It's only 58 minutes long, I've burned 90 minutes with the same settings before without issue.
Out of curiosity, I looked at the Project Size, and it's only 8.1 Meg - so I wouldn't think that is too big.
How would I go about doing the ISO option?

Thanks for the reply and input.
Yesterday I produced the home movie again, just for good measure, and it produced the movie just fine, and without error.
However - every single time I go to Create Disc, and start the Authoring/Burn process, the authoring gets to exactly 20% and stops, PD gives me the follow error, every time:
Burn Unsuccessful
Error Code: e8000FFF
(8000FFF)
I can't figure it out, and I do NOT want to start this over with a new/fresh template with importing, editing, etc.

Hey everyone, looking for some opinions or direction. Over the past couple weeks I've been working on and editing some of the trips I've taken this year to go on one Blu-ray disc for a home movie. I had zero problems importing the video making my edits, special effects etc. The home-video runs 58 minutes and 33 seconds.
Once I had everything set up exactly how I wanted, I produced the Home video which took about 95 minutes.
Once I click to create disk and hit start burning, the authoring process takes hours! I'm on about my fifth or sixth attempt to author and burn this disc -- but I keep having an issue with Power director 14 not successfully finalizing the burn.
For the most part I have not really had this before with power director 14, however the offering and burning process does take a very long time and my experience.
Thoughts?
Settings for Ceate Disc:
MPEG 2
DTS, HD 1920 x 1080/60i

...according to their techs, v361.43 is causing the crash, yes.
|
|
Yes - I did a rollback.
This is after I waited a full week for a higher teir of tech support from Cyberlink suggested I do so, they saw the specs on my new Dell Laptop, here is what they said:
Dear Jarred,
Thank you for writing us back.In regards to your issue, I would like to inform you that the issue is suspected to be caused by nVidia VGA driver v361.43. I Suggest you to visit nVidia website and download the VGA driver v359.00 and uninstall nVidia VGA driver from Windows Device Manager and reinstall VGA driver v359.00. After installation of the driver, Goto Control Panel-->click on Uninstall a Program-->Select Geforce Experience-->Click on Uninstall.
So -- here is the site I went to this morning per their suggestion:
http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/95561/en-us
That is directly from the Nvidia site too.
So Far.....So Good. Fingers crossed!!

This morning I followed tech-support directions and downloaded the version 359.00 of the Nvidia a graphics card, so far so good.
There directions are on the link above mine in that post. Best of luck to you!

Hey all!
I've finally (I think!) gotten past my Blue Screen of Death via PD and my Nvidia. I've been able to burn some Blu-ray Discs with no problem....as far has crashing goes.
New issue, that I think folks here will easlily be able to help me with.
I noticed that on my new burnt Home Videos the Audio Display when playing in my Blu-ray Plater shows:
DTS 5.1 48KHz, 1.5 Mbps AVC (Automated Volume Control).
When it is encrypted like this, the audio is "in and out".
HOWEVER, when I check older burnt home movies on a blu-ray disc from an older PD version the audio displayed when in the player is:
DTS 5.1 48KHz, 1.5 Mbps MPEG-2
And there are no audio issues what so ever.
So how do I avoid the AVC thing? If it's helpful, I've attahed a screenshot from the Create Disc screen before I make the burn start.
Help please! Thank you!
Also....It's my understanding the video quality is better when burnt in the H.264 vs MPEG-2.

Carl312,
Thanks a lot for your reply - I greatly appreciate it.
Forgive me, I'm not the most tech-savy person out there, but can follow along and understand fairly well.
I am game to download and try the udated Graphics driver on the Intel site.
This new laptop of mine, aslo has the NVIDIA Geforce GTX independet graphics card. Wouldn't/Shoudln't that lone do the trick?

One other quick note, that I find puzzling.
Last night, I was able to successfully burn a small, 30 minute long video project, and I didn't get the Blue Screen Crash, with that security error. This morning, I've tried three times to pull up PD 14 (via right clicking on the PD icon, and clicking Run as Admin), and all three times it crashed right away.
The video looked and sounded great (on the blu-ray player that worked).

Quote:
A good blast of canned air in the BR unit may also help, it worked for me, the burner would work with DVDs, but would do nothing with a Blu-ray. a quick blast and I was back in business.
I was thinking of that too - I may run to Staples later today and pick up a can, good to have on hadn anyhow.
Thanks!!

