Mike,
Found it in the Autosaved file in 'C' drive, PowerDirector/10/autosave.
There were 4 of them so I went through each one and merged it with what was left before so now just have to add the Chapters and then follow your earlier instructions.
Thanks so much. Saved me a lot of repeat work.

Mike,
Thanks for your help.
Yes I had already immediately tried the Undo function but it was not available for some reason.
I then tried to find the "Paste" function by right clicking on the screen but could not get that either.
I follow what you say after that but still need to get the missing half of the timeline back if I can.
Thanks again,

Hi again. I have just downloaded another video from YouTube and split it up into about 30 Chapters.
I then went to the nearest chapter to the centre and highlighted the remaining half and cut it thinking I could paste it onto a new Project. Aha! Not so! And why not so? It all seemed logical and easy enough to me.
Now all I have are the first 16 chapters or so on the original timeline.
Can anyone please help fairly quickly as I still have the remaining half on the clipboard (I hope) and would like to save/paste it into Part 2 of the Project.
Thanks,
Phil.

The Halloween discount has increased so that PD13 is now AU$94.99 plus AU$9.57 for the extended download service.
|
|
I have PDR10 and see that there is no discount for upgrading to PDR13, which then would cost me in the region of AU$150, rather a lot of money for a pensioner.
Is it possible to upgrade to PDR12 from PDR10 and if so what would the cost be?
After all, surely I already have the bulk of the software with PDR10?
Thanks,
Phil

and there I was thinking it was me again! Ha!
But yes, I am very happy with the way it worked so easily.
I am sending the video abroad as well as local here in Perth.
I had a look at the link - is that your design too?
I didn't particularly want motion thumbnails though.
When I checked I actually found that I have PD10 and not PD11 and then found that they do not give upgrade discount from 10 to 13.
This means the full purchase price for PD13 (plus all the extras) is AUD$150. A bit steep for me.
Thanks,
Phil.

Update - everything went perfectly and the disc was burned satifactorily with 11 songs on each of 2 pages.
Your 11 item menu appeared at the bottom of the Menu Preferences list and as soon as I clicked on it it automatically listed 11 songs on two pages. I was very impressed!
There was only one minor thing left out - the thumbnails for the songs did not appear on the 2 menu list pages so maybe I missed doing something there. The thumbnails do appear on the Menu Structure preview though.
Thank you very much Tony!

Tony,
Thanks so much! I have downloaded it and will now attempt to use it! Ha!
More later.

Thanks guys.
Yes, I managed to forget to say I am using PD11 and have not updated my "Specs" which does say PD10 still.
I also just downloaded the PD11 Manual which doesn't actually say on it "PD11" anywhere that I could find.
But it, much like the YT tutorials, goes into much more detail than I actually need so becomes completely confusing. In the end you don't know where you are. In the manual there are 17 pages of instructions. It is virtually impossible to work out from that what I need to do.
Yes Fenman, I agree that it is a nightmare!
tomasc, I will try to find that Earth 10-2 menu by ynotfish but can you tell me how many songs can I fit onto a normal menu from PD?

I haven't used PowerDirector for several months.
I just downloaded a 22-song music video from YouTube and split the video into the relevant 22 sections/chapters, naming each one with the relevant song title.
Then I went to "Create Disc" and changed the title to the title of the video, hoping to get maybe all 22 songs on one page.
With the help of YT tutorials (2) I then looked at the menu structure and saw my title page at the very top and underneath it 11 more "My Videos" pages, each with a menu of 2 songs. Yes, 11 "My Videos" x 2 songs each = 22 songs.
Yes, I was so happy I could nearly fly!
I have no idea whatsoever how to get out of this complete mess and no tutorials have been of any use whatsoever.
All I want to be able to do is choose any particular song from the first page if possible but don't mind much if it has to stretch to another page or two. It is very simple really but PD seems to think I want a much more complicated set up sort of coded so that only the elite insiders who are privvy to the code can understand how to untangle it and play the song they want to hear and see.
Can anybody please help?
Thanks.

Phil, What audio card do you have and are the drivers up to date?
Steve,
Realtek High Definition Audio.
Some time ago I was alerted that something was available to be updated on the audio thing and when I went ahead and did that it stuffed everything up big time so I reversed the process.
I have no idea whatsoever if the drivers are up to date. Judging by my past experience they probably aren't.

