Perhaps I can ask ... is this what PD10 Produces in its AVI

Quote: AVI format and saved in full resolution (720 by 576 at 25 frames per second). Produce settings when PAL are (625/50)
I am not sure how I go about producing & making a dvd to this specification ... need help please

If you are sending a video on DVD-ROM, it must be in AVI format and saved in full resolution (720 by 576 at 25 frames per second) for broadcasting purposes. Please ensure your computer editing program's project settings are PAL (625/50) upper field first and not NTSC (525/60)

Thanks Jeff for the link ... it all seems straight forward and it does not seem to be a 'time issue'.

When using import output feature of MPEG2, H.264 file and burning DVD/AVCHD/Blu-ray Disc, these features require activation via an Internet connection the first time they are used. Activation is fast, easy, and free.
Excuse my ignorance but this thread has me even more confused!
Can't we get a simple, accurate answer direct from Cyberlink?

Like others, I have not used 'all' the many 'Produce' possibilities and I have been away on vacation since I installed PD10. But those outputs that I have tried to use seem to function OK. I might add that I am really enjoying the PD10 experience.
Thanks for all your inputs to this thread ... most helpful.
Seasons Greetings to all
Ron (just back from a long hol ... that's why I have been quiet!)
Thanks for your confirmation. That was my hope ... to get 'real files' all 'packed' into one folder and saved on an external HD. Great feature.
Just to check that my understanding is correct please ...
If I pack a project does this mean that it copies all files and that I can, if I wish, then delete from my pc the original files used. These may be videos, pictures, sound files, whatever.
Quote: You both need to change settings.
Go to YouCam->options->capture increase the video size.
->display there is "Mirror image" checkbox check/uncheck it.

Thanks for your help ... mirror image so much easier!
Ron
My free Upgrade was named R10_Ultra_upgrade_r_1005_GM2_VDE etc (plus the two Content packages) and it deleted my recently purchased & installed boxed disc PD9 which Cyberlink advise I can still install later should PD10 be a problem ... though I don't expect to need it.

The software did all the install work and was very easy to follow.

Quote: Those have all your titles, effects, and other goodies. You really need to install them.....

Thanks for your reply. I did install them and as you say 'lots of goodies'
I have YouCam3 preinstalled in my HP i7 processor laptop.
There is a noticable lag between 'my' movement and the on-screen picture. Is this 'normal' and/or is it corrected in later YouCam software.

Also you do not get a 'mirror image' so moving to one's right is shown on the screen as a 'movement to the left' when looking at it ... very confusing.

Would appreciate advise ... I do not need the 'extras' in YouCam 5 but would like to solve this problem.
Dumb question perhaps but what are the two Content Packs that I downloaded for PD10? I don't recall 'special packs' when I installed my boxed PD9.

Found them ... in Prog Files PowerDirector 'Templates'.
Quote: Any one applied the patch after getting the free upgrade from 9 to 10?
In my situation, the patch corrupted the exe. After the upgrade all was fine. But, after the patch, I got an application error 0x0000007b.

Any thoughts?

Yep and no hangups ... so far. Downloaded from the support site and simply installed it.
See my Thread 'PD9 to PD10 Upgrade'.
Well, since I started this Post its appropriate to close it.
I decided to download my authorised upgrade and install PD10.

Had a few problems with downloading the (3) software packages:
Password from Cyberlink did not function ... new password subsequently issued was OK
Downloads failed a few times which I can only conclude were due to 'broadband line problems'. When it failed I could not restart from where it got to in the download (retry had no effect) so it was necessary to start from scratch. This must be due to the security on the Cyberlink link.... took many hours to finalise some 2GB overall.

However I eventually got the software packages downloaded and they installed without difficulties ... very straight forward process with main programme installed first (license number authorisation entered) and then the Packages 1 & 2 installed. PC reboot, download Update Build 1012 and installed it.

OK, I have not had a chance to 'play' but I am IMPRESSED with how easy it was to action the upgrade ... thank you Cyberlink. To those who seem to have problems I can only say 'take a look at your local scene 'cause it seems that the downloads from Cyberlink are OK'.

Now to have a bit of a play ...
Thanks Dafydd ... glad that did not change.
PD10 is looking good.
Is it possible to ctrl c /ctrl v on PD10 in the same way as on PD9 using a Word doc as the 'Title' source. I am planning to upgrade to 10 when back on-line (mid Dec).

Thanks for raising this ... most valuable tool.
I am looking to upgrade to PD10 ... is it possible to ctrl c / ctrl v also on 10?
Interesting post Bubba, thanks.

Certainly food for thought ... I might just download what Cyberlink offer me in the upgrade, save it but then tread water for a while to see what develops before I commit the PD10 install. In case of failure, to have to reinstall my PD9 disc, register etc before reinstalling the PD10 update could be a real pain. But this assumes that PD10 problems will require a reinstall.

What a choice to make ... might be best to have a look at what Amazon will be offering and spend the few dollars! Though I could 'take a chance', do the upgrade and if it proves to be a problem go back to PD9 or maybe make an Amazon purchase then which may reflect lower prices ... Crikey, this is all a bit much for this ageing brain!
Thanks for your replies.
I think (though this is only a guess) that it must be possible for me to keep PD9 because I have the physical disc, I own that disc and it was not a downloaded install. For example, if I do the upgrade to PD10 (and as yet I am not sure what to do) then I guess I can reinstall PD9 from my disc if needed. We shall see but I will most definately check this point with them. So long as I can always revert to my PD9 if I need to then its not really an issue I suppose.

Exciting times! Problem is that I will be 'off air' from the net in 1 week's time until mid Dec but I guess that this will provide me with a lot of 'study time'!
Cyberlink have confirmed that I am entitled to a free upgrade to 10 because I purchased 9 just prior to the 10 launch.
I have read some of the threads about PD10 etc but would like advice please on 'what to do'.

I purchased a boxed disc version of PD9 and am assuming that the PD10 upgrade will be an internet download which will 'update my installed '9' to 10? Is this the case or is it a fresh and complete install?

What specific 'extra's' apart from 3D does PD10 offer ... my reasons are not to use 3D but to ensure that I keep up with the latest developments and software fixes. On this basis, should I install it or stick with PD9?

If it is a complete PD10 install then am I correct in saying that I can retain my PD9 on the pc ... I have plenty of disc space. Are these two installs then totally separate or will they share some common information eg the Cyberlink folder in 'Documents' on my Windows7'.

If PD10 proves problematic will I be able to delete the programme and still continue to use my PD9?

Apologies should all my questions be answered in other posts but maybe this thread will also assist other PD novices like myself.
Thanks Ron
My HP pc is preloaded with YouCam 3.2. When viewing 'self' on the inbuilt cam via YouCam, image tracking noticably lags the 'actual' movements. Is this normal or is there some adjustment which can improve the response
