my cpu thingy is this :
intel(R) core(TM)2 duo CPU e8400 @ 3.00ghz 3.00 GHz
i am running Windows 8.1
Turns out i already had trutheater enhancements set on. tried it with it off now too. Its still the same.
you mentioned using powerdvd 12? personally that's the worst version i have used. maybe try a different version? meanwhile i'll read the entire thread. maybe i can find a solution
edit: your screen has a refresh rate of 59hz. can you change it to 60hz? my old ati didn't use optimal refresh rate either.

Switched to software decoding but it does not help
i don't really know your specs. could you please tell me what youre running?
cpu/gpu/os/etc

does it look like metro? i have win8 & others. i wouldn't describe it as metro personally.
that's wierd. actually sounds like a more serious issue. raid is handled not even by windows. windows uses it as a simple drive and the software should be in relation to what windows says. i.e. seems your raid is possibly faulty. i have raid 0 and it works
blu-rays have user operations prohibition or something. basically can't do various features like that. the dumb thing is that you can't press stop sometimes.
powerdvd trutheater enhancements section under video or somewhere. sorry for being almost completely vague
what the slider is for is say you have a 2d content, you can make it 3d. what this will do is make the centre of the image stick out. the sides will be back. by no means is it as good as proper designed content. i wouldn't even to 2d-->3d.
only for 2d to 3d.
3d content is specially optimized. so no effect :
edit: if you want untouched audio video, use software decoder WITHOUT trutheater. hardware should be fine because in this case it is cuda/ APP. sound, use full range no enhancements [i'm assuming stereo output]
you can make a suggestion to support. don't even need to register for that :
can you elaborate? is it the ability to enter the code on a blu-ray disc player?
glad you like it. personally i have had 5.1 / 7.1 switching issues i reported to tech support when seeking as early as v11, but nothing major
theres a software update to 11. try that?
try vlc.
use the software decoder option in the settings. you have a strong cpu which can handle the strain. if it fails, i guess it is powerdvd

hello,
does anyone know if powerdvd ONLY detects disc based cinavia? i was reading up on cinavia and found it cool. so for the fun of it i copied my cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2 bluray which is supposed to have cinavia and made it into a file. given the nature of cinavia, it SHOULD stop playback under powerdvd 14 around 20 minutes.
cinavia is in audio tracks and withstands transcoding/recording etc even over mic and there is no removal solution. only worksarounds.
so i was surprised when powerdvd didn't stop it. why?
edit: hope i haven't broken any rules which is fairly difficult considering the rules mention "any" domestic law. just a friendly conversation about cinavia not talking about cracking drm it's a fairly cool copy protection because it is several inaudible echoes. no metadata or anything.
the best way to get this sorted is if we all create a support ticket & point it to this thread.
i don't believe all blurays are encoded the same. for example the most popular encoding library x264 has found its way to some blurays even though most don't use x264. x264 is one of many h264 encoders. also blurays can be VC1. which is not h264 at all.
also, i had an issue with brave bluray. as a matter of fact, i still don't know if it has been fixed even now.
i ripped the copy protections & created a single m2ts with full dts-hd ma 7.1 track and copied the video exact. so basically a single file with identical quality to the bluray. powerdvd still skips. so i'm thinking powerdvd has trouble handling m2ts/h264 files in general not bluray. vlc succeeds but it doesn't support dts-hd.
this is a problem for pdvd definately. for the 2d copy, i just use vlc after backing my bluray up. it's worse for 3d because i have to rely on things like windvd/pdvd/arcsoft etc. powerdvd 14 really doesn't like 3d mode, mouse vanishes OR interface vanishes. support really hasn't helped much in the past either. i've had to report bugs to tech support for powerdvd 13 which they said had been identified and will be dealt with. powerdvd 13 hasn't been patched and powerdvd 14 seems to have a new set of bugs. i really am out of options for 3d
