>>"By the way Dafydd's video on making your own setting is pure gold."

Can someone provide a link to this video?

I've created my own profiles, but can't find a way to create what I'm looking for. Perhaps this video will help me.

I've looked at most of the postings by Dafydd but dont' find a pointer to this video.

Thanks!
Just curious ... does Cyberlink support read these posts, or is it best to call them by phone to get their perspective on an issue?
I'm wanting HQ for YouTube (not HD) at 720x480, that utilizes the graphics card for faster rendering (it's significant).

PD's YouTube profile for HQ creates a .WMV at 640x360, and does not exploit the graphics card rendering.

Currently I am using a custom H.264 profile that creates a file per the list in my original post. Then I have to convert it using Wondershare Video Converter, which allows for the kind of tuning that creates a good YouTube presentation, with practical upload time. I was using MediaShow Espresso, but it is very limited in customization of the output file, but converts an 8 minute video in under 2 minutes using graphics card, whereas Wondershare takes 10 minutes using the CPU.

I would be happy if Cyberlink would create a YouTube profile per the list in post number 1, using Nvidia/Hardware optimization for fast rendering.
Where did you get build 2013? I'm at 1930. I have auto-update on, and have checked support downloads for PD8 updates and find none.

Thanks for noticing the "apply to all" is a primary contributor to the problem. Perhaps I can avoid using that until they get this fixed.

The problem I'm having is duration changes to the master track. Tracks below that don't follow along. I got so frustrated with my current project that I removed all PIP tracks! Even at that, text track gets out of sync. Very temporary circumvention is to lock then unlock the text track. It will then follow along for a while, but disintegrate after a major master tracks change (like adding fade transitions). Have waited for rendering to follow - even to the point of restarting PD - no help. I think there is a bug in this area.
How do I set up PD8 to create a high quality video (HQ) for YouTube, that renders using my NVIDIA graphics processor, like H.264 does? H.264/AVC creates a .m2ts file type, which can be uploaded to YouTube, but does not view/convert correctly. PD8 YouTube rendering options do not exploit "Fast video rendering technology". Currently I am rendering to H.264, then converting to MP4 with Mediashow Espresso. However this reduces my videos from 720 wide to 640 wide, with a loss of quality.

I would like the following specs or similar, that is direct output from PowerDirector, and rendered using fast video rendering technology.
1. MP4 output file
2. 3,000 kpbs
3. 30 fps
3. 720x480
4. Stereo audio at 96kbps

Thanks!
Either there is a major bug in PD8, or I'm overlooking something obvious. Searched this forum and don't find an answer. I'm an experienced video edit software user (over 4 years, 2 years using Pinnacle, others include Sony Vegas, Ulead/Corel, Vista x64 Video Editor).

"Link all tracks when moving" is checked (by default).

My tracks are getting out of sync. I have discovered that if I lock all tracks, then unlock all tracks, they will stay in sync -- for a while. But eventually everything starts getting out of sync again. This is very frustrating, cuasing me to spend tons of time re-ordering secondary tracks.

Here are samples: Main track with PIP track (1 or 2), and text track. Mixed video and images in the main track.

1. Change the duration of an image in the main track -- secondary tracks are in the wong place.

2. Insert a new image in the main track -- secondary tracks are in the wrong place.

3. Add a fade transition to all of main track (which condenses the time/duration of the entire main track) -- secondary tracks are in the wrong place.

Surely with software such as PowerDirector 8, this should not be happening.

What I am doing wrong? Thanks!
Done.
Cyberlink,

What would it take to convince you to add a spell check feature to PowerDirector 8? It's about the only thing this superb video creativity product is lacking. It would really be a fantastic addition. Perhaps as a "pay for" add-in?

Thanks for considering.
Thanks for the info. I will check out the links.

The problem with PD8's using a WMV output is it doesn't use CUDA (the graphic card's hardware) to render. I'm discovering that using PD8 output that exploits the graphic card reduces rendering from hours to minutes (quite effective). I purchased a top of the line Nvidia card just to exploit this feature of PowerDirector. I only used PD7 for a little while before upgrading to PD8, and it seems like PD8's file output options are a regression from PD7. If Cyberlink would create a "pre-set" profile for YouTube output that created a reasonably sized/quality MP4 using CUDA rendering, then uploaded it, I would be happy. The current profiles only create a 320 size file (mobile device). Uploading an MP4 with the specs I mentioned previously allows YouTube to create a very nice HQ file for view, that looks nice even at full screen viewing. I've done a lot of experimenting with YouTube upload formats, and the settings I've noted produce the best results with the smallest upload file.

P.S. Love your bike!
I want my PowerDirector 8 to do the following. I can not find a way to make it happen.

1. Render using CUDA to minmize rendoring time (works great when I create an H.264 file manually).
2. Create the output in a YouTube compatible format - preferably MP4 (m2ts causes YouTube to choke).
3. Create the file with these specs: 720x480, 3MPS, 30 fps, Stereo at 96 bps, compatible with YouTube "HQ" quality.
4. Automatically upload the file after rendering.

I don't want to have to create a file, convert it with MediaShow, then upload it.

Thanks for upgrading PD-8 to make the above possible.
