and animation effects. With Chroma-key, tick the box and an extra window will appear, move the Pippet to the colur you want to "disappear", usually the white area around the text, and you've added your own title page, hey presto!
You might want to save that publisher page as a template for future use.
Cheers!

Hi!
Windows Media Centre kicks in when I load a DVD into my computer disc drive. I rarely use it for viewing anything stored on my hard-drives, I generally play them through Windows Media Player. I have VLC but hardly use it unless there's a video in a format that Windows Media Player doesn't support.
Cheers!