Hi All -
Looking for a little input and advice.
I am self-taught when it comes to video editing, I'm not a Novice, but not an expert either. My main goal is to make Home Movies for my Family from time to time, and I really enjoy 'jazzing them up', and making a little more fun to watch.
I have been "communicating" ( I use that term very loosley ) with Cyberlink's Tech Support via e-mail, over getting the repeated Blue Screen of Death, it's the exact same error every time, " KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE ". I only get this when using PD 14 on my new laptop. My Dell Tech even did a 3 way call with Cyberlink and Myself to help fix this issue. After a week of this - still no resolution.
I'm starting to wonder if I need to change to a different brand of editing sofrware all together? I really don't want to, as I am now familiar with the layout, etc in PD. I really enjoy this program, but if I can't get it to work - what's the point?
So....I'm looking to you good people to hopefully give a suggestion on a different route of Software. I'm going to give this a little longer before possibly switching, but am starting to think over my options.
Thank you!

Neil.F.1955, thanks for the reply!
Good point on cleading the Blu-ray player that is dropping the audio. I didn't think to do that, only because that never happens on my actual Blu-ray movies, plus some of my older burnt Blu-ray that I made with an earlier version of PD work perfectly fine as well in all DVD/Blu-ray players.
That's what had me stumped.
I will check that option out however.
Thanks again!

Hey all, I am so frustrated. I've been at this off and on for days.
So I burnt a video project on my PD 14, it produced just fine.
1920 x 1080 30/fps
Set the recording to
H.264; HD 1920x1080 as well.
First I did the audo in DTS 5.1; then again on a new Bly-ray disc in Dolby 5.1
On my main Blu-ray Player that's hooked up via HDMI to my Home Theater Receiver, the audio is 'in and out" every 2 seconds.
HOWEVER- when I preview it on my editing laptop, the sound is fine. Also, when I put the burnt disc into my childs blu-ray, there are no audo problems what so ever.
All audio options are enabled in all formats on my main Blu-ray Player, so that's not it..
Thoughts?

When burning a Blu-ray Disc, the audio goes in and out every two seconds, through the entire length of the disc. I have made several burns of this one project and they all do this. I have selected both Dolby Digital and DTS.
Is there a setting I need to make different for the quality audio that I should be having?

Hi All-
In the last 2 days I've been on the phone for HOURS with Dell Premium Tech Support, and with Cyberlink Tech Support, no one thus far can identify my problem...
I have a brand new Dell Laptop (Independent Graphics Card, NVIDIA Geforce, i7 6th Generation Processor, etc), I specifically got this laptop for video editing w/ PD.
After PD launches, my screen goes blue and I get the following:
Your PC ran into a problem and needs to be fixed. We're collecting your error info, we'll restart for you.
KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE
The tech at Dell did a complete restore on my brand new laptop, and reinstalled all the drivers and software. Then, we downloaded the new PD 14, and installed the most recent patch to PD. Still having the exact same problem.
Cyberlink is saying the issue is w/ a driver or software on my end, which I really don't believe.
Thoughts? Help?
Thank you!
Jarred

My mind isn't made up - however I have done research and that is what I gave come up with so far, and it's not $600. That laptop with discounts is $1,028.
|
|
I appreciate the input, but that Desktop is over $2k. I am trying to keep this new purchase around $1k, which, (I think) I have found.
Just trying to get opinions on this purchase that I'm considering...
Given the status on this particular Laptop,
1TB Hard drive
Independent Video Card ( NVIDIA GeForce® GT 750M 2GB GDDR5 )
i7 Processor
8GB Ram
I would hate to shell out $1k and it not work very well with Power Director.

Hi all,
I'm about to buy a new laptop. The one I have currently has a HP, with a video card: Intel HD Graphics 4400, which is integrated into the Motherboard. Because of this, (at least, I think this is the issue) Power Director is very hard to use on this HP Laptop. I can complete projects, but they take FOREVER.
So...I've found a Dell Inspiron 7000 Series, that has it's own Independent Video Card, a: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 750M 2GB GDDR5. The laptop also has a 1T Hard drive, and a i7 Processor.
In your opinion, will this new Dell that I've picked out be better to operate PD13 on it?
Please help!! I would appreciate all feedback.
Thanks!
