Quote: I have bitten the bullet and ordered Director Suite 3.
Now I know this question has been asked before, but I'm wondering if there are any previous programs I can delete which may be taking up latent space on the PC.
I currently have installed, PD9, PD12, Photodirector 3 (which I have never used) and Wave Editor 2. I will probably keep PD12 as I still have so many files still in use on it, but if I were to uninstall the rest, what consequences might I expect please?

I in your case, uninstall PD9 and her 2 packs effects.

PhotoDirector is not used well.

If you will keep PD12 should also keep your 2 packages of effects, because effects of PD13 package does not open in PD12.

Wave Editor must adapt to keep up Audiodirector.

For simple editing, I prefer Wave Editor.

This is just my opinion.
This is problem with PD (64-bit), I think the PD13, the worst on this issue.

Thankfully it's the preview of the timeline, does not affect the video after rendering.

Some effects require more power from the PC, and can take a trip on the preview.

Example: when the credits text, beginning to rise (pause) in this PC signature.

However a simple CrossFade should have no problems unless have others overlapping effects.

Hopefully an update will improve this as well.

Quote: That's great PlaySound!

So now - all I have to do is...

1. Click Keyframe
2. Click Maintain Aspect Ratio*
3. Close the keyframe window
4. Resize the object

* I wonder who thought of defaulting Aspect Ratio to OFF?

I may as well do it in PiP Designer.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful for your suggestion. It does allow me to resize in Preview. Thank you.

Cheers - Tony

I think the default is Maintain Aspect Ratio.

I don't know how it was disabled here.

I investigated to find this detail.
Quote: This has happened before, but tonight I'm on a roll posting bugs that annoy me.
What we have here is a failure to illuminate...an image in the timeline fails to appear.
The workaround is to go to MODIFY and click FADES, then if you wish unclick it. The image will appear as it should.

I have this same problem for images (pictures) when you open a project and add more photos.

Beyond the Fade button, which restores the opacity, the other button I used, keyframe / Clip Attribute / Opacity.

A click on the diamond side of the clock.

Doing this for the first photo added later shows normal.
Quote: Huh? What's going on?

For the whole time I've been using PD (since about PD7), when you resized an image or video in the Preview screen Aspect Ratio was maintained. I'm not referring to the freeform handles.
Grrrrr - Tony

In PD13 has a new assignment, see in button keyframe / keyframe Settings / Maintain Aspect ratio.

I think good this option, I can now adjust image in freeform mode, directly on the preview.

For your case I think should follow to Cyberlink support.

Thank you.
Do you mean I can create new tag? I did not find any option to create new folder and/or subfolder within folder (BTW Sony Movie Studio has such option).

I know I can create tag and move some clips into it. Tagging your footage is good if you have only small projects. I usually have 5-6 cassetes wit 200+ clips each, which is difficult to handle if there is no way to organize clips in a sensible way. Without possibility to take some 100+ clips from an event (let say visit of cathedral) and organize them into smaller groups is difficult to do any reasonable project.

That is why I need to migrate from Adobe Premiere, which in new versions also removed possibility easily organize clips.

AFAIK the only possibility doing larger projects with PD seems to be saving chunks of work as smaller projects and somehow finalise them with loading/unloading clips not used in relevant chunk.

Thanks
Petr

That what you want is the same, I do in Windows Explore need not be done within PD.

Add hundreds of files in the media library PD, will leave the slower process, I prefer to do in steps for these cases.

Just my opinion.
Adding to what Carl312 and ynotfish, showed.

Besides removing the file from the media library can also remove the file from the disk.

Delete fron Disk, Care, this option will delete the original file in your source folder.

I use this option, for example when I draw a picture of the video and decide not to use. then delete it from disk.
The video has audio before adding the timeline?

Have audio in the timeline?

Wave is shown in the audio track?
Quote: I have some video files created with my GoPro. Some were shot at 30fps and others at 60fps. How can I get both kinds loaded into and used by one project?

You can add videos with different framerate on PD12, the output will be only one, depending on the profile that you will choose to Producer, or Creat Disc
Quote: Dear all

I just started to check trial version of PD13 and noticed that there are no folders or subfolders option in media library window. I found, that in older versions of PD there was such option add folder and its subfolders (I have seen some tutorial) and organize clips into these folders.

Is there any way how to easily organize 1000+ clips within PD13 project media library or any other window.

Thanks for answer

Petr

In PD you can create folders (New Tag) to organize groups of files and facilitate the work.

See the image.
Quote: Part of my problems were that Wave Editor wouldn't allow me to save or import, as in, I could open the menu but didn't respond to any of the options listed.

You did not say how this trying to work with WaveEditor.

If this editing in PD, WE editor and open the Audio Edit button.

The functions of the WE menu is disabled.

Close by X and WE have the options, Yes / No / Cancel.

Yes saves the edited file will overwrite the original timeline in PD.

WE is very light and easy to edit.

See this video at the end, http://youtu.be/WLpQGbKcrM8

sorry for the google translation sometimes confuse
Quote: Sorry PlaySound -

I can't replicate the error here.

When I save, close then re-open the gain level (bottom slider) and volume adjustments are just as I left them.

Which build are you using? 2307?

Cheers - Tony

Use Ultimate PD13, v.2307, with simple test has no bugs here, with great design happens, I already did several times.

For music added, also for audio the video.

In PD12 does not occur.
I adjust volume for track, it's all right till I save the project.

When I open the project every track that the volume has been changed below 50, this zero, above 50 back to 50.

Anyone else have this error, is it only with my PC?
Quote: I installed this software and it's crap, seriously. Opened Wave Editor, cannot save or import files.

In WaveEditor use, Menu / File / Import and Export track Track option.

Opens WaveEditor from the timeline PD, after editing, click the X to close and confirm Yes to save.

The marker doesn't respond. Just tried to add a picture to a video.

This is a PD error, The workaround is to go to Modify and click Fades then unclick it. The image will appear as it should.
Quote: The searches I conducted, didn't yield answers for me.

I'm downloading PD13 Ultimate now.

I've been using PD12 Ultimate.

I'm paranoid that upgrading will screw up all the videos I currently have made.

Since I'm upgrading... Is it possible to install another copy of PD12 and upgrade just that copy to PD13, thus having PD12 and PD13 available for use?

Thank you for your time,

Joe

Here I installed PD13 Ultimate, without uninstalling PD12 Ultra.

I can open projects PD12, in PD13.

One problem that surfaced after, I have the effects package duplicated in the respective hall effects.
For new project OK, then save and reopen the project I got this error for new images added to the timeline, exactly as described BarryTheCrab.

One suggestion for another very good effect.

Yeah, well that blackens the screen showing only the fireworks.

Open the editor particles delete the background image, save to the library.

Quote: I've included the Firework Particle in a short 22 sec video. However, the "fireworks" vanish at 20sec.

So now what?

Thank you for your time,

Joe

Here is the same 20 sec.

My first thought add two or more effects, use 2 track for continuous effect.

How to : image rotate horizontal ....
