Hi James.

I am also using Windos 7 32 bit. I did re install PD8 when I first upgraded from Vista, but it sounds as if I may have to do it again. Thanks for your input.
Hi, thanks for all of your responses.

I can open PD if I re boot, but this is time consuming. I trid to shut down PDR8.exe by going into task manager, but got the following message:-
The operation could not be completed. Access Denied.

I have noticed since I changed from Windows Vista to Windows 7, that when PD8 does open it takes about four times as long to load a project in 7, than it did in Vista. Is this normal?

Dafydd, I have only lived near Bristol for 42 years, so I am yet to be accepted. I actualy come from Kingston upon Thames in Surrey.
I am using Windows 7, & PD 8 2220c. Having succesfully used PD 8 & closed it down, I then tried to re start it & got the following message:-
'Concurrent user sessions are not supported'
How can I overcome this?
Has there been any response from Cyberlink yet, I to like to disable video thumbnails.

Thanks Dafydd, Once again you have saved the day. I had put a lot of hours creating that project, It's now up & running again thanks to you.
I have two projects in PD, the most recent one created last week reloads ok, when I start PD. The previous project created a month ago does not. When I try to load it it tries to retrieve the video from drive G which no longer exists. The reason for this being that all of my PD folders are on my external hard drive & when I created this project my computer allocated G as its drive ref. It now allocates F as the drive ref. Can I in any way tell the project to look in the F drive for the files?
Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been away. & Sorry Dafydd I missed part of your reply, i.e. the opening sentence 'Yes John it does'.
Thanks for your help, Dafydd & James, All is well now.
Hello Dafydd

I had to re install PD7 after a problem with my computer. My question is 'do I now have to install all previous patches prior to 2227c or does 2227c include the fixes etc which the previous patches fixed?'
Can anyone help please? I have just re installed PD7 Ultra v 1915, if I now install the v2227c Patch does this contain the fixes from previous patches eg 2206 etc?
Thanks Robert, it's all working now.
Thank you Jeff you're a life saver.
It worked just as you said it would. I am in fact using the latest version of PD7 Ultra, 2227c. I would have thought this would have included the fixes from previous updates, but maybe not. Anyway the fix you recommended is brilliant.

Thanks again
Hi, I have a similar problem, not with the chapter objects, they work fine even when they are not enabled. My problem is with 'Play' & 'Chapter' on the main menu. They highlight in preview mode, but not on a burned DVD. I have tried several different menus, but get the same result every time.
Can anybody help me with this please?
When I create a menu & switch to review, the first page has the title, with Play & Chapter displayed. when I point to either of these an arrow comes up next to them & when I click away they go to either play the video or go to the chapters page. However when I then make a DVD & try to play it on any of my DVD players, in the opening menu neither play or chapter show the arrow. I try to switch between them using the toggle on the remote, but have to guise which one is active. They both work, but are not indicated.
How can I overcome this?
Thanks pjc, I suppose the only way to go is either purchase a camera or if possible get one on approval & check it out. Can you advise me please which processor would be OK? bearing in mind I have a Lap Top. also would I need to upgrade anything else?
I really appreciate your input.
Further to my previous entries, I have been looking at the Sony HDR SR10/SR11/SR12 Camcorders. These I believe can record AVCHD & SD Formats. I could use the SD Format for now until I Upgrade my computer or purchase a more powerful computer to edit in PD7.
I have Downloaded from the Internet, AVCHD clips in both *.m2t & m2ts forms, imported them into PD7 & they play without any problems, I've also converted them to mpeg 2 files without any problems. & in the case of the *.mts into an mpeg 4 mt2s file.
Does this mean that my present computer will handle the AVCHD files from a camera without a need to upgrade? or am I being Naive?
Hi pjc
The spec of my Laptop is as follows.

Intel Core Duo T2350 1.86 Ghz Processer
Intel 945GM Chipset
2048MB DDR Ram
160GB Hard Drive
Intel GMA 950 Graphics

I also have a 500GB External Hard Drive.

Can you tell me please if this is sufficient to Edit AVCHD Video. I don't have a Blueray Burner yet, but was going to burn to DVD for now. However your comments re PQ are giving me second thoughts. Should I stick with my current Camcorder until I get Blueray Burner?

My current Camcorder is a Sony DCR-HC90E which uses mini DV tape & has a 1/3 CCD.

Your Advice would be most welcome

Having successfully removed PD, I then re installed PD6, then the PD7 upgrade & finally the 2206 patch.

All is now working fine.

Thanks pjc, I am thinking of purchasing the SD9 & like to edit with PD7. From what I've read in this Forum so far, things look good.
Hi
Re the Panasonic SD9 recommendation, does an SDHC card fit in the same reader as an SD card? Do you load the clips into PD7 using capture (from the camera or SDHC card in a reader) or do you just import the clips into 'Edit' via 'import media'
.
Hello
I've just downloaded PD7 Patch 2206, & tried to install it. Having tarted the install I was told the previous version of PD7 had to be uninstalled, before the new patch could be installed, & did I want this to be done. I indicated 'yes' & it continued, only for a message to appear after a short time informing me that 'SKUT. 1.dll' could not be loaded, & I could not go any further. I downloaded the patch again, but got the same result.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way around it? Can anyone help me please?
