Hello
I've just downloaded PD7 Patch 2206, & tried to install it. Having tarted the install I was told the previous version of PD7 had to be uninstalled, before the new patch could be installed, & did I want this to be done. I indicated 'yes' & it continued, only for a message to appear after a short time informing me that 'SKUT. 1.dll' could not be loaded, & I could not go any further. I downloaded the patch again, but got the same result.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way around it? Can anyone help me please?
Thanks again Dafydd, your the top man. Because the HDD camera makes it's own clips & stores them in the mpeg2 format, I could as you suggested treat the cameras hard drive like any other hard drive & simply import the clips as media files straight into PD6 eliminating the need to capture them. From there on it's plain sailing. Problem solved. My friend is now going to purchase PD6, & join this forum.
Thanks for your reply Dafydd, I have read the posts by Brady that you recommended, but they all seem to refer to High Definition, my friends camera has a Hard Disk Drive, but is not High Def. A thought has just occurred to me, could we just import the media from the camera? I do not have his camera with me at present, but if you think this is possible I would get him to bring it over to try.
My friend has a Sony HDD camcorder ( not HD), & is thinking of purchasing PD6, because he is impressed with the results I get with PD6 & my Sony DV camcorder. We have tried to capture from his camera via the USB2 connection without success (his camera does not have a fire wire connector). Is it possible to capture from his camera? or will he have to make a DVD of his video & then import this into PD6? Bearing in mind that HDD HD can be imported via USB2.
Hi Brady
I have now received & installed PD6 deluxe, & tried out the slide show feature, which worked fine.
Thank you for your help Brady
Thanks Brady

I will wait until I've installed the full version of PD6 before I try what you have
suggested. Hopefully later today.

Regards

John
Thanks Dafydd

I do not think my question was put very well. In Pinnacle you can place a transition on the time line between two clips, the same as in PD6, but you can then select any number of adjacent clips, right click on the block of clips & choose 'ripple', the same transition will then be placed between all of the clips. I could not find a way of doing this in PD6. To date I only have the trial version of PD6, but tomorrow hopefully the full PD6 version should arrive in the post.
I found this feature useful not only when making a video, but particularly useful when making a slideshow.
Best regards
John
Is there an equivilent in PD6 to Pinnacles Transition Ripple?
Thank you Robert & Dafydd, I will go ahead & purchase, probably from Amazon, unless you have any recommendations
Best regards, John.
I am currently trying out the trial version of Power Director 6, & considering purchasing it. On the cyberlink website they compare v6 Deluxe with v5 Premium, I can only find v6 Premium in the UK market, eg at Amazon. I would like to purchase a boxed set of v6 Deluxe which I assume would contain a CD & the manual. Can anyone tell me the difference between v6 Deluxe & v6 Premium, & where I can purchase v6 Deluxe in the UK please.
I've emailed cyberlink the question re differences between the versions & they referred me to Element5. I emailed Element5 & they referred me back to cyberlink, a complete circle.
