So, I guess this topic will get removed but it seems Director Suite Live users can have PowerDirector 15 now before an official release statement has been released

No idea what's new but let the play time start!

Good screenshot. I don't see any real difference between this and the PD14 edit screen. The sample files are the same. There is one Beach 360.mp4 added.

Yeah, most probably PDR15 just includes 360 video editing, since PowerDVD 16 brought support for that. And also, the usual "Speed Improvements over the last version" but I find PDR15 performance to be just the same with PDR15.

Some things I found out:
-H265 lets you choose Main or High profile. I wasn't sure if this was possible with PDR14
-H264 and H265 now have an option for "Dynamic GOP".

The other encoders are the same. WMV, MPEG2, H264 and H265 are all there, along with 2D, 3D and the other export profiles.

I'm still playing with it... But it still lags when editing 4K XAVC files. Shadow files is a must.

Yes, Main and High was possible in PD14, even PD13.

The Dynamic GOP would be a nice addition feature for improved quality, proof is always in the implementation though. Being a first release, if past experience is any indication it's about half cooked but fully marketed.

Pretty lame for new features if that's all that was easily identified, fine by me as long as they fixed so many of the outstanding bugs and anomalies. Plenty of CL finest contributors were onboard to checkout so hopefully we get a much improved product.

My only real issue with PD15 Live at this moment is a New Blue FX package that works in 14 but not 15, it's package VI.

I cannot seem to remove my attachment showing my idiotic error on CROP! Sometimes the brain just let's out a big flatulent wind and that's what I did here. How do I remove an attachment? Got it!

It also seems that VitaScene is not licensed for PDR 15. I guess we have to wait for the official release so the content packs and effects get updated for PDR 15

Interestingly, Adorage works, but not Vitascene.

Also, at least for me, the timeline seems to be faster when working with slideshows. Transitions no longer seem to cause preview issues I had with PDR 14, but interestingly as well, is that I built a mini-ITX system using a 3rd gen mobile i7 CPU from a broken laptop and the editing system I used before is a 4th gen mobile i7 processor, in which I always had timeline issues...

I'm finishing my project, so I'll test rendering in a few minutes Main Machine: Jetway NF9G-QM77, Intel i7-3610QM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, 128gb SSD, Windows 10 Pro

I would have liked if PDR 15 added HEVC Main10 10-bit encoding...

BTW, the transition bug where a transition is not rendered and gives you a black transition instead of the actual transition is still there... Main Machine: Jetway NF9G-QM77, Intel i7-3610QM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, 128gb SSD, Windows 10 Pro

I am getting a little crashing from time to time but it seems random, can't nail it down. Mostly though the program has been fine and after a hiatus of 6 or 7 weeks I am actually editing again and having fun. I'm also looking forward to whatever new categories they provide for D-Zone downloads. I've seen the test-site, and it only had BLENDING as new downloads for PD. Stability-wise, it has also been pretty much stable than PDR 14, but I still haven't worked with my 4K XAVC files.

At least exporting to WMV, H264, XAVC and H265 are working fine. I will test rendering other slideshows I made that when exporting to 4K H265 it crashed PDR 14, but exporting to H264/XAVC and WMV worked fine. Currently I'm still doing more renderings with the same slideshow I made with different codecs and it still haven't crashed.

At least manual slideshow editing is working way better than PDR 14. I'm using Intel HD Graphics 4000 at the moment, which is a step down from the Intel HD Graphics 4600 and Nvidia GT 750 from my other machine. Still impressed by how fast it is working on the old CPU. Still shell shocked about UHD BR not being part of PD15.

Wonder if there is a licensing fee that kept it out of PD15.

CY could of course produce a plug-in for a fee that would enable this feature.

Over the last few month I have spend hours googling for a UHD BR authoring program, so far nothing that I could afford.

a bug I found when opening a PDR 14 project in PDR 15

First, it asked me to locate the Evaporate.png and the other transition files from the transitions I posted below. I didn't knew why it was asking for that file since I never used a file named like that in the timeline, and later I found out it is because of the Evaporate, Crystalize and Passing Time transitions, since they didn't worked... See below.

The following transitions turned into the Binary transition and I had to remove and apply the same transition to each transition that turned into the Binary one. Just replacing them didn't work:
-Evaporate (There now seems to be 4 different Evaporate transitions)
-Crystalize
-Passing Time

Also, the "Evaporate - Middle" transition is called faint02 when it is applied in the timeline instead of having its name...

Do you have a PC burner for that?

I believe UHD Blu-Ray is actually BD XL, so any BD XL burner should work.

Only problem is that the media is very expensive

I do not yet have a BDXL burner but UHD BR is supposed to read 25?, 33?, 50, 66, 100, and 128GB discs.
All is needed is the likes of a UHD version TsMuxer or similar to tell the player the location of the video files to be played.

Wonder why Cyl has not included it. Could be licensing fees and very little demand for this feature. If it is fees Cyl could make it a plugin and charge accordingly.

Seems like I have spend days googling this feature w/o any luck.

The latest LG BDXL internal disc player will read UHD disc, showing all folders etc but no playback because of the encryption.

Reminds me when BR came out. Pinnacle had a plugin for a nice fee that allowed me to do HD AVCHD burning. What a thrill that was!!

So has there been any improvement to TrueVelocity? 6? I skipped PD14 and so far PD15 doesn't impress me. Intel i7 4770k, 16GB, GTX1060 3GB, Two 240GB SSD, 4TB HD, Sony HDR-TD20V 3D camcorder, Sony SLT-A65VK for still images, Windows 10 Pro, 64bit

Well, I'm using a 3rd gen Intel i7. Slideshow rendering seems more stable. PDR 14 crashed especially when rendering the transition parts. I don't have a dedicated video card so I really cannot test rendering in hardware, but CPU rendering seems more stable than PDR 14 Main Machine: Jetway NF9G-QM77, Intel i7-3610QM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, 128gb SSD, Windows 10 Pro