Carl,
I converted it because when I tried to import it to the Library of PD10 it brought up a window that said "! An error occurred while opening this media file in the media library. It may be because the file is broken, an unsupported format, protected video content, or for another reason. Try contacting your video provider for a different format." Then it gives the location trail for that audio (not video) track on my computer.
So I converted it to another format.
But maybe it is protected. However, when I have tried to rip protected tracks from CD's before it won't let you!
What I can't understand is that these MP3 and WMA files all play on at least three different players and show a content in the megabytes range.
Looks more like it can be listened to but has a code in it stopping it from being used to make a video.

Carl,
Sorry - no, the WAV file will not play in the Windows Media Player.
I also have an MP3 made by iMesh which plays in Media Player but not in PD10
It shows several MB in the file so there is definitely something there. Well, after all it plays in Media Player (plus two other players!) so it stands to reason there is music there.
Cheers,
Phil.

Carl,
Hi. I'm sure it was this free online system - http://www.freemake.com/how_to/how_to_convert_wma_to_mp3
Thanks,

Godfather,
Sadly that website that sells your "ion Video 2 pc" product says it is no longer available together with several other items.

Ok, so I made an MP3 of a certain track on a CD. It plays ok on Windows Media Player AND Quick Time Player AND Nero Showtime but when I add it to an audio track on PD10 it shows just a straight line and when the timeline is played there is no music.
I also tried converting it to a WAV file with the exact same result - no audio in PD10.
I then tried to download the same track from free download sites but this sent my virus software into overdrive!
Does anyone have any insight into this problem please?

Thanks guys for that. Using your advice I have already found some good pics for my project.

Hello again,
I realise this is strictly not a Cyberlink problem but I have run out of ideas!
I have a Christmas song of my own loaded on the Timeline in PD10 and went looking for suitable still images on the net to place along the timeline to help tell the story.
Wow!!! What a surprise I got!!! Everything I came across was all about the 160 x 120 pixel size ending up about 2.5KB size for the pic. When you put it on the timeline it is pathetically blurred/pixelated and a complete waste of time.
I did try an image converter but that didn't seem to work either.
I must also say that I've used plenty of my own pics for this same sort of application on other projects with no problems but they are all about 88KB or larger.
Any ideas where I can go to get free quality images please? And what size should I be going for?
Thanks in advance.

Guys, I have the same problem and did a search and first came up with this thread.
I have just upgraded to PD10 from PD8. I have a Sanyo Xacti VPC-FH1.
It is always set to PAL.
When dragging the clips to the timeline in BOTH PD8 and PD10 I get the same warning that my settings are to NTSC. I just this minute did three test clips with settings of both PAL and NTSC in 60FPS and 60 fields /s and got the same msg for all three.
I am not sure what to read into your answers above so not sure if they apply to my situation as well or not.
One other problem that was encountered in PD8 has been overcome in PD10 and that is the freezing of the preview window between clips in either Full HR or Full HD (60FPS or 60 Fields/s). Bit of a relief!
Thanks,
Phil.

Well I tried logging off the computer and switching back on and logging back on and all was well. But this time I made an M-Peg 2 file and burnt two DVD's off that successfully.
All is now well in this house!

Help help help please!
It is some time since I made my last DVD but this one of my HOLIDAY in June has stopped in the middle (2mins and 49 secs of about 11 mins) of creating the .264 file that I was next going to use to burn the DVD.
When it stopped it said something like "unable to import file" or something similar. So I went to "My Videos" and played back the file it HAD created thus far. It was shown as a DVD gold disc with a blue arrow on it I think. I played it in Windows Videomaker. Some of the audio was missing and some of the video was missing. Yes, a bucket of you know what. So I deleted it from the file.
The "Produce" page was still open on the screen but not responding to any clicks on the mouse. I couldn't even close it!!! So I turned off the computer and then back on again. Then I went to the "Power Director" icon on the desktop and when I clicked on that it would not open either but a window came up saying "Concurrent User Sessions are not supported"!!! Oh really???
Can some kind person please help me fix this mess?
Thanks so much.
Phil.
