How to disable images/video files in upper left Edit window at startup

New PD user here. How do I disable the 10 images and video files (like balloon.jpg, extreme sports 01.jpg, Kite Surving.wmv) that always show up in the upper left Edit window every time I start up PD14?

Hint for CyberLink designers/programmers: this is really irritating and gets in the way of MY work when I have to constantly delete YOUR images/movies. Thank you for getting rid of this annoying uselessness!

Sorry you got irritated with this. Those videos and pictures can be 'turned off' so they do not load upon entering PD.

I don't know how to drop an mage into this response so please look at the attached image. In the 'gear' - CLICK on the gear (set user preferences - if I hover over the gear this comes up), - click on "Project" and then uncheck 'Automatically load sample clips....etc..'

Hi, Mark!

Those sample clips(JPG images and MPG clip) don't worry me at all! They may even come in useful at times for decorative purposes.

Cheers!

Neil.

CS2014, Thanks for the information! I too was tired of the sample clips being there every time. Though, if you open a project in progress and click "no" when asked if you want it to merge with the existing library it'll remove the sample files when adding your own. But I was still trying to figure out how to make them stop appearing there in the first place so that they don't have to be deleted every time I start a new project.

Thanks again.

Is this still a problem for you?

In Preferences, go to "Project" and uncheck "Automatically load sample " as shown in this image:
