I was keen to see if this was going to fix the opening time for the Spicemaster plugin but it didn't. Selecting Modify-> Stand-alone Effect takes an age to open.
Which plugin is this meant to be for?
Cheers

Dafydd - Unfortunately, my experience echoes o0spyder0o. There is no improvement seen when opening Pixelan's 3D Six-Pack, DissolveMaster or SpiceMASTER PRO control panels: all take about 7 seconds to load in an empty project with a single transition applied to Nature.wmv in the timeline.

The dummy Fade2 transition from the test DLL also takes just under 7 seconds to open, which is unchanged from when the issue was first reported. I'm not sure what improvement was seen before this patch was released

I can make a video showing the delays to back up 1Nina's if you think that would help.

Hi both,
I'll pass on your feedback. I haven't applied the beta* and for me DissolveMaster took 17 seconds to appear. I'm using 8.1 and I believe you are as well optodata.

Thank you both.

*for me it's that iffy area where the majority haven't applied the beta.

Dafydd

Edit note: I had already passed on the previous feedback information, I've now tagged it with/to your confirmation report optodata - Thanks. Dafydd

If it helps I tried it just prior to installing the 2817 patch using 2726 and there appeared to be no difference, about as much difference as without the beta patches applied also.
Definitely a much more stable program though.
Cheers

Dafydd, yes I'm using 8.1 with the recent UI update (6.3, build 9600)

I believe that the load time is affected by the content of the timeline. I timed the Fade2 and Pixelan transitions on a current project and they all took 12 seconds to load, but I remember that I had seen about 7 seconds previously.

I wanted to make sure that the new patch hadn't made things worse, so I decided to report the delay time from the most basic and universally available project. 7 seconds represents the shortest possible delay, and it's always longer in the real world

Something I just found is that the Error Reporter box no longer has the unexplained check box once you've sent in an error report. The unnamed box showed up with the 2810 patch if I'm not mistaken, and you could check or uncheck it but there was no text or label describing its function. The only active button is OK.

The mystery checkbox was still present with 2816, but it's now gone with 2817.
