I installed this software and it's crap, seriously. Opened Wave Editor, cannot save or import files. The marker doesn't respond. Just tried to add a picture to a video. Did not display. Sometimes the interface works but most of the time not. I got this to replace a video editor that wasn't working. I just plunked down $90 for non-functioning crap. The support person who took my ticket didn't even correctly identify the problem, much less solve it. Really beyond unhappy. Want my money back.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. I notice that you haven't asked for assistance, just gave up.

Glad the rest of us are happy...

Hi Amy,

This editor is pretty demanding of your computer.
I don't know how old etc. Your is...but if it older than 4 years..
It probably can't keep up. Plus it does need at least 4 gigs of memory and a decent video card.

Cheers!

Hi, I suspected that might be the issue. The computer is not that old, and I upgraded the memory shortly after purchase. That having been said, it is not a powerhouse. It's a surf the web type computer. I think the processor might be good enough, but maybe installing more memory would help?

Will have to look into that. In the meantime, I installed the latest version of the video editor I was using before I purchased this and it works great. Back in business.

Thanks for your kind reply.

Amy Aletheia,
PowerDirector is a a resource-hungry beast.
If you'd care to give it another shot, you might get more definitive answers by providing us with a dxdiag file from your computer.
It's just a compilation of the innards of your hardware/drivers, and it's an easy thing to do. The computer will do it for you.
Follow this link, and please provide Part A and Part B.

I've encountered many of these. Your CPU may be up to snuff and you can get your memory up to snuff but the rest isn't designed for video editing. For example, The video card, motherboard, Front Side Bus. CyberPowerPC | Win7HP-64 | AMD FX-8320 3.5 Ghz | 8GB Mem | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB | WEI 5.9

In WaveEditor use, Menu / File / Import and Export track Track option.

Opens WaveEditor from the timeline PD, after editing, click the X to close and confirm Yes to save.

The marker doesn't respond. Just tried to add a picture to a video.

This is a PD error, The workaround is to go to Modify and click Fades then unclick it. The image will appear as it should.

Part of my problems were that Wave Editor wouldn't allow me to save or import, as in, I could open the menu but didn't respond to any of the options listed. The program wasn't responding to really really basic functions. I tend to agree with what I've heard here that my computer just can't handle this. Fortunately, I copied the install files to an external drive, so I can use them when I do an upgrade. Thanks. And thanks for the workaround info on the fades. That's helpful.

DxDiag reveals that while PD should perform marginally, your PC isn't geared for best results. The minimum specs...

You did not say how this trying to work with WaveEditor.

If this editing in PD, WE editor and open the Audio Edit button.

The functions of the WE menu is disabled.

Close by X and WE have the options, Yes / No / Cancel.

Yes saves the edited file will overwrite the original timeline in PD.

WE is very light and easy to edit.

This is great information. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, the interface wasn't responsive in general, and that's the main issue. Stuff that was supposed to work just did not. I understand enough about video editing software where most stuff was intuitively obvious, but I do know that you're supposed to be able to move the marker and I couldn't. I really think it's my computer isn't up to it. But thank you for your helpful advice.

Thank you for the links to the technical specs and other info. I should have doublechecked the specs before I bought. Next time I'll do that.

There is a refund policy. We are not Cyberlink, so you'll have to go through official channels. They'll ask you for some type of proof of purchase, etc. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

All of you were much more helpful than official tech support. I'll look into their refund policy, thanks.
