On the Pixelan startup: I had around 5.6 seconds opening the Spicemaster menu when first loading PD12 after the update, subsequent openings of PD12 and adding Nature.wmv to the timeline with Spicemaster added to the end of the clip were between 4 and 4.6 seconds.
Have not tried the other fixes mentioned but will see how they fair.

I was pleased to see the expanding shadows issue addressed in Title Designer

Good News: The shadow distance now remains as it was set when re-opening or copying & pasting a title.

Bad News: Clicking Fill Shadow now has no impact at all!

In Title Designer:
Select title with shadow applied
Check Fill Shadow - no fill is applied
Save title
Re-open or copy paste
Fill Shadow is unchecked without user intervention!

I second Tony's finding

UPDATE: If the title already has the Fill Shadow checked (prior to applying the new patch), the box will still be checked when you open the title for the first time, although the actual fill shadow is not drawn.

The box will be become unchecked if you save and reopen the title. Checking/unchecking the box has no effect at all - at no time will it ever display the fill shadow.

My update appears to produce and save a filled shadow with no problems. Haven't yet had time to try the prog out!

Kyle, that's very strange. This may sound silly, but are you 100% certain that PD is at v2915? I'm not questioning your technical skills in any way, but sometimes people have downloaded and applied a patch and PD did not get updated!




BETA TESTING UPDATE: It looks like 2915 does fix the Chroma Key issue , but does not address the trim/video speed issue

This is just a stab in the dark.

It's possible that the missing Fill Shadow issue only afflicts PD users who previously had the expanding shadow distance issue. Possible. Maybe others will chime in & provide some clues.

I second the chroma-key resolution with the 2915 beta patch.

Not sure if I am being unrealistic or unreasonable, so I will just ask a question.

Is it reasonable to assume that 6 BETA patches is far too many between actual program updates? Lots of things are reported as fixed in these beta releases, but it appears that Cyberlink has ceased actually RELEASING the patches.

Is it just me??

I think there are more beta patches than usual because there are numerous new problems reported with each new beta. Basically 2-3 steps forward but also 1 or 2 back. Every. Single. Time.

PD12 has had 5 "official" patches. They came out about once a month after the initial release, and then there was a 3 month gap before 2726 was posted. We're not quite two months out from there, and my guess/hope is that they're doing a *lot* of testing on the next patch before they set it loose.

At least that's my 2¢

Ugh, keep getting the dreaded MD5 error, repeatedly. Any fix? This happens with the beta and the latest official patch.

What !!! you are indeed correct optodata ... my download didn't happen I was hoodwinked into thinking I'd downloaded v2915 after clicking on the download link supplied by Dafydd I had in fact re-downloaded v2817 I think I'll stick at this one for a while

Here's something interesting that just happened that never happened before with all the other betas I have tried-

I have 3 what I call "stock" test projects that I open and play with on a regular basis after each install of a new patch.

Well for all three after I installed this latest v2915 all of a sudden they can't find a few of the picture and video files that usually get loaded inside the projects. (All files are in their exact same locations, nothing moved or change, no file name renames or anything.)

I have to manually point the prgm to the picture or video locations and then the project opens and plays without any issues.
I then save and close and reopen without any issues. For small projects this is not too much of a hassle- but for bigger ones I can see this being a real pain.

Anyone else experience this?
